3 years ago we woke up one cold November morning with frost on the inside of our front door. We needed a new front door, but with one single income and a new baby we couldnt afford a brand new door. This store helped us get a beautiful door that we were able to afford! Fast forward 3 years later we have a better income, but the prices have gone up and customer service down. We have a hole the size of a sliding door in the side of our house from the previous owners. We need to build a wall and put in a window. We cant finish this big project because we do not have the money to fix it. We go to the restore because they helped us with the front door, and the windows were just shy of retail price, and the staff were very unhelpful. The products are donated they shouldnt charge $300 for a window or $600 for exterior door. What happened to the idea of helping people in need?

I used to really love this place and the philosophy behind it but something has changed. You can donate used goods and leftover supplies to this place and the money raised helps fund housing for the needy. The Restore used to do more than that. It helped me a new homeowner to find affordable merchandise and restore my short-sale into a livable home while unemployed. More recently, management has seen fit to grossly overcharge for merchandise sometimes more than retail. Someone has taken their eye off the ball here trying to maximize profit. The Restore seems to have forgotten that they also helped the less fortunate by making used items affordable. If you agree with this please help get the word out. Maybe someone has the ear of Jimmy Carter. They need to get back to their principals and I hate to think a new struggling homeowner won’t have this once great resource.

The concept of the restore started as a great one. Over time, prices have inflated to the point that one must question whether a deal is being had or not. Shocking inconsistencies in pricing that seek to alienate the place as an ideal source for those it is supposed to benefit. Rich and trendy is where this place is headed with recently observed prices. Deals for poor people that cant afford new materials was the virtuous founding concept, at risk of being lost for profits.

A home-improvement store run by volunteers. What they have is generally of good quality, with some treasures to be found. Some of the prices are a bit strange, but its run by volunteers so give them a break. This is a great place to donate to, as they will accept many household items used in construction and redecorating, plus furniture and anything related to home and yard maintenance.

Its well organized like the Rochester store. Washers, dryers, chairs and lighting are among the things that are great prices. All DIY fold need to go here. Its a retail rehab dream.

Love love this store! Lots of quality furniture and construction salvage. Way better stocked then the newer Restore in Minneapolis.
