Before I get into this Im not 1 of those people who expect to get street value for what Im selling at a pawn shop, aint gonna happen. Tradeland does have good product there, prices are a bit much on different items. But as usual in any pawn shop and Tradeland is no exception to the rule, they WILL beat you on your stuff if you let them, the only way to not let them is by walking away. I always thought that trading would get you the better deal but I thought WAAAAY WRONG. I brought in a mint condition electric guitar which sells on average $500-$650 used, and you can find them all over the internet with that exact list. I had to look it up myself on my phone for the sales guy because he couldnt find the that model guitar with these exact specs because he really didnt know his guitars. He kept looking at the similar guitar with less features on it which was obviously much cheaper. This went on for about a half hour, very frustrating. So we spent about another half hour (after he figured out what I actually had there) looking for the lowest possible price someone was selling 1 of these for online so he could low ball me as much as possible. I just cant believe theyd waste that much of my time to find a reason to low ball me really bad when they already clearly know now what its worth. Finally he asked me what I wanted in trade, which was a guitar that cost only $179,(obviously I wasnt looking to trade even). Guess what?..He offered me an even trade for mine, I didnt know whether to laugh at him or smackem (I laughed). So he probably at very very best paid that customer $75 for that guitar, then hes going to pass it off to me for a guitar that sells in good cond. for $600 used. So he was actually in reality getting my guitar for under $100 and if he sold it for way under its sale value at $400 hes making a $300 profit, not to shabby aye. I dont think so, I said thanks for wasting an hour of my time and grabbed my guitar and left. Pretty slick arent they, this is how pawn shop dirt bags make their money. Dont fall for it and dont waste all that time and aggravation like I did only for someone to try to take total and complete advantage of you. Very bad experience, Stick to buying...

I have been doing business with Trade Land since they were in their Hudson location. Over the years I have bought a lot of high end electronics and tools from them. I can say everything I have bought looks brand new and I was often saving 30% to 40% off of retail. The one time an item I bought had an issue I took it back and they refunded my money no questions asked. Every time I have ever sold to them they basically offer me 30% under what the item is selling for in other similar used goods dealers such as eBay, Craigslist, Gamestop etc. When you take into account they have to make a profit to keep the lights on as well as the fact they are saving me all the hassle of selling something on craigslist taking 30% under is more than fair. Jim and his crew of employees are a solid bunch of people. Next time you want some tools or something go to Home Depot or Lowes and price it out then go to Trade Land and you will find it in like new condition only for 40% less. Also keep in mind Trade Land is not really a collectibles type place. They do have some items like that but they are mainly a great place to find retail goods but at wholesale prices. One last thing it is ok to haggle with them you can offer less than what they are asking or ask more than what they are willing to pay. You will often find them amicable to some wheeling and dealing.

JUST USE CRAIGSLIST Im sure the owner will have excuses but there was a sale went in to look at some tools anything cool, an awkward sales environment with tough pricing. its a pawn shop environment not the snap on truck . an older guy implied that we could make a deal on older SKUd items. I wasnt really able to look at the merchandise as they had to "hover" next to the case and they pile everything up so you cant really see it. anyway after i wasted time looking at stuff i picked the most beat up socket set to see how they would react. they would deal one bit (it was the item that had been sitting in the case the LONGEST). So i was pretty disappointed in this young kid just refusing to deal at all. If he had worked with me i would have probably bought the whole case of snap/mac on tools (for a group deal) but i couldnt make anything happen. they had nice items but I think flea markets and craigslist provide better values. they have nice stuff, but wouldnt even make a deal on items that had been sitting for over 30 days per my conversation with the older gentleman, they are not motivated to move inventory.

I thought this place was okay at first. Its a good store to look at all of the different items if you are into window shopping. I would negotiate price prior to making any purchase (if possible) They price thier products at a very high price for used items. They are fair on some pawns and other times they bid low. I get it. Part of running a business is making money. Some of the employees use tactics such as saying "I have a bunch of those sitting in back and I cant move them" or "there is not many people looking for these" as they might be right in some cases but I have heard them flat out disrespect customers items. Do some research and know what your product is truly worth. It takes 5 minutes to look it up on Ebay. You wont ever get more than that. Decide what your absolute lowest selling point would be and dont be insulted if they offer you something around that price. They need to profit from it as well.

They still havent found the balance of when it is in their best interest to lower prices on certain items, which results in less conversion which ultimately means less profit regardless of overhead. Cant blame them the pawn game is a dirty business. With that being said they do offer warrantees and repairs. Not many places do this. This is the cleanest most professional pawn shop Ive seen. Yes, there are items that you can get at better prices on CL but good luck with the options CL has to offer. I despise pawn shops but this one is the least despicable once you learn to get around their no BS attitude when negotiating, they wont budge 90% of the time. Its like negotiating with a pudgy version of Spock from Star Trek. After getting screwed somewhere else youll quickly realize that you would have been better off getting screwed less by these guys. Im sure theyll be around for many years to come.

Do your homework before you go here. The item I looked at was misrepresented by the sales people and was overpriced. I was watching them talk to some other customers and saw the same thing going on elsewhere in the store. If your not knowledgeable about what your buying then this is not the place to shop. The sales person I talked to said the item I looked at sold for a certain price on newegg I asked him to show me the item because I know It didnt exist on newegg and he said he couldnt show me. I saw another person shopping for jewelry and saw the same thing happening to him.
