Im so happy there is still a bookstore in the neighborhood. They have a wide variety of books and are more than willing to special order anything they dont have on stock. I love the pre-order option so that you are guaranteed a copy the day the book come out. My favorite section is the staff picks - Ive read several books from there that I loved and would have never picked up on my own. Like all good bookstores there are seats so you flip through the books before making your choice. They also have a cat, which every good store in Brooklyn needs.

The last independent bookseller on 7th Avenue between Flatbush and 9th Street (and a good deal more territory). They have an excellent range of books and an incentive system for repeat customers in the form of a readers club ($10 off after buying $100 of books, I think). A couple of comfortable places to sit. An area in back for kids (important in Park Slope). Community Bookstore has changed hands a couple of times in recent years, and the owners now are terrific — very friendly and helpful. There are also several great reading series.

I live in the neighborhood so I go in here quite a bit. The employees are knowledgeable, even if they do have a habit of hanging out by the cash registers and talking loudly about themselves. And Im always amazed that, after Ive spent probably $1K here over the past 10 years, they STILL have to ask if Im in the stores "Frequent Buyers Club." But the selection is solid, the back outdoor area is a nice respite, and the place is definitely convenient. Glad its still around.

Come here not only for books, but to snag your latest copy of Edible Brooklyn. Wander the aisles, feel free to lean-and-leaf through a book. Theres always a cat flopped somewhere in the store, using a stack of books as a pillow and having a snooze. If youre lucky, youll also see a giant, sweet old dog curled up in a corner; just step over him, hes friendly. So is the staff - theyll happily answer any questions you have. I like it here.

While the bookstore isnt big by means, it certainly makes up its lack of physical presence via a great selection (and prices). spent a good hour in here with the lady and could have easily spent another. made out like a bandit with some classics I havent read since grade school, too. will be back.

I love this place, Ive been going for years. A "classic" bookstore staffed by book lovers who happen to be on the pleasant end of the book lover spectrum. Special orders are handled quickly and their frequent flyer discount is great. And they have a great cat.

Deliziosa piccola libreria dove comprare romanzi famosi o farsi consigliare piccoli tesori nascosti.

Great little bookstore with a nice area in the back to read. Their selection on the middle tables always has great stuff that jumps right out at you. Almost like a park slope Strand.

Bookstore clerks should be friendly, at least a little bit. This place falls well short in that category.
