So, the first time I came to DT, I was 14 (2009) getting my navel pierced. The person at the counter was extremely rude, but then the piercer jumped in and made the experience wonderful. Next visit, I was 18(2013), getting my first tattoo. The only person I interacted with that day was the artist, Sam. He was great! He explained the sanitation, told me to always make sure I see everything being opened in front of me... it was just awesome. Third time, I interacted with Sam only, except to do my paperwork. The receptionist tried to accuse me of having a fake ID. Which I did not. But that eventually got taken care of. Fourth time, Sam wasnt available. I met with a different artist in advance to discuss a tattoo, he gave me a price estimate, I made my deposit, things were good. Except for the random guy behind the counter who decided to tell me my tattoo was tacky. Classy. Anyway, the day I came back, the artist claimed to have forgotten me and had not done the drawing yet. I ended up waiting another week. The fifth tattoo experience was ok, besides the artist take FIVE cigarette breaks in an hour and a half, WHILE I was on the table. Whatever. Then I went to get my nostril pierced which was a pleasant experience overall. I only dealt with the piercer. All was fine. 4/5. And then. The tale to end all tales. I went to get my industrial pierced for $13 on Friday the 13th. SURPRISE, they werent $13, despite me calling the day before to see if an industrial would be 13 or 26 and I was assured by some girl that it would be $13. Anyway, I was there when the doors opened to beat the crowd. I waited 2 hours, watching everyone go before me. So I went up to the counter and said word for word "Ive been waiting a while and I just want to make sure I didnt miss anything I was supposed to do to be put on the list." Then, the owner turns to me and accuses me of being rude and making a scene, tells me he doesnt need me over his shoulder, everyone has been waiting, I just need to wait. So I then tell him that I was here before the doors even opened. Then he sent me back to get my piercing. No apologies. Even though I could physically see where my name had been plainly skipped over on the list. My piercing is awful. The angle is terrible. The bar is way too short. And its pushing on the other crease of my ear so hard that its left a dent and I fear it will reject. Oh, and as I was leaving, he was agreeing to give a group of girls their piercings for free because they waited 45 minutes. Way to be fair, Daron. The quality of this place has plummeted. It used to be the only shop I would go to. But I plan to never revisit. The work is ok, the prices are sky high, and the service has declined in 7 years. Sad to say that I no longer have a tattoo shop home.

I am a paramedic in Black Mountain and also a parent of a fifteen year old.I had the opportunity to meet the staff of Diamond Thieves about 6 months ago while they were doing a benefit for an injured dog named Founder.I got tattooed that night from Mike and later that week came back for some piercings.Since then I have become quite the regular at there shop and i think its an awesome place. After spending some time in the shop today and looking over some of the posts on here with Daron well I am appalled.Get it together people!Daron did two of my piercings below the belt and did an excellent job,his sterile techniques and bedside manner were way above average as well.I brought my wife in there and she got two micro dermals from Daron and a hood piercing from Kri.Let me tell you this they were not free at all but they were well worth the money we paid.I have hours upon hours of medical training and experience and honestly there shop is kept cleaner then most medical facilities.Recently i took my daughter in there for her fifteenth birthday where she got her belly button pierced. All of my families tattoos and piercings have healed great from Diamond Thieves and we recommend everyone to go there,i actually carry a stack of there cards with me.Now on to something that really burns me up!I know Daron keeps a clean drug free environment for his employees to work in and for there clients to benefit, this is why i came back in the first place. He has been nothing but respectful both in and out of the shop to me and my family.Like he said today there are two body piercing apprentices and they are both females and they are in the room when piercings go on,as they were in there when my wife and daughter got there piercings.Sorry but I just dont see him or anyone there ever saying or doing the things you are accusing him of and your sick for even coming up with this idea. Not to forget your name is Mother? In the next sentence your a boyfriend? The next sentence your under 18?If this in fact did happen then why didnt you take legal action? Why is this the only review you have ever left on anything on google?I could go on with this forever. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to destroy the integrity of someone who in my professional opinion we are very lucky to have at our service and whose business is very successful because others recognize this to.Thank you Diamond Thieves for all you have done for us I will be back in there soon to get a tattoo by Chris Whinslow,Dont let the haters bring you down.

I really hate to give any business such a poor review. Unfortunately, I feel Diamond Thieves should NOT be piercing anybody. My boyfriend received a truly great tattoo from one of the artists, but after my piercing/jewelry experience I really cannot say Ill be supporting this business. My first time in, I came seeking an industrial bar ear piercing. My friend who was watching while I got the piercing said that it did not seem to go smoothly. Both the needle and the jewelry seemed to catch and did not go through my ear smoothly. Seeing as it still looked good and I didnt mind a little extra pain, I tipped my piercer and went home glad to have my new piercing. Next time I came in to get a nose stud. First off, the stud cost $10! Studs are typically $3-$5. I picked the smallest stud I could find, and than I had to wait forever for the piercer to cut and bend it! When I got home to put in it was twice the size (at least) of the one I had picked, with a cheap plastic jewel in it. After having it in for 7-8 hrs my nose is now swollen and looks infected! In my 6+ years of having my nose pierced, Ive never had a reaction like this. Im so upset that I have to go work my customer service job like this. I dont know WHAT kind of metal they are using, but it is obviously cheap. I believe that is the reason my industrial bar is taking so long to heal correctly. I dont know how else to approach this than to let others know what they could be in for.

This shop exists to swindle tourists. Period. Unfortunately, this time they got someone who lives here, and I plan to tell everyone I ever meet not to patron this place. Two weeks ago, I went in and asked about a simple lotus hand mandala, black and grey, with a simple symbol in the center. At first, artists Brian and "Sure" quoted me $200 for a tattoo that should have cost no more than $70. When I said I didnt have that much money and turned to leave, they re-approached me and said "Ok, ok, how much money do you have?" I wound up paying $140 for a tattoo that took 30 minutes (ripoff), and left thinking "Well, at least I helped a local business." The whole time I was being tattooed by "Sure," the two of them were talking to me about how their entire industry is about smoke and mirrors and swindling people. Fast forward two weeks- the tattoo that I paid double for is terrible (and trust me, I know about aftercare), Ive called three times to speak to Brian to schedule an appointment for a touch up. Each time, hes there but the receptionist wont put him on the phone, Im promised a call back the next day, and it never arrives. These people are SCAMMERS with NO integrity. They dont care about you OR the art, just whats in your wallet. DO NOT EVER BUY A TATTOO HERE. It will be awfully done and they will avoid you afterwards. FAIR WARNING.
