SELLERS READ BEFORE VISIT! My wife and I drove from Silver Spring to sell some books because we were moving. The staff was pleasant but we were caught off guard when they only took 10 books from our 3 rubbermaid totes. We got $4 cash (declined $10 in store credit). Before you haul your assortment of books up like we did, leave your Harry Potters, Tom Clancys and "eat pray love" at home. Youll do your back a favor. I was a little fumed leaving, declined their kind offer to help load our "rejects," and took our money (that was the fuel cost of this trip). On the way back I realized, they are a business and occupy a small store in a strip mall (not like Acres of Books in LA or Strand in NYC). If you think your Da Vinci Code book collection is something they want, watch a Pawn Stars marathon and reconsider. Theyll only take books that they dont already have and can sell. BTW they have a cordoned-off kids section and it was easy to entertain our small children during the appraisal.

Cool staff, and nice store but be aware you wont get allot of money for your records if your trying to sell them. I sold 30 records including many Frank Santanas for $35 which in all honesty is not allot. SO SELLERS keep that in mind. They are after all a business and like any other are looking to make a profit. But I will be fare in saying from a buyers perspective they have a ton of cool stuff at this place. Hence the three star review but again if your looking to make a decent amount of money by selling books and records Id recommend looking elsewhere.

Love coming here! Lots of fun things to look at and buy. My wife and I went here to find books that we are missing from our collection. Most prices are inexpensive, unless its a super popular book, then it will be a discounted price but not as much as the rest of the lot. The staff is very knowledgeable and very nice. They have a great sci-fi and fantasy collection.

This is one of my favorite used book stores. Membership pays for itself if you buy more than a handful of books per year, and I have yet to be disappointed with the selection. Books literally overflow from every shelf, so expect to spend your visit digging through piles of books in search of buried treasures! Overall, definitely an experience I would recommend!

Have to agree with the first reviewer -- brought in a lot of books and they took hardly any, and the exchange rate was really, really low. I know they have to make a profit, but Ive been to other second-hand book stores that gave a lot more for the number of books they accepted. So, that was a disappointment. Plus, their prices for used books are a little high.

If you love books, youll love Second Edition Books. I go every Saturday for my weekly treasure hunt. Not just mainstream fiction: comics, manga, kids books, CDs, DVDs, records, and a great collection of non-fiction. Great, friendly help.
