READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. I bought my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta there for $3000. I was 17 and I came with my mom asking for reliable car so they told me that this is good and not expensive car. It was my first car so before buying the car I asked what did the engine light means and that I dont think it should be there but they told me, Im quoting the exact words "Jetta without the engine light is not a Jetta". Agian I was 17 and it was my first car so i didnt know. When I bought the car I had to go back there every week because something was wrong with it all the time. And the mechanic is terrible, it took him 2 days just to install the stereo. After 3 months of owning the car the whole motor had to be replaced because the cylinders didnt have compression so I ended up selling the car for just $500. I ended up losing around $3500 including the repairs before I sold it. DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THE CAR FROM THEM.

Thanks south street for the good customer services and great car choices. Bought a 2005 bmw 330 and it got me all the way to boston and back. looking for a great and reliable car? i recomend for you to go see south street autos on 225 south street newark nj and check out their cars and if you cant find any of your choice just go in have a seat and you will be on your way to finding your car of choice within your price range. You would need to have your head examined if you bought a car from these people. They NEVER return a phone call, they dont have titles to the cars on the lot, they frequently dont answer the phone, and I would strongly suggest to anyone thinking of buying a car from them, to be very wary. Their business model is truly unique. Piss off the customer who has the cash to pay for the vehicle to the point of making them give up and go elsewhere. Buyer beware!

I drove 4.5 hours to buy a car from South Street Auto that the salesman had told me on the phone had no accidents and no mechanical problems. When I arrived you could tell that the car had been in an accident. It also had serious vibration problems in the front end, the brakes were bad, the ABS system was broken, and it wouldnt pass NY State inspection since the check engine light was on as well. Highly recommend avoiding this dealership.
