Let me first with how long I had been going to this store - roughly 4-5 years. On top of that I have been collecting fish for another 7 years. Most of the people that enter this store are beginners in the aquarium trade and are amazed by the layout the second they walk in. Thats all well and good, but to be honest the tanks are kept in miserable condition. The saltwater tanks is where Ill start; Overpriced corals that can be bought elsewhere for half the price, bubble algae covering everything, sick/dead fish floating in the water, extra large corals that should have been fragged weeks ago, pest aiptasia on every rock, and BLEACHED corals being sold to novices in the hobby because their white appearances are more appealing. Anyone in the hobby knows that the bleached anemone being sold to someone is going to die in 3-4 weeks and ruin that persons tank. Save yourself the time and drive a few miles up the road and go to Petco on 202 in Bridgewater or another 30 minutes and go to Ocean Gallery 22. The reason I would go to this store is because it was close by and there are no other local fish stores really. One day I decided to bring an anemone I no longer wanted in my tank (clownfish chose not to host, ended up being more harm than good) thinking that I would try to strike a bargain and get a frag in exchange. When I showed it to the owner, he legitimately laughed in my face and said "Theres no way Id trade, Im here to make money." I go in this store at least once a week just to see what he has and have been purchasing his overpriced corals for years - needless to say he wont be ripping me off any longer. The owner of this store is arrogant, egotistic, and rude. His attitude is the exact opposite of what you want in a business model. Because of the way he has treated me (and my father on many other circumstances) we will never go back.

Do NOT go here. I was appalled by the behavior I experienced. I came by to check the place out because I am always interested in pet stores. I got all the way to the back of the store before the guy behind the counter could tear himself away from counting his drawer down to acknowledge me. I was at the back looking at a snake, because I had never seen one so active. He asked if I needed help with snakes and I said no, I dont really like snakes, but I really like rodents. I moved over to watch the hamsters, and he walked away. First, the hamsters were much too old to be in a pet shop, maybe six or so months, almost full grown. Ideally, hamsters are adopted around two months of age. Hamsters are also NOT communal animals; they hate living with other hamsters. The fact that there were five or so together was weird. The fact that they were all older was a huge problem. The big white hamster ran around bullying and fighting the other hamsters, and the other hams were all very scared!! I left the store, and I told the man at the register about it. If you dont know about hamsters, they will eat their young if the babies are around for too long. They really dont like other hamsters. The man responded with "the big white one? -SIGH- I can get away with keeping them together when theyre young. I really hate hamsters." he then turned back to his register and counted. Im sorry, WHAT!?? It is not hard to go back, pull the bad one out, and separate him. This guy CLEARLY did not care and that bothers me SO MUCH. If you dont care for rodents, fine!! Dont stock them. If you must, be responsible. That is abusive and awful treatment of animals. I will never shop there; I am completely horrified.

This is one of my favorite places in Flemington, and highly recommended. I no longer need to leave town to find a really great pet shop; nothing I know of for miles around is even close. The shop has all the usual freshwater fishes plus some fairly unusual ones, all at good prices, a wide variety of equipment, a good saltwater selection, plus some other animals and supplies in abundance for pretty much every kind of pet. The owner and staff are knowledgeable and helpful , and have gotten me - someone completely lacking in mechanical aptitude - through the assembly and repair of various items, all with good humor and genuine concern for a happy customer. They also stock an abundance of spare parts for filters and other equipment. Its easy to get to, has plenty of parking. No need to go anywhere else!

This was the best pet store Ive ever been to. The staff knew the answer to every question I had. They had a huge selection of items that I could get for my animal setups. They didnt have one of the things I wanted so they ordered it in and I got it the next week! This place was great! Way more friendly than Petco or Petsmart! They kept all of their animals the correct way. All of the animals were happy and healthy. The second I walked in the door the staff jumped right on me and asked if I needed help. It was so enjoyable that I go back almost every day! I definatly recommend going to this store for your pet supplies and needs!

Great Pet Store. Large selection of Freshwater and Salt Water Fish. Also have a small selection of Snakes, Lizards, Frogs, Hamsters, Guinea Pigs and Rabbits. Great selection of Specialty Food and accesories. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the owner (who is there all the time) is extremely knowegable. The staff is very helpful and if they dont know the answer to your question, they go to find out. Thats what customer service is all about. Definately would recommend to anyone looking for a Pet Store, especially for that more personal touch rather than the big box retail chains.

I have been coming here for almost a year now, they regularly have a healthy and decent collection of fish. The owner on the other hand is extremely rude. He asked me where I purchased my filter and was very pissed I did not buy it through him. He was shaking his head and mumbling words under his breathe, he wouldnt speak to me for the rest of my duration in the store. As I finished checking out I thanked him for his time and he didnt even look or acknowledge my transaction. Please do yourself a favor and if you see him there turn around and go somewhere else

I have been keeping fish longer than most people have been alive. This is a great store with knowledgeable staff. If anyone thinks different they are just plain ignorant. There are so few stores like this open, if we dont support stores like these there wont be any left. Then we can buy our products and fish from some 16 year old kid working at a box store. Just like the hardware stores, way to go America.

The best pet store for miles around. Friendly and helpful staff, well organized and clean. A huge assortment of almost anything and everything pet related, crammed into a small footprint; if they do not have what you want they will get it for you. Any negative review you might read has to be from someone who works for the competition.
