This review is strictly for CATERING!!! When we first decided to go with Hyvee for our catering we met with them and we asked her several questions about the food. One of the questions was what she thought of the salmon. She explained that she didnt like salmon so she never tried it. Then we asked her in the chicken had gluten in it and she said she wasnt sure and she did not follow up on that. We asked her how the roasted potatoes were prepared and again she was unable to explain or find out for us. The only reason at this point we decided to go with Hyvee was because our lack of time before the event. Then we were told at the tasting that she forgot to ask them to put the potatoes on the tasting menu. We then asked when we needed to pay. She said at least 1 week in advance. Then we asked when we could come in and pay or if we needed to make an appointment. She said to come in anytime and pay. However when we came in on a Friday, at 2:00 we were told we couldnt pay and would have someone call us back. The girl who called us back told us that we had to know the amount to pay over the phone. So we then had to make an appointment to pay for the catering, which meant an extra trip for us. At this point we were a little reluctant but again we decided to go forward. We arrived to pay for the catering and the menu was completely wrong. There was only 2 items that we had even mentioned but again it wasnt what we requested for our event. This particular day the system was down so they were unable to tell us what the exact amount would be or provide us with a print out of what we ordered. They wrote down our card information and said they would email us a receipt. I am very sad that I have to write this review. Once the food arrived we were highly disappointed to find the carrots were raw with chunks of butter and chunks of brown sugar. I hate wasting food and that is unfortunately what happened with the carrots. Overall, I am disgusted with our experience with the catering department. I was told that I would be hearing back from a manager, if/when I do I will update our review.

We used Hyvees catering services for our daughters June wedding. Our experience got off to a rocky start when the scheduled caterer missed our appt (which is why my rating is only a 4) but a staff person sent for a manager and soon Michelle was answering our many questions. She calmed our nerves with her catering experience, product knowledge, and had valuable suggestions that saved us money. From that point forward the experience was very positive. Vince, polite and attentive, phoned several days before the event to confirm delivery time, directions, and payment. On the wedding day Alex arrived at the venue an hour earlier than expected which impressed us as there were detours and road construction that even confused the locals. But best of all the food was delicious and abundant! Our guests were very satisfied and full when they left for home. The hot things were hot, the cold things were cold, the fruit/cheese/breads and meats were very fresh. Thank you Hyvee for making our event a pleasure for everyone!

I dont usually post reviews, but the service weve received from hy-vee certainly warrants one. Even though I live next to a Walmart, I drive from the next county over at least once a week to buy groceries here. Why? Every week I see the same people working there. They are friendly, they seem to enjoy working there. Its like going to see family. Its also our favorite restaurant. We seldom eat out anywhere else. Their new Marketplace Grill has fantastic food, a menu so large its hard to choose, and great prices. Same with the casual dining. The whole family always gets what they want and are happy. One bad bit: they replaced Caribou Coffee with Starbucks. I get my weekly latte elsewhere now (although my wife gets hers at the Starbucks lol), but it doesnt otherwise stop me from shopping and eating there. Many of my friends and family are now hy-vee converts. If you arent shopping and eating here, you are missing out.

Ive never been the kind of person to complain about bad service, much less write a review. However, after today I felt compelled to say something. Im only giving this review two stars because Im feeling extra generous today. While this Hy-Vee is awesome and the service is great, this review is for the Starbucks inside. The staff (in particular, an older woman with a name that starts with a T) was incredibly rude. She made a disgusted grimace at me when all I asked for was a little extra microfoam on top of my latte, and talked back in an annoyed tone. She mustve been under the impression that I was a child because of my short height, or that I didnt know what I was talking about (Ive been working as a barista for several months now) because she was condescending and sarcastic with me. If you want to save your 5$ and get better service, there are plenty of better coffees available in Hy-Vee and at a lesser price.

I generally have a great experience here. The store is clean and the selection is great. Unfortunately this time I had 2 issues with two different employees. When I dropped off my USPS package inside I waited awhile to be helped and when I was helped they took my package and then said have a nice day. As I was walking away I looked back and my package was left sitting there by itself very easy for someone to come up and steal. Then when I went to the register to checkout after grabbing a few items, the employee behind the register spent 5+ minutes talking to the customer. He had mostly finished checking out and they just sat their shooting the breeze while the line grew. This was in the 15 items or less line too. I was not happy. I understand employees need to be kind and friendly but she wasnt even trying to cut the conversation off. She just kept on talking about her trip to Australia. Very frustrating.

Wow HyVee Chinese buffet is on par with most all other Chinese restaurants in the area for a grocery store and be able to put to shame some of the other competitors also their Sushi is wonderful its always fresh never taste fishy quality ingredients every time also the two different type of restaurants they have a more run and run out type seating area or they have a more casual dining experience if you wish to do that and order a cocktail or drink or a glass of wine the taken bake pizzas are great you can choose from whats in the case or you can ask them to make you a custom taken bake while youre shopping or you can just sit down and have a slice of pizza before you go shopping so you dont buy out half the store either way would highly recommend their pizzas well and the staff is truly helpful theyre willing to go the extra mile to help you

I recently got married and chose the Hyvee floral department to do our wedding flowers for the centerpieces. Right from the beginning Annie and everyone else in the department made everything so easy. She and her team made sure I had what I wanted for a price I could afford. They beat out two other competitors and I was able to have every flower I wanted. It was so stressful and I didnt have to worry once about them. When I picked them up the day of the wedding they were flawless. I would definitely recommend using the floral department for any of your floral needs!
