I do NOT recommend computer guru AT ALL. I went to his shop twice and had a terrible experience both times. The first time I went to him, I wanted him to fix my LCD screen on my laptop. He did so promptly, but when I went to pick up my laptop, the screen was held in place by electric tape because BROKE the binding part of my laptop holding the screen in place to remove the old screen. Tacky and unprofessional. He did not tell me of this mistake until I came back to pick up my laptop. He said he could fix it, but he would have to buy me a new piece. No thanks. Then a month later, the LCD screen BROKE. The back light stopped working. I took my laptop back to his shop (which by the way is in the back of a gift shop??), said he could fix my laptop under warranty if it was the LCD screen. An hour later, he called me saying that it was a problem with the LCD screen, but he could not fix it because the screen had been "tempered with." I had done nothing except use my laptop. When I went in to see what he was talking about (his young kids were behind the counter with him, by the way..) a "sticker" was missing from the back of the LCD screen that he accused ME of taking off. The ONLY person to see the back of the LCD screen was him. He said he would offer us free labor, but we would have to pay for a new screen whose price would most likely be higher. This was a way for him to return the piece, and make a profit off of his mistake. We asked for the laptop back; he gave it to us, not once he put it back together, but in pieces. Upon further inspection of the screen he gave back to us, there were multiple labels implying that the screen was not "new and high quality" that he promised, but a refurbished piece of trash. Overall, he is unprofessional, unreliable, and unethical. DO NOT use him.

I called CompuGuru to get estimate to replacing my 2012 iMacs hard drive. He is very professional and helped answer all my questions and complexity around fixing the machine . Although I must say estimate was too high , Just Labor estimate was $450 + parts. For second opinion I took my iMac to Apple store, they fixed it for under $200 ( 79 Labor + 112 parts + tax ) . So I will shop around for sure. Updated on Apr 3. Just wanted to update ... After posting my earlier review , I got a call from the owner explaining misunderstanding and wanted me to take down/update my review. When I called for the quote I was clear as to what I was looking for "to replace the failing hard drive with new one". When I reached out I stated that I have Time Capsule backup so no need to restore or salvage files. He did suggest new options of using SSD. Although it would not work for me as they were expensive and offered less storage, So we dropped the idea and stick HDD drive. In the end, He quoted me $450 + part which I thought was expensive to just replace hdd . Any how It worked out well eventually.

Obviously Josh/James have an over-abundance of time and lack of critical-path data on their systems; which explains entrusting a revenue-generating tool to a bunch of acne-ridden teenagers who recently acquired a ComTIA A+/MCTS for Windows 7 Certification. You go ahead and follow the masses to McGeek ... just dont "order" anything that doesnt have a picture on the register! See Im one of Tushars original clients. Unlike others I loose potential revenue if my system fails, and Tushar is cognizant of this fact. He is very competent, and delivers his service on time, and budget. That is what professionals do; unlike organizations who all but declare their products inferior to gain an "upsell." PLEASE Josh & James by all means take your business elsewhere ... that just allows a TRUE PROFESSIONAL more cycles to concentrate his expertise on individuals who generate cash flow for the economy .........

Best Ever !!!!! Took my 2-3 years old Compaq laptop which had crippled down where it would take a minute or so after every click on the internet practically making it useless. Mr. Modi was quick in diagnosing the problem quickly and after asking me few questions about my primary use, suggested to put in a new Solid State Hard Drive and restoring all my data & programs making it run even better then the day I bought it. Hard to find such a genius working for you at such a reasonable cost. Would not look elsewhere after using Compuguru4u . CompuGuru has been helping our business since 2009 and always been a great help taking care of our Motels wifi network, Front Desk computers and personal laptops. They are like having our in house tech support and always reachable over the phone, ready to support any of these needs remotely

I can not express how gracious I am for Compuguru not only fixing my computer but also offering the best solutions to keep it running at top pace. I run a business out of town when my computer hard drive crashed. I did not have another solution and I was at my wits end. I came in, he immediately accessed the problem and began to do the data recovery. Within 2 days, I was back and up and running!! He recovered all of my files which another company could not even get to and put me in a new hard drive. I called him numerous times after to ask questions and he patiently answered each one. He was extremely helpful and I dont know what I would have done if I had not found him. He is extremely honest and trustworthy. I am so appreciative of his knowledge and welcoming attitude. Thank you compuguru!!!! You are the greatest!!!

My daughters HP Pavilion M6 laptop display was broken by accidental pressure on the case. I called Compuguru4u and got concise, detailed estimates of cost and time to repair depending on whether they had a compatible display on hand or if they would have to order it. After matching up the exact model and display type to their stock, a display was ordered and it arrived a few days later. I dropped off the laptop in early evening and picked it up, back in perfect condition, about noon the following day. The laptop has worked perfectly for two weeks at this point. This is the second time Compuguru4u has rescued a family computer and restored it to health quickly and efficiently at a reasonable price. I feel very lucky to have this business resource just a few minutes from where I live.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST COMPUTER TECHNICIAN I HAVE DEALT WITH: Even though he has not finished my repair, I have never been so satisfied with any other computer repair center in regards to the time he spent talking with me about my computer problem, symptoms and possible solutions. He talked with me more than the last repair center did in three visits. Matter-of-Fact that is why I left my previous repair center and was lucky enough to find COMPUGURU COMPUTER; Tushar simply cares and is willing to listen; Outstanding attribute to have in the computer repair business. I am sorry I did not find his business sooner. He did everything to put my mind at ease. He truly listened and suggested solutions. Will get all my future business. Marty - March 28, 2011
