Quality Asian Supermarkets are tough to find in the Twin Cities. There isnt one supermarket that can satisfy all my grocery needs. I always have to go to multiple supermarkets to get what I need. With that said, Shanghai Market is a decent place. I came across this supermarket unexpectedly. I was planning on going with my friend at the time to Shanghai Wholesale, but accidentally selected this one instead. They are both somewhat close to each other, but different indeed. Shanghai Market is a very small, but well packed market. They have a decent selection of vegetables like bok choy, napa, enoki, mushrooms, and others. Theres some frozen meats as well, but Im a flexitarian, meaning is A semi-vegetarian where i will eat occasional inclusion of meat products. I only eat meat when I go out to eat, which is a couple times a week. The vegetables are pretty fresh for the most part. I mainly come here to buy soft tofu for my soondooboo. The soft tofu here is a lot cheaper than most other Asian supermarket competitors in the area. Its only $1 at Shanghai Market, compared to $1.59 at United Noodles. The only downside is sometimes they dont have a lot in stock. I buy things in bulk, so Id hate to make the drive here and find out they only have a couple left. The rice here is also a lot cheaper than United (almost $10 difference for the 40/50 pound bag of rice). Something to note when shopping here is check the expiration of those canned, packaged products!! There are a lot of expired stuff here that they continue to sell. You can tell, they have overstock of products that dont sell well. They just keep it on the shelf. This mostly applies to their canned products, but double check everything in case! If you do that, then this place is a decent place to get your groceries. But as I mentioned earlier, I only come here to buy the tofu. Lastly, this place does take credit card, but there is a minimum, which I believe is around $15. This place also gives discounts if you pay in cash, so make note of that!

Love this store! Has tons of the food things I got to taste in Taiwan, and which I was craving before finding the Shanghai Market. My favorites: peanut rice milk (better than any chocolate milk), peanut soup and congees, the 1000 layer cookies, Thai milk teas, hot pot mixtures and the stuff to put in, like those cute cutouts with the pink flowers, but also tons of great tofu ingredients, really good soy sauce and oyster sauce, and pork floss or meat floss, and pot sticker dumplings, and I,m getting hungry as Im writing....

I would have give zero if I could. The cashier is a very MEAN women. If you bought something, even dry good such cookies ...etc. They wont let you return it the next day even its unopened with receipt. The guy inside has serious racial discrimination against people from other ethnic background. The staff here is rude, unkind, and prejudice. Do not shop here if you can.

Everything is so expensive, rather go to shanghai wholesale instead.这里的东西价格超贵,从没看到过价格那么贵的中国超市,以后再也不会来这了,宁愿去上海批发。

Algunos productos no tienen nombre en inglés así que no es muy fácil saber qué son todos los productos

The people who work here always have a smile for my 3 year old, whether we are strolling by or stopping for a bottle of water. In the future I look forward to checking out the products more thoroughly.

A fantastic variety of traditional Asian ingredients. Vegetables looked super fresh, prices are very reasonable. There is a $20 minimum for credit card purchases, so bring cash for small trips!

Good Asian grocery store. Have some unique ingredients and various frozen food options. Also it is a good place to search for hot pot food and soup base.
