BORDERLINE ABUSIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Hard to believe that when a bicyclist is stranded with a broken deraileur, that the OWNER OF A BIKE SHOP would tell him "Thats your problem." I had jerry-rigged my bike to get to the shop, at which point I was told to "make my way back to Red Hook nice and slow" and that he didnt want to work on "old junk." The old junk in question is my most prized possession, a light blue Vitus with a half-Mavic, half-Campagnolo group. When I asked if there was any way he could help me out of this tight spot, he said "Its gonna cost some money" - much like the stereotypical toothless mechanic in the middle of the desert from countless scenes in cheesy movies. AWFUL PEOPLE. NOT BICYCLISTS. I would suggest you take your business to someone with a heart.

What kind of business in the visitors town of Rhinebeck doesnt have long distance service on their phone? Rhinebeck Bicycle Shop! They offer tune-ups and bike rentals, but they wouldnt be able to call you if your phone number is outside of their 845 area code. They quoted me $50 for a tune-up and tried to charge me over $90 without calling me first (even though I gave them my phone number AND called them the next day to follow up with another question I had about a product; wondering whether they carried it or not.) The guys were total condescending jerks and acted like they didnt need my business. I will never recommend them to anyone or go in there if it were a matter of life and death.

I am an avid cyclist and have been a patron of both the Rhinebeck Bike Shop and Bike Brothers in Kingston for 2 years. Dave and Marty really know their bikes and will make sure that the bike you purchase fits you perfectly. I expected to read similar reviews on this site, but was disappointed by the previous rating. Far from being condescending, Dave and Marty are among the most conscientious, honest, and helpful business owners I have ever met. I would (and do) recommend them to all my friends.

Stopped into the Rhinebeck bicycle shop today and I had a really good time. I got to talk to the owner, Marty? Sorry if I messed that up but we got talking for about 15-20 minutes about all things bike and other things. Really a nice guy and pretty nice shop. Very knowlagable and friendly. Havent had any repairs there but I would definitely go back
