This Supermarket has deteriorated tremendously within the past year. It used to be a top-rated place to shop, but now it is so below par. I used to love the fact that there was parking underground which was convenient in bad weather. While the moving ramps are constantly breaking down and cannot be used, at least there are elevators. For the past few weeks, the smell in the parking garage has increasingly become unbearable. Last night when I got out of my vehicle, I had to hold my breath -- it smelled like dead animals -- the garbage smell was so overwhelming. The deli kiosk, which is put in place to make your deli ordering more convenient, has been broken for a few months now. A few weeks ago, my husband actually left because it had been an hour and his order was still not filled. He received a text an hour after he arrived home stating his order was ready for pick up! When I was there last night, even the ticket machine was out of order and there was this very long and unorganized line to place the deli order. It was so disappointing that I actually left the store and drove to another town to shop. The store needs a serious over-hall and cleaning to get it back to the shape it was in when it was first opened. The management used to care about how the store looked and if customers were satisfied -- now it just feels like the management feel they are the only store in that area, so they do not have to try. Very sad...

Im giving it one star, because Google wont let you do zero stars. Its the worst grocery store Ive ever shopped. EVER! Poor produce. The self check out lanes arent open in the morning, half the time. The other half the time, theyre incredibly glitchy and prone to malfunction. Then you have to wait for someone to get around to fixing it while youre in mid check-out. Today, I just walked out after standing there for 10 min - nobody in sight. (Yes, that was me). Youll find my card somewhere on the floor (thrown in frustration). I will NEVER go back to this or any other stop & shop

The experience was not a pleasant one the store advertise that they have a scan it system but does everything they can possible do prevent you from using it. We ask for bags and the clerk gives us 3. We had to hunt for more. At check out we were unable to pay becuase the check card for the scan it device was only at 2 register. The clerk. No where was there a sign stating where to go and the clerk thought it was best for us to leave the line rather than go getting the card so we can pay.

One of the first Stop and Shop supermarkets Ive ever been to since first moving to NJ. Even though there is one closer to me in South Orange (became stop and Shop after taking over from Pathmark), I always find my way back to this one on Stuyvesant. Food is always fresh and staff is friendly. Make sure to pick up a store circular so you dont miss the sales which are common each week.

Called here to order a platter on 4-12-17 and asocaites are dopes. Waited about 10 minutes on hold and when the asocaite picked up couldnt get a right awnser. The asocaites also say when they pick up the phone "Hello" not "Hello Stop & Shop Of Union can I help you. They also do not have Scan It Guns Here.

It has large variety of products but customer service as far as checking out does not seem to be a priority. Some of the cashiers act as having a question is a problem. They have conversations over customers and will not assist some would rather stand there then to get customers in and out

Great customer service but the girl at the express checkout line was horrible unfriendly nasty unprofessional we need to greet our customers with a smile no matter how bad the situation is and besides Smiles always help you feel better so for that I leave you with three stars

Big store. Top parking lot is ridiculous, the pavement doesnt react well to tires (it doesnt let the tires grip it, not just my car i watched others have the same problem in the top parking lot). The employees are helpful and friendly. Isles are kinda oddly organized.

Not clean anymore and ice cream is outdated. Who knows what else is. It started out as a beautiful store but its going down hill. Could use a good power wash on the walkways and garage areas. I do think the employees are very nice and are hard workers.

Not enough cashiers. Self Checkout was ok before but latest improvements are a mess! Hopefully, just working out the bugs of a new system. And, why are they discouraging reusuable bags? Give me place to set a bag down to pack!

The meats and vegetables are fresh. One of my favorite is the section-theres free Banana and oranges for kids under 10 years old. My daughter always get one to eat as we food shop. I also love the self check.

Not crazy about the new self check out. Takes to long to weigh bags. Keeps telling you to put them back. Also dont like the spinning bags at regular checkouts. Always feel like Im leaving something behind.

No good strawberries and bananas were all to ripe. Then when it was time to check out there were only two registers open. Forced to scan myself. Why should I have to work then pay. Go somewhere else

Great location for grocery shopping. They have a huge parking garage but it seems like no one likes to use it because the main lot is always packed and people are always struggling to find parking

Convenient, and prices are good, but always long lines and they stock items inconsistently. The produce selection is good, but not always the freshest. Great place to get Caribbean ingredients.

Its pretty much always open and usually not to crowded. The only thing is that sometimes they have entire sections of shelves are empty. But besides that the store is great.
