PC Doodle returned my computer missing many interior screws, with serious damage after it was slapped back together by a technician in a fit of anger when I decided I didnt want to keep waiting for them to finish the job. The motherboard is now failing mysteriously, the CD and USB drives are not registering and it cant be fixed. The CD drive and other interior components were also missing screws and were not secure. This was a childish and unprofessional way to behave which caused serious and costly damage to my machine. The back story: Our laptop DC jack broke, and I brought it in on a Saturday and was told it would definitely be done by Tuesday. On Tuesday evening I stopped in, and he had not yet started repairs because he couldnt remember what was wrong with it, and he did not bother to call me to find out. He said he only needed two more days. On Thursday, just before I left work to go and pick it up I got a voicemail saying they needed more time to order a part. Had the part been ordered when I brought it in, this wouldnt have been a problem. I wasnt angry at this point, but I did want to take the machine somewhere else. When I arrived I got a snotty "I called you" and I said yes, you did, but Id like to pick the machine up anyway. His anger was apparent as he said that it was in pieces and would take a half hour to put back together. When he was done the technician grumbled to his coworker that I wanted to bring it somewhere else now, and then he said with a great deal of attitude "good luck getting it done somewhere else." Well I did go somewhere else, someone who offered service cheaper, with far less attitude, and spent extra time investigating the damage done. Unfortunately the machine wont be fixed and I will have to buy a new one.

Terrible customer service. Has ripped off my non-techie boss for the last time. Three problems with them (so far...I hope she will take my advice and let me help next time). She was having trouble with a pc and pcdoodle guy came to fix it. Did nothing. It was infected with at least 9 viruses which I found myself and removed. Then her printer broke and he sold her one for 90 dollars. It is so old that the computer can't find a driver to make it work with this crappy laptop he sold her. She could have gotten a brand new printer for less than 90 dollars. Then while I was gone he sold her a laptop that was at least ten years old with half the harddrive full of some architects programs. Why wouldn't you delete everything and try and give someone a nice computer when you charge them 150 bucks? You can buy a brand new one with 100+ times the power and an updated operating system for 300. The only reason she bought it is because she thinks she has to have a computer with Windows xp as the operating system to view the security cameras, but he must have failed to tell her that she could either run xp as a virtual machine on any operating system or that windows 7 professional comes with a xp mode just for businesses like hers that have products that are only xp compatible. Oh yeah, did I mention that crappy computer had an illegal copy of widows xp?!!!! I can't even use Microsoft security essentials to keep the viruses at bay. I don't know what to do, my boss won't talk to me before throwing her money away at this guy. She trusts him and he is completely taking advantage of her naivety. Please get a second opinion before trusting these people with your stuff.

Approximately one year ago, I was searching for a laptop repair shop near uptown, and found this place online. They offered the best price, so I agreed to bring in my computer- which had a broken screen. I received three calls from PC Doodle after turning the laptop in: First was to confirm the price, second was a courtesy call regarding the slight delay on the receipt of the screen. Third was to confirm that the screen was replaced, but there was another issue that could not be resolved. I received an offer to switch my HP laptop with a "similar" model. I agreed with the promise that the replacement would perform as well, if not better than mine, and the specs match. The technician let me know the replacement was supposedly faster (their quad core vs my dual core processor). All else is the same. The first thing I noticed almost immediately was the failing battery. My previous battery lasted 24 hours before a charge was needed. This machine now requires plug in within 20 minutes. It is also slower, and I receive error messages almost every day relating to Adobe Flash. Ive tried absolutely everything to no avail. So basically, I have trouble or no success watching many short clips and videos. My old system performed far better than this replacement. Because my laptop worked fine other than the screen before I brought it in, which leads me to believe they grabbed my system for a parts upgrade, and left me with an inferior model. (As I was typing this review, I received an error message relating to a temporarily failed driver). I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

Months ago I took my laptop into PC Doodle for a repair (due to a recommendation). Being a small business owner, I needed it repaired in a timely manner. Was done fairly quick and at first it seemed to be fixed, but a couple months later problem resurfaced. During the time of use, I used it for nothing more than checking work emails and scheduling. Called and talked to whom I believe was an owner or manager and was told to bring it in and they would look at it. A week later, no word from them, I called and was informed it was done. SWEET! Went to pick it up just to find out that I was to pay them $100. Scratching my head as to why no one told me what the problem was, or how much it would be, they just did it and assumed I wanted it done and would pay them. In my book, not the best costumer service. Not more than five uses or so, the same problem popped back up. Called, took it in, explained all the above and was informed "these things happen" and that "we may have not completely fixed it, but Im pretty sure we did". HUH? what did I pay you for than? I instructed them to LOOK at it and call me with info. They did so just to inform me that they could "fix" it and give me a deal ($50) since I have had to bring it in several times. Half a year later and I have a computer that has no internet access collecting dust.

Id been looking for a local place to repair my broken iPhone screen for less than Apple would charge for my 5s and driving around today, I saw this store (no longer on Hennepin but in my neighborhood now at 35th St and Minnehaha Ave, 55406). Id never it seen before. A little research on Google and a phone call later, I was satisfied and walked in with my phone. I felt like Id walked into the Lone Gunmens lair (from the X-Files in the 1990s) because they had just moved to this location three days before and looked it, and it was staffed with appropriately geeky men with odd haircuts (Where are the geeky women? Is the odd haircut a requirement?). They didnt have a new screen for my phone in white (only black) so the clerk offered to take the screen off his and sell it to me for a reduced price. Hed take the black one. I said okay. My phone was repaired within the hour. Looking brand new. For $30 less than a new one. I will definitely come back.
