I love this place! The staff are friendly and helpful, but they also dont follow you around as you shop, which sometimes happens in small businesses (which I get, but it makes me nervous) They have the best selection of any Asian market I think Ive ever been in short of a full-size grocery store I visited in Raleigh. Sometimes they have fresh bread from a bakery based in Atlanta I think and sandwiches; I havent had the sandwiches, but the bread is fantastic! They also have the most reasonable prices on imported food Ive seen to date. Most stuff is cheaper than the grocery stores if you buy it from them, and if youre into Asian snacks, you know about the markups that stuff suffers. Im sure theres still a markup because otherwise you couldnt make a profit, but its still easily the cheapest Ive seen. YZ has been here about seven months or so, and they have worked really hard to make it their store as awesome as possible, and it shows. If you want to try Asian cooking at all, they have all the stuff youll need. I havent gone in search of something yet and come back empty handed.

A massive selection of items in a small store. You can easily find chinese/taiwanese, korean, thai, and vietnamese food & ingredients for cooking here. There is a sizable selection of fresh fish/meat, dumplings, steamed bun, and frozen food, as well. There was a small amount of Japanese product, but it was mostly sweets and candy. I guess there arent a lot of other japanese people in the area, though, so it makes sense. More of the type of food for anime fans than for japanese people...

Chinese run Asian Market, which means a lot more Chinese/HK/Taiwanese goods than other stores in Asheville. While that is specifically what I shop for there are lots of other products from all over Asia. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Love this store so much! My boyfriend and I just moved here from California and we were afraid we would not find an Asian Markets. But this store has it all everything your looking for, for a great at home Asian dish. So so happy!! :D
