Spending a beautiful Sunday with my fiancé walking around Lambertville and we find a pet store, I have 2 dogs that I absolutely adore so my chance of purchasing something is high. We walked in, started to look around and when being asked if we needed help we felt as if we were being interrogated.. We were fine browsing while the woman in the store was chatting with her friend but she apparently wanted us to leave. She said "I have to take my dog out for a piss, you can come back in 5 minutes" and literally shut the door behind us nearly hitting my fiancés heel on our way out. We were floored by what we had just experienced and agreed that we would never go back there. We walked down the rest of the street, turned around and probably 5 minutes went by and her dog is still inside with her still chatting with her friend... This is no way to run a business, its only a matter of time before she has to close her doors.

My husband and I love visiting and supporting independent shops, but the owner of this place is doing her business a disservice with her attitude. From the moment we walked in and headed to the cat items in the corner, we were made to feel completely unwelcome. When we tried to start a conversation with the shopkeeper, all we heard were complaints that my husband had gotten fingerprints on her items (he hadnt), and it basically felt like she was forcing us out the door. We tried to keep up a cheerful conversation, even after she asked incredulously, "What did you buy YOUR cat today?" but eventually left with a negative opinion of the store. Its a shame, because if she had been more personable, we absolutely would have picked up a toy or some treats for our cats there while we were in town for an overnight getaway.

I live in town and have a cat. I was in search of a cat-related item, and I chose to visit a locally owned business instead of a larger chain store. From the moment I walked into the store, I was not made to feel welcome, and when I asked for the particular cat-related item I was looking for, the response I got from the owner was a smug laugh, followed by, "No, we dont have those," as if it were totally out of the realm of possibility for someone to be looking for a pet product at a pet store. After that, even if she did have what I was looking for Id search elsewhere. Dont give this place your money. And if you are the owner, and happen to be reading my review, read up on manners and how to properly interact with customers. And lose the attitude - get over yourself.

Too bad you have to give a star to rate, otherwise this would be ZERO stars. I actually Googled reviews for this store to see if anyone else had a bad experience, or if this lady was just having a bad day. Apparently ours was not an isolated incident. We had a very uncomfortable experience here-- we stopped in to browse and was asked "Can I help you" (in a very aggressive and abrupt manner ) THREE times in less than three minutes when we first responded with "just looking right now". I felt she wanted us out of her store. She actually told us to come back with our dogs! I dont think so. Bad vibe in this store for sure -- nice merchandise, but you wouldnt even want it in your home to remind you of your experience!

I was having a great day with my family and dog, we decided to take a ride to Lambertville NJ and we came across what we thought was a cool store for pets, well I was wrong as soon as we walked into the store the nasty lady who owns the store said what kind of dog is that? When I proceeded to tell her she was telling me that I was lied to and then started talking about us to her friends who where in the store, it was the worse experience I have ever had in a store, dont know how anyone buys anything from them.

Wow, Ive been to this store numerous times and I dont understand how other people had such a bad experience. The owner is absolutely fantastic and really cares about the products she sells. She knows a lot of information about the toys, leashes harnesses and treats. Picky Paws is always a must stop when in Lambertville! Its the perfect place to pick up some treats for your pooch at home (or bring them in with you!)

Walked in with my 2 children and wife and immediately the owner was very rude to us all. Hopefully she truly likes pets, because she does not seem to like adults or children. Dont know how she sells anything, or runs this business. Cannot imagine ever stepping foot in her store again. There are so many better places to go, but we wanted to try and support this independent store. Never again for this one!

Had a wonderful time chatting with store owner. She was so helpful and understanding. Gave me great tips about raising a puppy. Took pictures together outside. Love the shop. All high quality items. I will definitely be back with my mini poodle Jorgy. 5 stars
