I had a very horrible experience online with sierra trading post. They did not have the item in my size online so they said that I had to order from a store. I live in California and there were no stores available so I ordered from the Reno store. (I have relatives in Reno I was going to visit soon soon so I asked if they could pick the item up). I was told that they could not pick it up without the confirmation online (receipt) sent to them by email and brought in. BUT they were having problems sending confirmations. I did not get one and when I chatted with them online they still could not send it. I was told that this was not just me having problems. Many others were having problems as well. The lady on chat said that she could cancel my order. How is that going to help? The sale I bought it from ended the day before. To reorder it would cost more. I still wanted the item. The lady on chat said that the shoes were sent and would be there at the Reno Store soon. I was like what? If they can send them to the store why cant they send them to my house? Also Reno store said they had them in stock when I called them earlier. The online said that the order would be ready in 2 hours because they had it in stock already. When I called Reno again they said they did not have it and would have to wait for it to be shipped. I was so frustrated! Liz in the Reno store was very helpful however and said she would ship the item to California because she was so sorry that this whole thing happened. She could not send me a confirmation either but she would just forgo the whole relative pick up and send it to me at my home so it would be here in time for my daughters birthday! Thanks Liz!

Definitely hit or miss with this one. Ive found some great deals on cool gear a few times but Im mostly underwhelmed when I visit (which is still pretty often just in case). I think the problem is I compare them too much to their online store which is AMAZING. Your best bet: visit right after Christmas when all the returns are in the store, lots of good stuff to dig through!

Great deals on outdoor clothing and items. Need to be flexible and not have a particular brand/item in mind when shopping, sizes and styles are limited by stock on hand or that can be ordered online, it is like a Ross for outdoor goods. Their coupons are great if you sign up for their mailing list. We always walk out with great deals.

Love the staff and the deals! Dont be afraid to sign up for the emails because you will be rewarded handsomely for it with excellent coupons on already low prices. I honestly dont but anything without a coupon and I have averaged 60% off retail prices on all of my purchases. High quality products as well.

Great bargains on high quality clothes geared toward the outdoor enthusiast. Although most things are just as good a full price retail store, some items are factory seconds so be sure and check garment construction. Returns are easy, staff is friendly.
