I was hoping this place was going to be great. The food is okay, but the service wasnt the best. I had a party of 6 for a business lunch. I had called the day before to make a reservation and then found out they had no record of it when we arrived. That wasnt a big deal since seating was readily available. Our server started out attentive but then slowly forgot about our table. The food arrived to our table at staggered times. 3 of the meals came out at once. One of the meals came out 5 minutes after the first three. The fifth meal arrived shortly after the fourth. The sixth person had to wait until we were almost done eating until their food arrived! I had the Milanese sandwich, which was okay. Half of the sandwich had mustard, half did not. The other 5 people in my group didnt think much of their food....especially the last person that got their food. Unfortunately, I wont be back.

We have been wanting to check out the Market North End for a while but never got around to it. The ambiance is Birmingham hip but I wont hold that against them, because the food, drinks, and wine list are outstanding. Let me give you an example. At most restaurants, the French fries, even if they are hand cut, are an after thought, and you wouldnt want to eat but a few. At the Market, they are perfectly made, and I had to eat every one. Oh and the French fries came with a very good Lamb burger. For those of you that dont know, to make proper fries you cook the potatoes twice. Once at a low temp to cook the inside and once to crisp the outside, the results are crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside fries that stay that way even when they cool off. Good on ya, Market North End Chefs.

The market on a weeknight was a market. Birminghams well heeled were out in full force, packing the restaurant nearly shoulder to shoulder. I ordered the sparkling wine by the glass ($12-13) and we waited about 30-35 min for a table for 3. Its really loud and the demographic ranges from mid-40s and 50s couples to single young professionals. We ordered the grilled calamari, lamb shank and sides of market vegetables to share. The portions were generous and the grilled squid and vegetables were my favorite of the three. It was easy to converse despite the roar of the crowd. My only complaint would be the heat during summer. There arent many windows and it would be nice if they had a patio.

I thought this place would be great considering it was a 4.1 star rating when I went. I wasnt pleased with being told there was a 45 minute wait, but decided, it would be worth it. I was wrong. We didnt get seated until 53 minutes of waiting. Not sure how anyone could do it, but they literally ruined pizza. No one puts lettuce on pizza, its gross. Also, my chicken was disgusting on my pizza, it was either old or undercooked. Service was not even close to good either.

Squash not tasty. Eggplant was good. Coke wasnt refilled quickly enough and tasted too watered down. No ice in the water glasses when poured from the water pitcher. Just a very bland meal. Nothing special. Service not great. Too busy, too loud, and too crowded. Cheap, ugly chairs like those in a classroom were uncomfortable, too. Will not return. Will not recommend to anyone. I expected far better from a downtown Birmingham restaurant.

Went here Saturday night, and had a great time. Getting there around 630, expect 30-60 min wait. We sat at the bar for one drink and waited about 30 min. Food and service on point. We had the spicy pepper pizza, Fried Chicken, and the house bread. All great quality with fresh ingredients. One of the better places in Birmingham. More of a foodie place, less of a place to be seen. You wont be disappointed.

If you have any kind of food allergy, do not eat here. The waitress, Courtney, on top of being rude, was unable to answer any of my questions about gluten free. Of course, my meal ended up not being gluten free. Im not sure which one is worse, the horrible service or the fact that Im currently sick. either way I will not be returning although the food and ambiance were great.

Sat @ the bar.... Bartender was busy took sometime to come over. We ordered food which took over 30 minutes... It was cold. She never came back to ask how everything was. When she did return we told her food was cold.. She said sorry the kitchen slow? I will NOT be returning!! Will be sure to tell friends dont waste your time.

The restaurant doesnt have a big sign so it was a bit hard to find at first but other than that no complains. I would recommend getting dishes to share as a group because you really want to try everything on the menu! I would recommend getting a pasta dish and a pizza to share and some additional starters.

Great Place. Dark atmosphere and a lot of fun to hang out with some high energy and a few drinks to relax. Pizza is great. Not a whole lot of beer to choose from but they do have to great cocktails. Little crowded on the busy night like saturday when I went, but would still return next time Im in the area.

Went there on a busy night. Host staff was able to accommodate our party of 6. However our waitstaff was sub par. Our bills were brought before we were asked if we wanted desert, and I never received several items I ordered. Food was excellent, I had the lamb burger and the temperature was great.

This is a really good place. Everything from the setting, ambience, menus, and offerings, just ties together. The food is more your pizza-style place. They have a small beer selection, but a solid one. The prices arent higher than any other place in the area. Would definitely come back.

Cool place. Busy busy. Nice indoor patio. Had the cauliflower & burratta...delicious. Friend had lentil doup, she said it was bland. They also had the fish special for the day & said it was just "ok." I like the vegetable & large salad selections. Good options for vegetarians.

The food is great. The craft cocktails are delicious (try the Torch). The patio is perfect for sunny Michigan weather. The service can be slow at times, but thats the luck of the draw. Some of the severs are exceptional; a few arent.

The food was great. Good atmosphere and the service was great. The only issue I had was the portions were a bit small for a $26 plate of halibut. I will definitely be going back to try the pizza.

The place was packed for what reason I dont know, the pizza was not that good kinda thick for this style pizza and everything else we ordered was not good at all. Spiced nuts, wing rib plate.

Food and drinks are good, the furniture is very unconfortable. No place to leave coats or purses. They dont take reservations. Good spot for a couple of drinks but not to stay a long time.
