Associates need more training in handling returns. Both my return and the persons in front of me presented unique challenges: I didnt have a receipt, and the other person was missing a piece from their item. They claimed it was sold to them without the piece in question, to which the associate responded with, "Are you sure?" -- essentially calling into question the customers honesty. My $8 return couldnt be accommodated at first, even though the item is still in stock and was marked as an "REI" product. I was made to feel guilty when I pressed them to allow a straight exchange for the identical product. The associate told me that "even though this isnt normal, if you can show me an REI transaction on your credit card statement, Ill allow it." To their credit, the store ended up allowing both returns - mine and the other customers. But not without a lot of needless friction. It was clear these two associates had an adversarial view of customers. Further, the two of them actually discussed the other customer while I was still at the counter, in low tones, thinking I couldnt hear.

I was trying to call Green Valley Ranch location and called Boca Park by accident. They answered the phone on the 2nd ring and gentleman was really nice and polite. I then called Green Valley Ranch location, TWO TIMES. First time after hearing annoying recording I held for four minutes and NO ONE picked up the phone. I hung up and called again, this time after recording a lady picks up and I ask her to transfer me to someone that can help me with bikes. Ive been on hold for eight minutes now and no one has picked up my call. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, wait thats NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I stopped in for advice on downhill skis and even though theyre not carried at this REI location, they found an employee who knew skiing and took plenty of time with me to work out what would be best for a recreational, intermediate skier like me. He advised me on what my family would need, all the while knowing I would obviously not be buying from him or that particular REI. Thats just good business. I highly recommend!

Great store with an absolutely wonderful staff. Have supported and shopped there for years and years. I am proud of these people for the way I am treated which makes this store great as well as they carry a big selection of equipment. Even around closing time my questions are answered with care and I am not rushed away as some stores do. Great job. Help you they can, help you they will.... Mtn Yoda

I go through periodic shopping sprees at this store and have managed to get some good deals off their sale racks. This shop is stocked with camping gear, rock climbing, fitness apparel and shoes. Want bicycles? They have that too. Be sure to join their club to get a rebate on your purchases at the end of each year.

I browsed REIs website for a few days before deciding to drive over and dive into the store... man, was I ever impressed with the level of service and the amount of inventory they have for bike parts and accessories.. decent pricing.... I was definitely happy with the purchase and will head back soon!

The long term staff here have always been excellent and very knowledgeable. The store is clean and is constantly evolving. Unfortunately due to space constraints they dont have as large of a selection as the Boca Park store, but Ive had little issue as I can always order online for an in store pick up.

I had a few minor issues with my bicycle, and they were able to service it even though I hadnt scheduled an appointment. Kudos to Matt who was able to help me do a bike fit. He was able to eliminate all my riding issues with that fit. Everyone was super helpful and attentive!

There is much less selection at this location compared to the REI in Summerlin. The focus here is definitely on clothing, which matches the area demographic (shopping mall).
