Horrible service. Was insulted by a hipster looking twig like man for wearing a Bernie Sanders shirt. Didnt know not subscribing to right wing and alt right politics makes one a heretic. Will never go back to this place again as I came to get a cup of coffee and a prayer book as I was passing through and instead got derided because my secular politics didnt conform to pope baristas views of what he thinks I must believe to be Orthodox. If this coffee house is to successfully share the Faith deriding people in a pompous and judgmental manner isnt going to do it. Unfortunately the Orthodox Church is crawling with these alt-right, white nationalist and hard right bigots who see the church as a vehicle for their war on the culture as opposed to a ship of salvation.

Being a restaurant manager myself I felt it was great ambiance I could totally sit there for hours. However when I got to the register it was a different story. I ordered 2 muffins and a coffee. I nothing on me but big Bills. Which she asked me if I had anything smaller and I didnt . now like I said being a restaurant manager I have very high customer service expectations. I dont want to say it was a race issue. Being that there was a black guy behind me. My advice is your in the heart of downtown harrisburg. You either treat everyone like they have a corporate job or treat them all like crap either way we notice. I dont think Ill be returning. But I did love the ambiance of the place.

This is my go to coffee shop in Harrisburg. > Atmosphere is great. Im Protestant, not Orthodox, but I love the Orthodox music and aesthetic of the coffee shop. > Good coffee. The only negative Ive heard about Agia Sophia is that its not Little Amps. Little Amps has very good coffee, but its very, very strong. I dont mind grabbing a cup from them in the morning but for the afternoon pick me up, I much prefer Agia Sophia. > Government and student discount. Government employees get 15% off on Mondays and students always get 10% off. > Proceeds benefit local charities. The charity varies from month to month.

Great coffee, baked goods, delicious soups with fresh baked bread served in REAL bowls with real silverware. Take your meal to a variety of seating -- cozy or quick -- and come away feeling satiated and content. Very satisfying lunch for a reasonable price. Despite the feeling youre in a place of worship, they wont preach to you unless youd like to receive the good word. And always a chance to donate to a rotating good cause.

There are almost always 2 *delicious* homemade vegetarian soups available daily. With that, you get a piece of homemade bread. Very reasonable price for the soup. They also have quiches and baked desserts which are also tasty. The space is open yet cozy and comfortable. The staff is very pleasant. In addition, they donate profits to local charities and many donate their time to the shop as well. Highly recommended!

I have been going here for a couple of years and I enjoy it every time. The iced and hot teas are delicious as well as the coffees. The homemade soups have always been superior. And, knowing that my money is going to a charity of the month, I feel good every time I eat here. The baked goods are yummy also! Highly recommend
