Im glad to be moving out of Sayerville, because this Shop Rite is too unreliable to shop at, and I cant afford to get all of my groceries at Wegmans. If you plan on using your produce same day, go for it. But Ive had tomatoes go to mush and green peppers mold within 2 days. I expect my veggies to stay fresh longer than that. Four times... FOUR TIMES I have had to throw away meals because the meat I got in their meat department was terrible quality. I have a lot of cooking experience, and never cook my chicken breast past 150 degrees, but four times Ive had chicken breasts that came out with that rubbery, tough texture of twice-frozen chicken. No matter what brand of poultry I buy from this location, I get the same issue. An entire pot of chicken soup went in the garbage because the bone-in chicken breast I roasted for it was like eating tire shreds. I unfortunately didnt realize it until it was already shredded and mixed in. Bad storage practices KILLS poultry quality. Last night was the final straw: I came home from work late, but still determined to cook a full meal. They had this pre-breaded panko chicken breast that looked good enough. When I got it home and began cooking 30 minutes later, I lost all hope. The breading was squishy and sopping wet right out of the package, probably from being stored poorly. I tried my best to pan sear it and roast it the rest of the way to 150 degrees, but it came out inedibly tough. My husband and I dont like throwing away food, ESPECIALLY meat products, but this went straight in the trash. I am not a gambling man, especially when it comes to my ingredients. If you can find it in your budget to shop at Wegmans or another Shop Rite location, GO FOR IT. Ive never had the inconsistent quality issues at any other grocery store.

I just moved to Parlin in December. This shoperite is nicer then the one in Bayonne, where im from. The staff here are very helpful and knowledgeable about the sections of the stores. Talked to a casher from Nebraska that was very nice, forgot her name. The fish area seems pretty well kept and no fishy smell. The produce section is abundant from what im used to and well kept. The isles have just enough spacing for two carts to pass, Bayonnes are so tight you cant pass one another. I will frequent this asablishment.

Im familiar with this shoprite since I worked at EB and covered here a few times for peoples vacation. I wont talk about the mice in the back room. But, came back to town on a visit and got a few sale items, cashier wouldnt let me use a "store card" or even another customers, I felt like he was the sale police. I didnt buy anything after that just left my groceries walked out and went to EAST BRUNSWICK. both Saker owned stores but atleast EB store let me use a store card for sale items...

This is a great ShopRite. Not only that its now becoming a Super ShopRite. Everyone that works in that ShopRite is very very polite and very nice they cant do enough to help you even when you go to your car with your bags boys will ask you if you need help and if you try to tip them they do not want to accept it they cannot be more accommodating and very nice ShopRite to visit and shop in.

Meat department sells meat with older meat underneath the nice red stuff on top. I have brought back many foul smelling packages that still had a week left on the expiration. Ground beef always has grayish meat folded inside. Shady practices. I even talked to the lady at the return counter who works there who said she doesnt buy meat there any longer.

I started shopping here in September, after trying the local Wal-Mart(which was just terrible). I dont buy cakes so youll have to read the other reviews for that. The store has a good selection of most things. Im from Texas so I can say with confidence there is a very poor selection of Mexican foods, which we missed greatly while living here.

Its a great store, the only problem is that the aisles are too narrow, so its a pain to move in there with your shopping cart. Everything else is awesome, it has excellent service, a lot of excellent products and it always has enough cashiers in service. Also it closes at 12 AM in case you prefer to do your shopping at night.

The overall store is good. Just the bakery department needs some updating. They used to have good cakes. We just ordered one and it had more icing them filling. The design was sub optimal at best. Cake was fair. Filling was ok as it was canned. Wal Mart on 18 makes far better cakes and greater selections of designs.

Not impressed with this store at all. The produce is terrible and the ladies at the customer service counter are usually rude, even when I have called to ask about a lost item. The cashiers and floor people are usually very nice, along with the people at the fish and meat counters.

Clean, consumer friendly, well stocked aisles, great weekly sales and best of all a wonderful staff from top to bottom that are always happy to help. Everyone is greatly anticipating the expansion and renovation completion and the Grand Opening of the largest in NJ~

Shop rite is the best supermarket in the state of New Jersey. All products and services are outstanding, and the qualities of fresh fruits and vegetables are ready for each consumer to enjoy.

The staff always pleasant and courteous, store kept clean, food is fresh and pricing is average, store hours are very good. On a scale of ten this ShopRite on Ernston Rd is a solid nine.

Seems like the prices on everything in the store went up since the remodeling started. Who ever heard of 5 $ for a pound of butter. They use to be 2for 5.

They need way more healthy/ natural/ organic options. Items show up & then are never to be seen again. Hopefully the remodel will bring improvements.
