I had only recently heard of Suffolk Shooting Supply on a LI firearms forum. I promptly stopped by (they are right at the end of Yaphank Ave on the north side of Main St), and was pretty impressed. While the store was small, it was decently stocked, and the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly, gladly taking the time to show me rifles and ammunition, and answer all my questions. Their prices were reasonable, they had some good deals on rifles and ammo. Their transfer fees were $40 for rifles and 45 for handguns, which is good. This is what you should expect when you shop at a small business, fair pricing and good service. I will certainly continue purchasing from Suffolk Shooting Supply.

Recently stopped by to visit Mark and purchased some powder and some primers for 10mm I am currently working on. Being new to reloading he was a tremendous help in recommending the right components for the right outcome. Very knowledgeable guy and a pleasure to both talk to and do business with. His prices saved me over $50 in online HazMat fees and I was able to get my powder and primers on the spot. He has a nice selection of guns and accessories and his prices are on the low side. He now has a customer for life. Please support this local business by stopping by and making your shooting purchases from a local neighborhood guy. You wont be sorry...I guarantee it. 5 STARS from Big Jeff :)

They have a nice selection of handguns, mostly autos. They let me handle several different guns which you would think would be a normal experience in every gun shop, but is not the case in some of the neighboring gun stores. I didnt really look at any of the long guns but it seemed like they had their fair share. FFL transfers are very expensive $55(cash only) but they are down the block from SCPD headquarters. So you can decide if youd rather save money on the transfer fee or save time by not having to make 2 long trips to a different FFL. Id rather save the time.

In a hurry, stopped in to buy a couple of cases of shotgun shells. Absolutely got ripped off, and the counter guy suggested Suffolk Trap & Skeet would cost even more (which is wrong). Ive tried several times to shop here, never again. Usually I keep my purchases local to support local business, but not when the local guy makes a living by ripping off what he perceives to be unwary customers. Avoid this clicky little hobby shop of "gun store". The selection of guns, scopes, long guns and even ammo is poor anyway.

Good service, great selection of firearms and reloading supplies, they are also very reasonable with FFL fees. I found them to be good guys and folks I have sent there to purchase a gun have always said they will take the time to walk you through the basics on every firearm you purchase from them. For all the folks that say the are a little more in price, they have to be to stay in business. It is a small local shop and down the line when you need advise or help I have found they will be there.

Want to support the local shop but, when they moved to new location some new guy took over who seems ok but seems little odd. Regardless of that for what they have everything seems to be marked up $100+ of what everyone else is selling. Small inventory, high prices and a socially awkward kind of snobby guy= on to the next shop.... Ps Baits & barrels in riverhead is now open and have some really nice items.

Great place to buy guns and ammo. Good prices and good people are what makes a great store. Unlike big super stores you will deal with local people that know all aspects of shooting sports and equipment. The location is great to stop in on the way to or from a shooting range or trap and skeet field. The fact that there is a pizza place and deli right next door make the trip destination even better.

Ive stopped in more then once. Apparently when the owner has an audience(friends not customers)hes very short and quick to get back to BSing. The reason you lost my sale is when you thought I was looking only at the gun case I caught you making a that face to your buddy. Save you time go to Freds Gun Shop 47 Jayne Blvd, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776

Small shop, great ammo selection. Not too many selections of accessories. Had a few pistols, some rifles, and a decent amount of shotguns. The guy was very friendly though, has no problem letting you handle the fund if youd like

Went in recently looking for a particular rifle, was greeted nicely by the guy with glasses we even talked for a bit he was very friendly and cool. The other guy who works there looks and sounds like a complete cuck.
