Heres the review I posted elsewhere. Carter replied to this review saying something like they were looking into it. That was march 2013. Its about 5 months later, no phone call, nothing. Since 2000 my family has been using the services and purchasing parts exclusively from Carter Powersports. They have always felt like a close knit family dealer type deal, you know? In 2012 I took my 1987 gl1200 to them (they picked it up even though they are 17 miles away and treated it like a new born) to get the carbs redone and to redo all the junk Cheapo Dealer in Augusta GA did to it. Awesome, the price was extremely nice, 500 bucks, they were very friendly and helpful, a gentleman who had been just working on goldwings for 26ish years worked on it. As you may know, it takes years to build up trust, but only moments to break it. Well, when my little starter that could, couldnt, I called up Ole Trusty Carter. Asked for the service department and got ahold of Brandy, the same Brandy I talked to in 2012. I explained the situation and she asked me what model etc. I told her a 1987 gl1200I. You know what she did then?? SHE ASKED ME TO SEND HER A PICTURE OF THE BIKE. Wtf? Send a picture...uh...like stick your head around the corner and peek at the other goldwings and youll get the general idea. OR, barring that mysteriously this place has no such thing in a 20,000 square foot radius, GOOGLE IT. Of course, I didnt say that. Just thought it. Anyway, she gave me the run around and told me that because it was such an old bike and soooo hard to find parts for it (no ability to google, again) she wasnt sure if they would even work on it, but she was willing to talk to her manager and shed give me a call back in an hour. That was at 9:30 in the morning. Hm, this isnt just my recreational, go out and play vehicle. This is my life line to work, I literally ride this motorcycle in all weather, ive rode it through flooding, pouring rain, freezing cold burning heat to and from work. Im at the breaking point as of right now because its my only reliable transportation, and its either spend tons of money traveling to work, or catch a bus and spend 6-8 hours a day going to and from work and hoping a bus doesnt break down. Ok, so 10:30 rolls around, no call. 11:30, forget this, I NEED an answer. I call, and she gives me a flimsy oh i forgot ha ha but yeah my manager said that we wont even pick it up because weve had bad luck with older vehicles...wtf? I ask what about the 27 year gold wing mechanic, did he quit or something? Oh no, he still works here. I guess he gave up on older wings or something. Oook thanks for nothing. I guess he gave up on older wings or something. I called em back later and asked what if I brought the starter in, could they rebuild? Nope! Only replace! My experience with trying to buy a starter from them was a cx500 starter at 700 bucks, noooo thanks. Just overall upset. Ive sent many, many, many people to them to check out bikes, they WERE the place I swore by, to other riders. Now, they are on the same list as RideNow Powersports. Just over expensive, customers wallet comes first lousy stealership.

Our experience with Carter Powersports and Theron who we worked with was fantastic; they really went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations through all phases of the looking, buying, and service process. I was in the market for a new RZR, having already done weeks of research online; I knew what fair prices were etc. so we decided to take the trip down to Carter Powersports because it was close to our house. My wife and I had never been there prior and this was to be our first ATV purchase. Theron greeted us at the door, he knew these machines inside and out and there was absolutely no pressure, he really was genuinely a nice guy to talk to. We made several visits over a few weeks "just to look" and Theron would always just say, “We are here when you are ready". I went back in a third time and I told him we are ready to buy if the price is right. He checked with the boss and came back with a price that was more than fair and much better than many other dealers in surrounding states, so I was happy to buy it. I am pleased to say that a day later when we actually signed papers, there was no difference in price or extra added BS fees that dealers like to sneak in at signing, the price was exactly the same to the penny as our agreement the day prior. There was a factory warranty and service option to purchase at signing but they were up front about those and the prices really did seem fair if one was inclined to purchase those. Two hours later we had the new RZR delivered to our house…but the story doesn’t end there. I finally got the RZR out later that evening and about 100yrds into my ride I noticed a problem. There appears to have been a factory assembly problem where a nut was missing from a bolt, which ultimately came out and left me with a bent steering rod . I called Theron, let him know what happened, and his response was “I will have a trailer there in 20 minutes!” He sent a guy out right away despite that the store was closing, picked my RZR up, towed it back, and then gave me the option of getting the part swapped out and picking up the RZR the next day, or swapping the paperwork to another new RZR and taking it home tonight. Well we opted for the new RZR, went and signed a few more sheets of paper and in less than an hour we were home driving a new RZR, what a great experience, thanks guys for taking care of us!

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!! The starter went out in my Polaris. I called and asked how much a started was they informed me it was $350.00 plus a $100 labor. I got on Amazon and found the exact same starter for $55.00. I installed the started myself which took all of 15 minutes. The engine would turn over but not start. I took it into Carter Motorsports and they informed me it would be a $100 to tech my Polaris to find the problem. I asked if the $100 would be credited towards the cost of the repairs and I was informed it would not be. They called me 24 hrs later and told me it was the fuel pump. Which I was very doubtful of because I had checked it and it was putting out fuel. They informed me it would be $250.00 for the fuel pump and $100.00 labor. I informed them to order the fuel pump and put it on the front seat and put on the front seat of the Polaris and I would install it myself. After installing the fuel pump that took approx. 15 minutes it still would not start. I took it back and they said they would tech it again. I received a call 72 hrs later saying it was bent push rods. I drove to their shop and they showed me two bent push rods and how did I know they came from my Polaris. They ordered the push rods and I was informed by phone that if this did not fix the problem they would need to do an engine tear down and rebuild. I was informed and I quote "That sometimes when the started goes out it bends push rods" when I talked to the Manager he said "Disregard that statement." I know it is impossible to bend push rods when a started goes out. And I challenged the manager to bring in a third party for their opinion which he declined. I left his office waiting to see what they would fabricate next. They installed push rods and runs. I know which I cant prove because I was not there that this was a scam to inflate the invoicing. In closing I asked the manager had he ever read any of their reviews on his business, he and his want to be manager Brandy and they said they were very proud of all the good reviews.
