I learned about Vegas Bike Store through my brother-in-law, who recommended this shop to me when I decided to start road biking last September. I hadnt been on a bike in years and I was somewhat intimidated by the process of researching and buying a new bike, especially being on a budget. My brother-in-law, who is very meticulous, had researched and visited many shops a few months prior when he was looking to make some repairs on his mountain bike and possibly purchase a new one. He told me that Tim’s shop was the best he’d visited because Tim was super friendly and knowledgeable. He said he received personalized attention that he had not received anywhere else. My brother-in-law was right. The visit to VBS was great. Besides being friendly and knowledgeable, Tim was honest and low-pressure. His concern for me as a new cyclist superseded any desire to make a sale. Besides the great vibe I felt, Tims prices (he sells bikes, bike gear, accessories, etc.) cant be beat. When I was ready to purchase a bike, I decided to buy an entry level road bike from him that he had recommended and since then, Ive been back to the shop countless times to ask for cycling advice, purchase bike gear & accessories, and ride one of the several virtual trainers that are located in the back of the shop. Both Tim & Richard, his mechanic, are experienced cyclists. Their passion for cycling combined with the level of professionalism and care that they provide to their customers makes this small business a great asset to our community. I have quickly become a loyal customer and wouldnt think for a second of going anywhere else for my cycling needs. I have met many other local cyclists who feel the same way. I rarely write reviews for anything, but I had to share my experience because I believe that Vegas Bike Store is the best bike shop in town. Visit VBS and youll see what I mean. Tim & Richard, you guys are the best!!!

I checked this place out by just screwing around and checking out the nearby stores. I stepped in and two friendly guys said hello. They offered me a free 2 hour trial at their cycling simulator, which I will try soon and I started talking to them. The staff had a good knowledge, they sell from starter $350 bikes to up and have no problem breaking out the catalog and to show you some products they can build for you. They have no deep preference to what brand you have to buy. The store is very small, but it will get you by for anything you might need. The prices are nicely addressed and they had no problem about me dragging my bike inside -some bike shops do!- They offered up some ideas of biking within minutes and didnt show that snooty act like McGhees does. I will come back here if I need anything other then what I could get online for a steal. Tubes and accessories are a must at local bike shops to me. I gave a 4 out of 5 because they should have a bigger and wider selection with a more diverse selection of bikes on the floor.

I am the mechanic here at Vegas Bike Store. I have much pride in the the work we do here so I am posting this. There has to be more to the story as I would not have allowed a bicycle to leave this store in the condition the poster posted. Customer satisfaction is my main focus and if something is wrong, I want to right it. The internet is anonymous and its easy for someone to post a negative review without us being able to investigate and rectify. We did about 170 repairs under the Groupon and this is the first one Ive seen with a problem. So for the poster, it would be isolated and not the norm. I apologize for any inconvenience, but you used an internet review to make it aware to us rather than contacting us, I really hope this is isolated and not the norm for our customer base. Tim and I are here to serve your bicycling needs and if I didnt care I would not be posting a reply. Richard S.

Brought my bike into Vegas Bike Shop and had a front to back tune-up performed after 27 years! My Raleigh Competition Sport Racing Bike looked and rode like the day it came out of the showroom floor - from Helens Bike Shop in Westwood back in the day! The bike rides great, is clean, and what a difference.... and I maintain my bike regularly! Tim did a phenomenal job, and I highly recommend this shop for service, parts, and for a quality bike if you are in need. All top of the line, appropriately and competitively priced, and the service is first rate. Have been going there for over a year. I am completely satisfied, delighted even, and do not hesitate recommending them! On Durango, near Desert Breeze Park, Las Vegas.

Disappointing. I bought the Groupon for a bike tune up and brought my bike in to get cleaned up. They were easy to deal with, but mentioned that there was a problem with my rear tire that they tried to fix, but that it was going to require more than a tune up to fix it. Turns out, my rear tire couldnt even freely rotate after the tune up! I assumed it just needed a new tire. I took my bike into REI, and they pointed out numerous problems not just with the rear tire, but with screws not being tightened correctly and that my shifter was now broken when it had been fine previously. I had to get my bike tuned up again after my tune up here! Im just not impressed. Hopefully this was an isolated incident rather than the norm.

Awesome Locals Shop! Tim is the nicest guy and he always gives me special prices on items/parts in the store. There is no sales pressure when you shop there. I had my Trek 5500 tuned up and was nervous as I knew nothing about them but he gave me a good deal on the tune-up when compared to McGhees prices. When I got my bike back I was floored. My bike had been transformed and literally looked BRAND NEW. I cant say enough good things. The store also has a indoor cycling simulator that looks awesome but I havent had a chance to try it. They also arrange local Sunday rides and email you in advance with route information. Vegas Bike Store is a true locals shop with a good vibe. Definitely give them a try!

I walked in with a 2007 TREk the Rear derailleur broke and chain was also broken, as the door shut he said where did you find that old bike the junk yard its going to cost several hundred dollars to repair cheaper to just buy new. I said the chain broke no way it would be hundreds in repairs and he kept telling me to go elsewhere for a 2nd opinion and actually gave me a card to call. Long story short $20.00 fix at the other shop. This guy obviously has no desire to fix bikes and Im surprised hes in Buisness. Go elsewhere to someone who actually wants your money and enjoys fixing bikes.
