The guy was extremely rude when I went in to get my keys made. He took a while to answer simple questions because he was busy moving a few tools around. I gave him 2 keys and asked him to make a copy for each. He gives me back two keys that look exactly the same, and I asked if he made sure to copy each key, and not the same one twice. He didnt look confident when he said yes, but I foolishly took his word for it. When I got home, I saw that the two keys were the same, as they opened only one lock. Mind you, I live in queens, and coming back here would really be an inconvenience. Not only that, I dont think hell refund me because of the type of guy he seemed, and he didnt give me a receipt. Even after I go back in 2 days, I dont think hell give me a refund or make the second key a copy for free. Please dont do business here. The other positive reviews seem fake.

This is the best store of its kind for miles around! The... This hardware is packed with stuff. Other hardwares seem empty compared to this place. This is the best hardware in probably a 20 block radius and it is because it has most anything you need. Render Paint & Hardware sells paints and paint supplies but they know what they are doing and do it well. Sales guys gave me good advice about what type of paint to use, supplies needed, and tips for the project. Only time I have ever seen Home Depot give a similar level of service is in their ads on TV.Render is amazing. They professional, and troubleshooted my issues minimizing the expense to me. I loved the serviceman, Jeff. I have never had a service professional walk me through all the issues and explain the solution. I highly recommend them and will only use them to service my property in the future.

I needed a few things for an apartment. Everything was $5 - a putty knife, small container of spackle, light bulb, drywall anchors (2 for $3). OK its New York on a Saturday and this is close. Yes, I am paying at least 2X retail. I get to the register where to unkempt guy in a dirty t-shirt is to take my money. Hes working on some tool belt and lets me stand there for 20 seconds so I will appreciate that he condescends to serve me. Yes, there is a sign "no charge cards for purchases under $10." Obviously not my problem with the prices. Then he fools around with my card for more than a minute, claiming his machine wasnt working. Then after another minute or two he claimed my card was rejected. Really, the one I used for the cab?? Did he just want the cash? Disgusted, I walked out. Home Depot is a few stops north on the subway.

Horrible experience. Bought a product that was cracked, guy tells me I did it and was lying and over 20 years everyone comes back to say its broken when they did it. Obviously they wouldnt replace it. I called my bank right in front of them and disputed not just for the price of that item but the entire purchase amount. Told them they now are at a lost for even more due to their poor customer service. I read someone elses review here prior to return and knew that they would say it was my fault. I dont recommend purchasing anything from a place where the customer is yelled at and told they are lying. Id rather haul across town to Home Depot for legit products.

What can i tell you..reading some of these reviews its a joke.. complaining about not having a rest room or selling a putty knife for $5 ....really??? hello this is midtown .... I love this store the owner keeps it real and speak the honest truth ... he always helps me with my house projects... yes the prices are different then home depot but taking the area and his knowledge under consideration its worth every dollar... I recently needed to change a lock, the lock smith wanted 350.00 it costed me 150.00 i saved 200.00 because he gave me clear instructions how to do it my self and gave me all the correct products... thank you for being in the neighborhood.

Rude!!!! I got yelled at repeatedly for unnecessary things. Never experienced worst customer service. They also have a sign that says "we are not a flea market, we are a well organized hardware service, absolutely no returns or exchanges" but most flea markets are exceptionally organized compared to the store and they probably should offer refunds considering the lack of consideration in a customer and high probability in error. I went in to get keys copied and I was not asked how many, what kind of key, or given a price- just yelled at. I should have taken my key back and went elsewhere.

They always have what we need and are happy to help us look for it in the store. This is not your over-friendly/anything-for-you big box store whose return policy you can abuse. Its a small business owner who knows his stuff and is forthcoming with useful advice if you ask. Also, its New York- get used to having some cash on you.
