Being a Caucasian student, I am expected to be bias, but I can not. I am getting my M.S in Criminal Justice and their program is top notch. I understand this is a HBCU but I feel very welcome in class, and am included in all the class conversation, tho I do get alot of the "..from your view point..." ie. A white male, but none the less, I feel very comfortable in the class room. Parking is a problem, but anywhere you go,parking is a problem, I dont have a pass, but I park on side streets and make it to class on time, all the time. The sode streets are sketchy, but you just have to not at the people living where you park and they generally understand not to mess with your vehicle. Academics, atleast in my field is top notch. I jave friends whom attend other Univ. And take CJ, and my professors are ahead of them in terms of real life dynamics, ie. Ferguson case, I feel like the predominantly causation Univ. Shy away from those subjects, but we dive into those subjects. As it is a HBCU, of course there is going to be Afro-Centric pride taught in almost every subject, as it should be, and never once have I been deemed "racial" by students or staff for my views. As I said i feel very comfortable in the class room. Being a jokester as well, never do I get weird looks, or shunned, and even get a few laughs. Interactions with fellows students is pleasent, tho you do get strong wiffs of weed, but even attending some NCSU classes, same thing. Not much i to the social life, as I am older, and a disabled veteran, so the younger crowd is not mine, I have made some friends who I occasionally hang with outside of the classroom. No matter how you put it, or view it, college life is different in all aspects, and NCCU is no different. I take pride in calling my self an EAGLE and will gladly let people know my Alumni status. I hope after I graduate, NCCU will receive better funding and become a more prominent force in UNC Universities.

Majority of the faculty and staff are disorganized and rude (even when you address them with respect of which I can say I have always done) on the administration side of things and as well as the specific department I was in. It takes them far too long to handle matters that they can process immediately. I had one lady yell at me when I called to inquire about my account. She called me back and in a calm voice answered my question. I suppose that was her sorry way of apologizing. In addition to that some do not know how to handle business properly. One particular instructor has a way of taking out her frustrations at home on her students. Instructors of one particular department tend to be dream crushers by insisting their path for you is what you should pursue. On the other hand, I can honestly say that there has been and are a few good faculty and staff. Unfortunately due to unnecessary office politics they lost one good instructor. I was absolutely ill about that when I found out. As for good staff, they are few and far between, but you can find them. I am giving this university a two star rating as opposed to a 1 star rating as those few that remain there were great and continue to be so.

NC Central is a place that will challenge you mentally, socially, and academically . The professors and staff care about all their students and go above and belong to assist you. I remember going out with my professors and learning about them on a personal level but that is because I was involved on campus. It is important to engage with any university you attend because that is a way to improve your network and explain your career opportunities in the future. Despite your race, it is important to get involved because that when I feel in love with the university.

I enjoyed my undergrad years at this school. I am currently getting my masters at this school and find the coursework and professors to be helpful and up to date with current practices in the field of counseling. As with any school or business make sure you check what you are bringing to the table and be prepared. I have received only great service from employees at Central. EAGLE PRIDE!

You do not have to be black to attend NCCU, there are plenty of different races that go here and they are accepted just like everyone else. The ones that dont enjoy this experience are the ones that come in thinking they are not going to be accepted. NCCU is a excellent school, minus the parking problems lol. I would recommend this HBCU to ANYBODY of any race. I Love my Nccu.

If you are not black, you will never enjoy your stay here.. I feel bad for non-black students that i met here.. The environment is unhealthy and unsafe for a student. Black girls are wild and some of the black boys smell weed. If you want a school that you will enjoy and be of memorable to you, take this out of your minds vocabulary.

You have to be black to attend this school. If youre anything else, you will be given the worst possible treatment and ignored and have to dial each and every number in the department until someone will talk to you. And, even then good luck on getting the information or service you wanted. Dont bother!!!!! Go somewhere else.

I learned a lot about my Black Heritage while attending NCCU. The Nursing Program is awesome, but you must be serious about your studies. I recommend NCCU to all who want to be successful. Singer Sunshine Anderson Governor Mike Easley both graduated from NCCU!

I love the new bookstore and the location...the parking garage gives the campus more pop and a interest sight. The parking problem will always be a problem all over the campus of NCCU...lol!!

It is a typical HBC school. I do like the Graduate program. However the bookstore need to train the young adults a little better on how to work with the public.

The staff is unhelpful and unknowledgeable about everything. I have given them multiple chances due to multiple issues and they continuously disappoint.
