Allow me to preface further remarks by stating that the maximum 5 star rating system provided by Google is woefully inadequate to express the level of excellence that I had the pleasure of experiencing at Maximum Motorsports. I’ve been riding for quite some time, on road, off road, and everywhere in between. As such, I have ridden various types of bikes and purchased them from various dealers, ever in search of a place that I could call “home.” Regardless of where that journey began, it ended in Riverhead at Maximum Motorsports. From the moment I walked in, I had the almost unheard of feeling of being valued both as an individual and as a customer. Well before anything was even mentioned about purchasing a motorcycle, I was greeted (but not smothered) by several friendly individuals, all of whom were extremely knowledgeable about the bike I was looking for, the eagerly anticipated Yamaha FZ-10. Having worked in various retail venues years ago, one of my pet peeves is that almost invariably, I know substantially more about a given product that I need further information about than the store representative does. In addition, it is clear that I am generally an order of magnitude more enthusiastic about a particular product than those typical individuals whose very livelihood depends on selling these products. Aside from the ubiquitous rudeness, inattention (or conversely, suffocation) normally encountered at motorcycle dealerships is the underlying and unmistakable “vibe” of seething hatred and malaise upon entering the establishment. One can feel the overwhelming disdain felt by employees about their coworkers, their employers, and yes without a shadow of a doubt, their customers. What a breath of fresh air is to be found at Maximum Motorsports. People are smiling, courteous, respectful, pleasant to one another, and oddly enough, did not make me feel as though my very presence had just ruined their entire day. I had the distinct pleasure of first meeting Melody, a charming and effervescent woman who is not only a salesperson but also deals with financial matters at Maximum Motorsports. Her zest for the equipment, her job, and seemingly life itself was so readily apparent that it was capable of simply astonishing the uninitiated. Having been treated like a scourge at various dealerships, this was just remarkable to me. Rivaling this zeal was her knowledge of the bikes which again shocked me, not due to her gender, but due to the absolute inability of the typical salesperson to learn anything about their merchandise. Next I was greeted by John, the store’s General Manager. Though I dealt mostly with Melody, he also projected a tremendous degree of professionalism, knowledge, genuine interest, and respect. It was approximately at this time that I expected my alarm clock to ring and realize that I was dreaming. To a lesser degree, I also had opportunity to speak to two other outstanding gentlemen, both sales persons, named Scott and Peter. Truly, one was even nicer than the other. They, both knowing full well that neither one was my salesperson, nevertheless engaged in friendly conversation, offered tremendous insight and personal experiences about motorcycles and riding, and were over the top in their willingness to assist. Even individuals who I did not meet formally behind the counter were unusually pleasant to each other, smiling and offering their assistance. Perhaps most shocking of all was the kind things heard about the owner of Maximum Motorsports. Though I did not meet him, employees described him as a “real sweetheart”. Clearly, this atypical atmosphere is simply not found elsewhere. I could wax poetic about the service, the great price, the photos they took of me and emailed me with my new FZ-10, but perhaps I’ve conveyed at least to a small degree what can be routinely expected at Maximum Motorsports.

Wow, blown away with service and attitude here. My Path to owning a bike was like a land mine from the get go. I decided to start looking for a bike on a Sunday and quickly realized that most dealerships in the city are closed. Looked online and stumbled onto this place that seemed to have nice reviews and great inventory. We drove down from brooklyn and chatted with Scott and John about what we were looking for. Scott took us on a tour of the store showing us bikes and is very knowledgeable about bike types and riding. I went ahead and committed to a Triumph Bonneville. Scott handled the correspondence with the DMV/insurance company and within a week I was all set to go. (Or was I) Came back the following Sunday with a Uhaul trolley attached to a truck to put the bike in. After paying for the bike and getting ready to load up, Scott realized the Uhaul trolley had a flat. We called Uhaul for assitance but they stated it would take about 2 hours to get a guy there to fix. Upon hearing this the team at this location scrambled to get some tools and help patch and inflate the tire so I could get back home. ( I was driving a zip car) I know it is a long drive here but when I upgrade my bike, these folks have my business as they are friendly, priced reasonably and genuinely care for their customers and folks in general.

These guys have won my loyalty !! I bought an Fx-15 jetski last year, and regretably listened to one of the previous posts.. I ended up buying it in Oakdale, and wish I had not. When I took it to Oakdale for servicing they told me I had to take it to their Seaford location. This was totally not convenient as I live in Wading River. I brought it in to Maximum in Riverhead and was given an estimate to fix the problem.. The ski was 1 month outside warranty. All along they were totally professional. The service manager explained that he was going to see if they could get Kawasaki to p/u some of the cost, even thought the warranty had expired. When I stopped back to p/u the ski I was prepared to pay close to $400, but much to my suprise the new service manager John informed me that he was able to get Kawasaki to cover the whole repair. Top notch!!! Even though I made the mistake of purchasing at another dealer, these guys have earned my business. Honest and Proffessional...what more could you be looking for. Its easy to post a negative comment annonimously...but when someone takes the time to recognize a favorable response that should speak volume. John O

Service Manager Chris is rude and unprofessional. I called in to schedule the first service for my motorcycle and when he found out I had purchased the bike out of state he wanted nothing to do with me, put me on hold with out saying a thing. when he gets back on the phone after several minutes I expressed my disappointment about having to wait on the phone and for putting me on hold with out saying anything. He then says and i quote: "Sir what is your problem." I say I dont have a problem he says we have other customers waiting here "why dont you take your motorcycle elsewhere" not the way to treat customers calling your dealer for the first time. Will never ever ever go there or do business with this dealer as long as this Guy Chris is involved.

I walked into the dealership just to waste time while my cousin was buy a bike across the street. But John the sales manager was simply amazing, he has mannerism like ive never seen before, he made me an offer that i couldnt turn down! he was never pushing, honest and up front guy! No tricks, no "come on sit down" No "lets do paperwork 1st" Gave me the number right away, no games, just business! I love it! I live an hour away from this dealership and i have been to others like "Island sport" (they are horrible) I will keep coming back here as long as I ride motorcycles. Also Chris ( the most patient person in history) in service has been simply amazing with a few problems and upgrades im dealing with. thank you for your help guys!
