Petco is a good store. They are a chain so the prices are always below average for local fish stores. I always go there to get medication, tank accessories, purification products and even sometimes fish and plants. They have a 14 day guarantee on all live pets sold and they stand by it. I always know that fish or plants I buy at Petco will be disease free and fairly clean. Their selection on stuff for cats and dogs is top notch and reasonably priced. On the other side, I have raised fish tanks for many years and over the years I have gotten bad advice on one thing or another from almost every person working in any fish store I have been too. Aquatic raising is a science that is continually changing every day and it is very difficult for every store to find people who have an above average knowledge of every type of fish tank. No matter what anyone tells me to do, we owe it to ourselves and our pets to go home and use this internet to RESEARCH. Before starting any tank please take some time to explore the vast wealth of information on all the different techniques and possible errors. Never ever rely solely on what one person says, even if they own the store.

Service can take a long time, they seem to have quite a bit of turnover of staff when they get decent people to work there. Trainers are semi-knowledgable, but there are better dog trainers in the area for sure. Aquatics section is ok. Staff have a rough idea of what is going on, but arent familiar with the fish and plants. Most everything is mislabled or misidentified. Dont go in thinking they know the difference between aquatic plants and terrarium plants or youll kill your fish. They just mix all the plants in together, some of which will rot in the water releasing all kinds of bad stuff. However they can sell expensive plants or fish under the wrong name for cheap if you have a keen eye. Fish have a nice return policy. Keep a quarantine tank.

we had a really unpleasant experience at this store. we went with the intention of buying a Guinea pig. we picked one out, fell in love, and asked for assistance. we were told someone would be right with us, and we patiently waited while the woman was helping the family that was there before us, then we waited longer because the woman had to cashier a long line. all in all, we waited about 45 minutes, in full view of the cashier stand.all of this was OK, until when the woman finally came back out, a man approached her about a bird, and she skipped us entirely, and waited on him. we were easily a two hundred dollar sale, but at that point we left. we will return to get the pig, like I said, its love, but they have lost our business.

The Grooming and Dog Training are the worst.I got my dog groomed here and they made me pay for a wash,brush,teeth cleaning,earwash,and nail clipping and they refused to cut his nails and when i asked for a partial refund they refused even though i paid for his nails to be clipped.they told me to come back in 2 hours to get my dog and it took them three and a half hours.also they have 16 year old kids doing the dog training.i watched a 16 year old try to train a saint bernard it was terrible the kid had no idea what he was doing he was certainly not a dog trainer.and the saint bernard did not look happy.PETSMART is cheaper for dog grooming check there prices

It really would be in their best interests to get more help. I have waited as long as 35 mins just to get some crickets. In the end I helped myself, wrote the number and how many on the plastic bag and then had to wait another almost 10 mins to get through the checkout. I watched the grooming process. Not good. When a dog is stressed to the point of panic, grooming should be stopped. I wanted a budgie nest box and was given an 8x8 box that was meant for a Cockatiel or bird of equivalent size. I told the clerk it was way too big and she assured me it was the correct size. At that point knew I was dealing with an employee who knew nothing about birds and left.

I was really impressed with the items and animals they had, but the staff was not very kind to me. A guy (didnt know his name), he had facial hair, but he was very pushy and rude. Basically pushing me out of the place just because I asked to buy a fish, but was under aged by 13 days. He was working on 09/21/2016 around 3:30. For this reason, I will never go to this Petco again. Youre suppose to be welcoming to your customers! I am very uncomfortable with the way he treated me. He talked to us in an awkward and sarcastic way.

The fish section (my main reason for going, as there arent too many options in the area for fish) is very inconstant in quality. Sometimes the tanks look great, other times not so much. The options for stands for fish tanks arent very good, as all of them look questionable in terms of quality. Smaller merchandise like fish tank supplies and dog toys etc has a good selection though.

This store is well stocked, and clean. The customer service is excellent, and management is responsive and helpful. I would not recommend the grooming department. When we went there, there was only 1 person doing the grooming, and we had some issues afterwards which we later resolved. We would never bring our pet there for grooming again.

Not a fan of chains really. But this is a good store. I been doing dog training with Joanne and she is great. Also the groomer Ashley is wonderful and always super sweet to my dog Mabel. Mabel and I have learned a lot. So 5 stars for the people that work here they are all super nice and love pets.

This Petco is always so well stocked, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter loves to learn about all the animals and the staff are always willing to tell her all about them with enthusiasm and a smile.

Valerie is an excellent groomer! My dog is owner protective but after a few times of seeing her he goes with her and behaves! I can tell she really loves dogs!

I couldnt help but to notice that a lot of their saltwater fish, especially the yellow tangs, had ick, and I dont believe they were being treated.
