I am an avid Acura Owner and have always recommended Acura and Denville Acura for sales & Service. This past Spring, after being hounded for quite some time to allow them to do an engine oil consumption test on my car due to many Acura TLs having an engine oil consumption problem, I allowed them to after much discussion as to how i had researched this issue much earlier and online all i read was how ACURA would NOT do anything to resolve the issue but HONDA did in the same motor in the Hondas with the oil consumption issue. Denville Acuras Service Dept assured me they would do the test and be an advocate if I needed it. I let them change the oil and start the test. Within about 400 miles my oil light indicator came on so , down to Acura I went. It only needed about 1/2 a quart ...( mind you i had only gone about 400 miles!!!) They then said to come back in 1000 miles from that day. I didnt think this was right because the test is to be every 1,000 miles but they assured me it was ok. I proceeded with the consumption test and next check i needed oil and the check after I went over in miles a bit as i had family medical problems and could not get in. Service assured me that was ok. Anyway, long story short, the young man i had been dealing with, told me that it definitely was using oil ( i basically changed the oil as i drive!!!) and that Acura would either fix the problem or give me an extended warranty. Quite some time went by and I had not heard back from Denville Acura so a call was made....my paperwork had not gone anywhere and the young man that worked with me was no longer there. They said they would bring my paperwork to the Service Manager and get back to me. I got a call weeks later telling me that my car was found to be "within normal range" !!! Everyone in the Service Dept there had made comments about how my car IS consuming too much oil! I have been on Acurazine and other sights only to read that many many Acura TL owners are experiencing the same thing! Obviously there IS a problem ! HONDA resolved the issue with the SAME engine....why is ACURA the higher end dealer NOT doing anything about this issue?? WHY is Denville Acura NOT being my advocate to getting an issue that everyone there knows IS a problem??? At this point i am very discouraged about using Denville Acura for any future Service as is many of my friends that also has Acuras. There have been many online complaints about Denville Acura not helping other TL owners with this matter ! I went in discouraged and Denville ASSURED me that I should have this test done and they would be my advocate! I am disappointed in Denville Acura, the Service Dept and ACURA for not upholding to what once was a QUALITY car and dealership! I would not recommend Denville Acura for purchase or service at this point. They did nothing to help me get an issue resolved that can be quite costly to me and has been happening since about 55,000 miles on my car. By the time my car tells me it is due for an oil change....I have already done the oil change while driving it! I trusted Denville Acura in their word that they would be my advocate.....they did not do so. I guarantee that if I was to trade my TL in that the engine oil consumption will be an issue to Denville Acura taking the car in on trade!!! I will lose money on a trade due to their lack of advocating to get my car repaired by ACURA ! I may have others on the Acura Group leave reviews of their issues with this engine oil consumption issue on here as well ! I am so truly disappointed and discouraged with Denville Acura for not advocating to get my car repaired. It is NOT Denville Acuras fault that there is an issue with the car, that is on ACURA but it is Denville Acura that should be advocating for their customers! Every time that i have been in there , i have overheard someone else getting the engine oil consumption test done , so clearly there IS an issue and ACURA should acknowledge and repair it. Denville Acura should be pushing for this to be done for their customers.

I purchased a pre-owned car from them recently. I was an out of state buyer. I had numerous problems with them regarding the title transfer, for out of state. They held my credit union check over 1 week for clearance, then last minute when I drive there to pick up the car they said the title person went home. I had been waiting an hour outside the persons office prior to that, perhaps they could have asked the title person for it ahead of time???? It gets worse, they said they would FedEx me the title when we finally left with the car that evening. The next day they changed the plan and said I have to come back, drive 2 hours each way again, and pay $385 for the title work, an outrageous figure considering the PennDot price is $84. The used car sales manager assured me it was only an "estimate" and they "dont make one dime" on this fee, any excess would be refunded. I kept pressing for at least an estimate of the cost, and he finally told me the processor they use charges $51, higher than what the AAA would have charged me. Sometime later I finally received the PA registration, but it took another two weeks to finally get the refund check, which turned out to be short $18.62. I asked for an accounting of the fees, which I never got, other than the official PennDot receipt in with the registration which showed the $84 and confirmed what I found online. I am assuming the $51 processing fee was charged, but what the $18.62 is was not explained. Its a small matter, but overall the entire experience was less than satisfying. One last point, the entire title issue was poor, since my credit union specifically said, and called them to say, that they (my CU) had no issue with the title work being done upon my return to PA, by myself at the AAA, but Denville refused to give me the title. That forced me to make yet another 4 hour round trip drive just to run my CC and sign one paper. I should also mention that they charged $399 on top of the negotiated price we agreed on for the vehicle, which basically is added profit of $399 that would not be paid in a private sale, or at some other dealerships. The $399 really is just adding something to the final price, but apparently it didnt cover the $51 title work fee, nor the missing $18.62. In closing, I only went there because the vehicle was a specific model with features I wanted, and yes I am pleased with the car, but not the way I had to get it.

Almost purchased a Certified used TLX from this dealer. Car Fax came back clear of any accidents. After my boyfriend was inspecting the car, he noticed odd things (ie: Hood not aligned correctly, the driver side door was not aligned, the weather stripping was off). Once my boyfriend pointed these things out, they still swore up and down that the car was never in an accident. Reviewing the car with the manager of used car sales, my boyfriend noticed there was paint on the weather stripping attached to the door. At that movement, we knew something was up with this car. We decided not to take the car. My boyfriend reviewed the car fax at home and noticed the car was sold at two auctions with-in 2-3 months apart. All we can assume is this car was sold as a wreck to a body shop, body shop fixed it, and then Acura Denville purchased it. This is the second issue I had with this dealer. I will never again recommend them. Sad because Ive purchased multiple cars from them. The salesman I have always used, it great. He is the only good thing this dealer has to offer. As I am unable to respond to your post I will edit my original one. Let it be known, the radar detector was NEVER found. I find it extremely odd that I was told there are "no cameras" in any of the bays or in the yard. So I guess the mystery of where the radar went will never be solved. However I know, I left the car in Acura Denvilles possession with the radar in the car. Now, in regard to coming back - I wanted nothing to do with your business. My boyfriend was giving you all the benefit of the doubt because there was a car on the lot that looked like a good deal. After reading reviews on this dealership, I can see that other people had similar issues with used cars from your establishment. Either way, the situation(s) are done. You were able to make a deal to another buyer, congrats.
