Bought a bike on eBay listed by this dealer. Misleading ad with a wall of text at the top and fine print at the bottom I did not notice initially, stating no title and dealer conveyance fee due on pickup. Immediately after the auction ended I contacted the seller and determined CT did not issue titles for older bikes but he would provide a bill of sale and CT Q-1 transfer of ownership form. I said I was available the next day to pick up the bike (half a days drive for me) but would have to confirm with my local DMV in the morning that they would issue a title with paperwork provided. Called seller as instructed once I had confirmed everything was good with local DMV, no answer, left voicemails stating everything was good and I wanted to come pick it up that day but wanted confirmation of the amount expected for payment and what the conveyance fee was for. At this point Kaplan Cycles ceased all communication, no returned phone calls or answers to further emails where I requested clarification on the dealer conveyance fee and availability to coordinate a pickup time. Eventually Kaplan Cycles responded with two snarky emails stating they had sold the bike to someone else for more money. I believe Kaplan Cycles is running a bait and switch scam, charging additional money off the books with eBay so they can recover auction listing fees. They likely hope nobody notices or asks up front since they bury the fine print under a wall of text not relevant to the bike they are selling, then spring this on people after they have spent time and money to drive from far away to pick up so they will not be in a good negotiating position. At worst they are running a scam, or at best they simply cant be bothered to return calls or emails and lack integrity. Beware doing business with Kaplan Cycles.

Ken contacted me about a bike I had for sale on eBay, saying he was interested and wanted to see it. He asked for my address, phone number and additional photos. I gave him the info and never heard back from him. Sent him an email asking what had happened, and he never replied. As a business owner, he should have had the decency and courtesy to respond.
