Ive changed my review for A Formal Choice because Ive recently went back looking for a prom dresses and I was absolutely shocked and taken aback at the appearance of the store. I used to sing this shops praises for offering nice dresses for great prices but I sing no more. The owner has really has let it go. You still may find beautiful dresses here for more reasonable prices than any other store; however, that does not excuse the condition of her dresses or the shop. Many of the dresses are snagged, snaps torn off, missing beads, broken zippers and straps, falling off hangers, shoved in the racks and just in disarray. I also noticed a change in the shop owner, she was never real attentive but she acted happy, friendly and did help much more than she does now. Now she always sits behind her tiny counter with her head bowed lost in her computer. The friendliness and little help that was there is gone. She would randomly look up to see, if there was anything she could help with, in a less than enthused voice. And when we said yes we need help, do you have this or that she would stay sitting and point at the area or show us a dress we werent interested in or even asking about. She seemed bothered that we and the other shoppers were in the store looking at her dresses. I cannot understand that attitude. Completely inappropriate, rude, and just awkward. We had a difficult time finding dresses in the size we needed, which was 13/14. when we had a few to try on we took them to the dressing rooms and tried them on, then we hung them back up. The shop owner never spoke to us during this. I might as well of been shopping at JC Penny. It was completely self serve, help yourself which would have been o.k. if the shop was more organized but the sizes were all mixed up, there was no organization to the shop. She has let her store go and apparently doesnt care. If you can afford it shop elsewhere with better service. I also have to say, to the owner specifically, why do you only stock the nice styles in the tiny sizes? Do you not understand that every girl no matter what size she is deserves a pretty dress but you only carry the pretty dresses in the tiny sizes. The majority of girls these days will not fit into the sizes you have. And then the larger size dresses you choose to stock are not pretty and to be frank many of them are ugly and look matronly like for the mother of the bride. This is not right and makes me feel you only want the smaller girls shopping at your shop or you think only the smaller girls deserve a pretty dress. Every girls deserves to feel like a princess not just the skinny ones.

Had a terrible experience. I went in so excited to try on prom dresses. They wouldnt let my mom help me or even be back near the dressing rooms, and then were rude to me when I needed help zipping. Offered no help getting the dresses on. The employees were repeatedly blatantly rude to me and my mother, and complained about how they were feeling in front of customers. Also thought the owner(? whoever was behind the counter) seemed annoyed w us, the customer, and like we were bothering her. Not worth your time. Also, I thought the selection of dresses and colors was very lacking. I also thought the salon smelled weird. Really bad experience overall, but the customer service was terrible.

I have used this shop for 4 events now for wedding dresses for the bride, bridesmaids and mother of the bride. They are WONDERFUL to work with and have gone out of their way to help us find what we were looking for. Ive never had a bad experience here. Love, love, love this place and the owner Naomi was amazing at helping us find just the right dresses for our body shape and style, even when the bridesmaids ordered from out of state!!! I know that they were under construction at one time so the displays werent as nice, but I can overlook that.

Last in March 2015 I needed a formal dress for my brothers wedding. Just moved here from Georgia didnt have a clue. Found a formal choice online went and we surprise how awesome this little store was. I bought a fabulous dress. Again today my husband told me he will be getting an award at a formal event and I need a black dress. I emailed them ask them when they close and did they have any in my size in black they did. I arrived a lil before 6pm and walked out with a dress. Love this little shop....

I went into A Formal Choice looking for a wedding dress and was met with superior customer service and great dresses! The shop is small and I must have picked the hottest day of the summer, but the owner and her niece were cheerful while they helped me in and out of several corset-style dresses. While they specialize in modest gowns, their selection of mainstream gowns was of superior quality minus the huge price tag. Would highly recommend!!!

Just bought my daughters prom dress at this little shop. Very helpful shop owner assisted us and was willing to take a dress out of the window for my daughter to try on. The price was quite reasonable for this type of very formal dress. I would recommend the shop.
