Babcock bikes is where i go. I ride all year... and they have, or can get everything i need. You have to build a relationship with your bikeshop if you do not want to do all the work yourself. Babcocks Has treated me right. BC bicycles tried to charge me 10 dollars for 1 screw that i found at Fastenal for 3$ and i got a bag of 50 of them. Chenango Point (before they moved, and i think they have new ownership im not sure) could do nothing for my fender problem for my touring bike. they said the fenders were garbage and that none of their fenders would fit my bike. they reccomended i buy a new bike. they also made fun of an electric motorized pedal assist i had on one of my bikes. All of this was before Matt Guiles worked there, i have nothing but respect for him and his work ethic but the previous experience left a bad taste in my mouth. i did not like the feeling of going in there and feeling like i was looked down upon because i wasnt a racer, i was a commuter. Things have probably changed over there since they moved But things at Babcocks have not and thats a good thing. Kevin took my fenders and fixed them. He didnt replace them, he fixed them... and 5 years later they still function on that bike. the little extras like getting your derailler cleaned for no charge on top of my order was great. Kevin and John never looked down on my Biking habits, in fact they showed me many products that might encourage them. Thats how it should be done, they make money and i walk out with what i need. They sell Brooks saddles, which are the best in my opinion for my kind of Constant biking. They sold me studded tires for winter riding... they found the kind i wanted and did not just stick to nokian like other bike shops did. I got my schwalbes. They went through an annoying process to get a bike i wanted that took 6 months! but they got it when no one else could and he even through a free bottle in for my trouble. You have to develop a relationship with a bike shop. Babcocks is there to help you ride the way you want to. If your looking to drop 150$ on a bike go to walmart... If you are serious, and want to be treated with respect by knowledgeable and helpful staff, go to babcocks.

I have a disability and have very specific needs in a bike. The workers there helped me find the EXACT fit bike for me. They are very patient and helpful with customers. They have always been helpful with my husband and myself. They even put a bike rack on my car and took time to show me exactly how to secure my bike. I highly recommend their services and am quite shocked to see the low ratings. The one thing I would recommend is to have earlier opening business hours. THANK YOU BABCOCK BIKES FOR YOUR WONDERFUL SERVICE AND FOR NOT TREATING ME ANY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER CUSTOMERS :)

These people know what they are doing, plain and simple.They wont steer you in a direction you dont want to go; they wont try to sell you something you dont need. For example: I had kevin build me a set of wheels, he provided me with information as to the various options and the associated costs. He DID NOT automatically go "high end" and assume that I was too ignorant to know the difference. Integrity and trust sealed the deal!

I bought a bike from there, and absolutly love it. The owner himself helped me with getting what I wanted at a great price. Even though I was told by another employee there was a bike almost like the one I was getting there for a bit less, I was happy paying for the trek I wanted. I get the most compliments on my bike and asked where I got it from. Always tell em Babcocks

Quick service. Paid More than I should have. Purchased 3 inner tubes ALL to big for tire. Innertubes kept losing air no holes present, 2nd inner tube wont hold air dont feel like being bothered anymore with the store. Resealable inner tubes are sold at Wal-Mart for 1/2 the price. Will drive the 3 extra lights next time.

I had never been to a bike shop before and they spent well over three hours with me helping me pick out my first road bike and all the accessories I needed. Such a knowledgeable and friendly staff. Always willing to help with any questions I have. I happily drive over an hour to see them whenever I have questions.

over priced and sleazy business. 10 years ago they were more reputable, but now they sell customers contact information. If youre a rich person who likes being treated like trash by all means use them, but if you like honest buisnesses who respect customers and their privacy, use another bike shop

I just was at there store the guy behind the counter did not want to be bothered and when I asked him a question he was rude and insulting I and my wife were going to buy two bikes from them tonight I wont bye anything thing from them that is no way to do business

Ive been there three times, I think. Once was great, once was ok, and once I was made to feel quite unwelcome. The prices are higher than most. If you dont mind the terrifying ride down Main st to Binghamton, Id strongly suggest Chenango Point by the Arena over Babcock.

Always consistent with their great service. Employees KNOW their products! I have learned a lot from them. Its nice to see the same faces each time I go there. The store is spotless and well organized. A terrific place to shop!

They let you test ride a bike outside. They will let you test ride it on a trainer inside but how do you judge a bikes characteristics on a trainer? Sorry but I wont buy a car without taking it on the road... Nor a bike either!

Wasnt thrilled to showed up to pick up my bike, to find out they will be closed for at least three days, with my bike inside the store. I stopped shoping there before, and now I remember why. Cant wait to miss the nice weather

Went here looking for a new bike. Was told they dont allow outside test rides. Never heard of a bike shop that does that and Im not sure how you can intelligently pick out a bike under those conditions...

Terrible pricing for bikes you can find online for a fraction of the cost at babcock. You can buy a very decent used car for these prices.
