I have no idea what the store is like but I can tell you that I had a very negative experience with their mail order department. I ordered shoes that were not only clearly NOT the size I ordered but not as advertised. They were expensive shoes but showed up looking like sweat shop knock offs. I IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THEM and was assued they stood behind their products, yet they did not process my credit. I returned the items the SAME DAY. Contacted them when I confirmed the arrival of the package via USPS and was again told they would credit me. Again, no credit After more than a week I called again, and spoke to an incredibly rude woman who called me a liar and said they never received them. I called her up with the USPS tracking number, she said she would process the credit, and yet again, IT WAS NOT DONE. A few days later, I had to fax the same USPS receipt. She told me (reluctantly I might add) that she would now process the credit. My credit card company still says they never received the credit, and I have had to tell them that if it doesnt get processed soon I will seek legal action. You would think a large company like this would stand by the promises on their web site and also understand the concept of customer service. I will NEVER order a single item from them ever again.

It pains me to give Campmor a below average rating, but I must. On a recent visit, I was causally browsing the camping section when two employees were loudly complaining about one of their coworkers. I worked retail long enough to completely sympathise with the nature of the conversation, but it so interfered with my shopping experience to really deter me from buying. Also, I first came to Campmor as a young teen in the mid 1990s. The place hasnt received an upgrade since then. Yes, this can result in a bit of a warm, nostalgic feel...but only temporarily. It may be because it sits smack in the heart off Paramus high-end shopping district, but the aged facility is also really hurting this establishment. Two positives are: (1) pricing on name brand products often include good discounts (2) tent repair shop is a one of a kind part of this busoness.

Absolutely the best. I have been going to Campmor for years. The staff is extraordinarily knowledgeable, great selection, competitive prices. A recent experience tells it all. I bought a roof rack for my kayak. Bob, the installer, called me and advised me that the rack would not work as intended. Campmor took back the rack, and I took Bobs advice and bought another, considerably less expensive product which works perfectly. I have seen that effort to make sure the customer gets the right product, sometimes in spite of themselves, numerous times at Campmor. It is this commitment on Campmors part that keeps me coming back, that accounts for so many loyal customers.

Good selection of hiking, biking, camping, and climbing gear, at pretty fair prices. Id give the place 5 stars if the help was not so annoying and didnt pretend to be knowledgeable about things that they really arent. I always turn down their offer for help; however, I have overheard many times some of the sales people giving newbies horrendous advice when it comes to purchasing gear. For some reason they always try to sway people towards cheaper lower quality products. I dont know about you, but 7 days into a 14 day backpacking trip I dont want my gear to fail or be uncomfortable.

Great store! My hubby, 6 year old son and I came in here with intentions on learning more on family style camping tents and walked out with a great tent. Roger, the sales gent, was extremely knowledgeable and helped us select a wonderful tent within our price range. There was a wide variety of tents open on the floor to explore.. not those little tiny model tents that their competitors have. Also it was about 15% cheaper here than in other stores. He gave us a lot of information and was extremely friendly. I would definitely shop here again.

This is a candy shop for outdoor enthusiasts. Easily puts any of the chains (EMS/REI) to shame. They literally carry everything I would ever want to buy for an outdoors trip. I went in for cycling road shoes and not only were the staff friendly, they were also passionate about their fields, and were bike experts as week as huge fans of cycling. The salesman asked me what story of riding I was planning to do, and set me up with a less expensive shoe because the fancier shoes were really only useful for competitive riding.

Campmor is difficult at times because the clothing selection is really weak, but as far as gear goes its reasonable prices compared to Amazon. Staff is a hit or miss, I just walked out after passing 5 or 6 people in different departments and looking to spend a few hundred on some new stuff only one person asked me if I needed help but he wasnt in the department that I needed help in, the shoe guy is more concerned with his smartphone than answering questions.

Campmor is a one of a kind shopping experience for the avid outdoors person. You will find expert support and great deals. The only thing I find odd is that it is easier to find specials and discounts on the on-line website than in the actual store. Still you will always find that item you didnt even know you needed for your next camping trip just by walking down these aisles. Unfortunately I always seem to be driving by Campmor on Sunday when it is CLOSED!

This is my all time favorite outdoors store. Similar to Paragon sports in the city but better selection and amazing prices. Helpful staff and large selection of everything you need for camping, biking, kayaking, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing and more. I rarely shop anywhere else even though its an hours drive from my house. Cant say enough good things about this place - come in and check it out for yourself.

I go here solely for the bike stuff. Campmor is a great Local Bike Shop - good mechanic shop, helpful staff; twice they have told me to go elsewhere and get the thing I want instead of trying to sell me something that isnt quite right. Best cycling shoe selection in Bergen County. More MTB stuff than at your average LBS, but still plenty of road stuff (mechanic is a roadie, too).

Everyone who works here is beyond helpful. Have gone here several times with many questions or confsued about a prodcult only to have all my questions answered and examples or tips on the producs I have chosen to purchase. They cary only the best quality and have very good sales from time to time as well. I have stretched my $ much further here then other stores in the area.

I was amazed at how much they had in this store. they had everything from ice climbing to just those who jog outside and everything in between. everyone who i asked for help knew all the answers to all of my questions. a friend who went to a different store found some of the same stuff but for $15-$30 more. i drove from yonkers to the store and it was worth the trip.

a bit pricey but the selection is impressive and there is a tremendous value in time and effort they spend helping to outfit you with a proper fit and teaching how to use everything -I brought my brother in-law an avid cyclist and rock climber and he was impressed with the brands and overall selection-I try to go when they have sales and am able to save quite a bit
