The first time I stepped into Alfred Angelo I couldnt imagine why they got so many bad reviews. I drove 5 hours away to try on the Belle dress. Melissa and Ashley were so helpful and let me try on every dress I wanted (some twice).I bought the dress and all the undergarments, because being a first time bride I didnt know they were "optional", and was not asked if I wanted them, they just got rang up. I came out feeling satisfied and giddy after finding the one (the Belle 206). When the dress came in I went in for alterations, and found that I liked the dress better without the underskirt, which they didnt let me try when I initially purchased the dress (100 bucks wasted). I also found out the dress needed to be hemmed exactly 3 inches(Im 52), which they didnt inform me that alfred angelo dresses come in a petite size, which is exactly 3 inches shorter (200 for this alteration). I also asked the seamstress to take in the bust as it was enormous and even with the dress laced so tight I had back cleavage, the bust was still an inch to big. The seamstress refused to take in the bust and instead told me I needed to buy a different AA bustier and sew in padding ($80 for the bustier and $20 to sew in padding!), the also charged me $50 to sew on an extra button for the shoulder tulle. I also paid $200 for a 5 hook bustle! I paid the price, with some definate sticker shock, and went on my way. I dont live in Vegas so I didnt know where else to take the dress. When I went in for my final fitting 2 weeks before the wedding, I tried the dress on with the padding in the bustier. The bust was still a good 3 inches away from my skin! I told her I was very displeased with this, and I paid a lot for this dress and I wanted it to fit right. I wanted to look good on my wedding day, and I wanted a little cleavage. Well, she then tightened the dress to make the bust fit better, which did give me cleavage... Back Cleavage, which was not sexy at all I might add. I told her I was not happy with that and I really wanted her to take in the bust regardless of the charge. We had also noticed some spots on the train, that we had asked her to clean and she assured us she would. Fast forward to the day before the wedding I go to pick up the dress. It has NOT been taken in at the bust, it is still way too big!, it HAD NOT been steamed like they had said, the black stains were still on the satin of the train (I had never worn it outside the AA store), and AA said they would not fix the problem because I had not paid for them to remove the stain. You mean, I have to pay to remove a stain from a dress that has been in thier custody?! I was so dissapointed. I should also mention that AA LOST one of my bridesmaids dresses (who paid for rush shipping months before the wedding just to be safe). They consistently told my panicking BM that her dress would be there, and kept changing the dates! AA recieved the dress the day before the wedding, and did same day alterations for her at no charge, yet they would not clean, alter, or steam the brides dress? AA does have beautiful dresses, and I do not regret the dress I chose, but buyer beware, DO NOT go to the store on Rainbow! I have heard the seamstress at the Henderson store is much more accomodating. I have tried to upload some photos to show dress was too big, and the padding that was "sewn" into the bustier started creeping out during photos!

DO. NOT. GO. HERE!! I worked there for a week but left after I saw things happening at the store behind the doors. 1) The judging starts as soon as you walk in, I had a manager come up to me after a bride and her whole family walked in and whisper in my ear, I bet you they wont even buy a dress, they are here for fun, we will set them up in the end so they can get in and get out. 2) If they know you already have a gown at the house but you are still looking to make sure better ones are not out there they see that as a slim to zero chance at a sales, so again, get in and get out mode sets in. 3)What did it for me: A bride came in, she had a dress already but actually found another one at the store that she was going to take off the rack (As-is condition). Since the gown was a floor model it was dirty (as expected). The bride asked if there was anything that could be done to get all the dirt and makeup off the dress, one of the associates helping her assured she would do what she could do (Which I thought was pretty nice since it WAS a as-is gown. The bride left for a few hours to run some errands and the associate took the dress to the back...to the break room. They have those plastic mudroom sinks in the break room next to all the food, coffee, snacks and the associate just turned on the water and threw the dress in the sink and started to rub blue dawn dishsoap all over the soiled portions of the gown!! She told me she really shouldnt be doing this while dripping water on the floor which got other parts of the gown even more dirty... I could not believe what I was seeing, brides come in for a WEDDING GOWN, they are not cheap, and they should not be treated with dishsoap in a dirty break room sink just to hang dry in the mens bathroom.

Wonderful is the best word but it was much more. After searching online and visiting multiple stores in 3 different states I was more than discouraged, I was ready to give up. I am a plus size woman and I was looking for a mother of the bride dress for my only daughters upcoming wedding. I decided to give Alfred Angelo a try, it was my last hope. I called ahead just to see if they carried samples in my size. The consultant who answered the phone was very helpful and said yes they had several and that I could stop in to see what they had but I might need an appointment to try them on, which I fully expected and was happy to do. I arrived at the store and was greeted by Andrea. They had an open appointment so I was able to try on dresses. After a few minutes of asking me what I was looking for she began to pull dresses. They had a large selection of truly plus size samples. She made me feel so comfortable and she was so knowledgeable about her stock. She took her time and did not rush me or make me feel like I was a bother. She even helped when we put my daughter on a video call so she could see and approve the dress and color. She was able to answer my questions about possible alterations to the dress that I needed to accommodate some unique needs. I felt no pressure to purchase and she was completely up front about the costs, time line and what to expect. Andrea was the best. I would recommend the store and Andrea to anyone but especially those who are having a hard time finding plus size samples and options. Thank you again Andrea and Alfred Angelo for making this mother happy and finding my perfect dress.
