Tried returning defective laptop with receipt in new condition and Manager said he did not have enough cash. How do you not have enough cash at 5pm for a $260 laptop return. He then said he could put the money on a credit card or send me a check. I refused to give him my credit card as I paid in cash. He then opens register and pulls out the magical cash he claimed he never had. He then lectures me about returning on the 14th day, how a $260 laptop is basically useless despite having no problems with a $200 laptop in the past. Then he asks how much speed does my internet get. I say 10 Mbps and he laughs and says no wonder it freezes on you, thats like dial up speed. Then he goes on about how he has 30 Mbps. 10 Mbps is no where near dial up and is actually a pretty fast speed. Ive played call of duty on 2 Mbps so hes obviously not very educated on internet speeds. He gives me my money without counting it and I leave. I count it outside to make sure and what do you know. He shorted me a $20 bill. I go back inside and he goes to the safe to retrieve it and says next time you should pay with a card instead of cash. Excuse me for thinking a large brand name store would have $270 on hand for a return. I feel sorry for the kid who rang me up. He was trying so hard to make my return smooth and the Manager ruined everything. That other review about the laptop return must be true. Stay far away from this and any other office Max., unless you like being degraded, humiliated and hassled.

I was going to return a camera to them. I knew of the restocking fee. I simply suggested to her that if they would eliminate that policy more customers would come buy stuff because of the security of no hassle returns. She replies that people can shop wherever they want. That I dont have to come here. With that attitude, I hope Office Max knows that with that kind of an attitude and motto, their business as a whole will tank. She proceeds to ask if I want to buy office paper. WHY WOULD I WANT TO BUY FROM YOU NOW? Go to Best Buy. Best return policy and the people at least try to take criticism even if it doesnt affect them. Its a sad business office max is runnning. NO WONDER YOUR STOCK HAS IS AT A SUPER LOW.

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! I also wish I had read the reviews before going to this store. I went to order customized holiday cards and the clerk told me that theyd be finished the next morning. After not receiving any notice that they were finished, I called them 3 days later to find out that they "cant find" the template. OK????!! then the guy says hes going to look for it and call me back in two hours.. well, its been 6 hours and I havent received a phone call. I call them again and Mike says "yeah...sorry... youll just have to cancel your order" TERRIBLE SERVICE, HORRIBLE STAFF. I agree with everyone else, not shopping here again.

I needed a new printer and I Went to Office Depot. Office Max on France Avenue in Edina. As soon as I walked into the store I was greeted by a smiling, Rachel Riley, a sales person. I told her what I was looking for - just a simple printer, that I could easily set up, and at a good price. She knew just the right printer and it was at a very good price. She was informative, friendly, and really wanted to help a customer in need (me) find just the right item and at the right price. I will certainly return to this Office Max in the future.

Their printing and scanning service is horrible, and Im being generous by saying that. staff does not know how to use the machines, my scans were barely readable. customer service was horrible, and costs for scanning were ridiculous! they should be ashamed of ripping off customers like that, and if thats what they are going to charge, the least they can do is make sure the staff knows how to use the machines so they can at least provide quality scans/print. Save yourself the frustration and avoid these guys at all cost.

I should have read the reviews before going here. I bought 8 printer ink cartridges and some paper and upon checkout the cashier notes that I was getting a $20 Promotional Gift. I though nothing about it until I got home and read the receipt. I was charged $20 for the "gift". I question the ethics of a company that ensures continued business by means of cashier trickery. I will have to spend the $20 "Promotional Gift" to get my money back - but will no longer shop at OfficeMax.

They tried telling me I couldnt take back my laptop, despite having the original receipt, the original packaging, it being within the 14 day return window, and a laptop in perfect condition. They claimed that because the box was open, they would only be able to give me store credit. I had to practicaly fight with the guy to have him look up the return policy. Then he goes "okay so you want that back on your original card?". A bunch of crooks.

Max was rude and unhelpful. I have a retail connect card with my company and the discount was not applying. Instead of looking into it he simply just said, "this is what its ringing up as." Prior to that I was looking for my ink and a white woman was also looking, an employee came and walked right past me to assist the white woman and didnt ask me if I needed help at all.

Wonderful customer service. I had an issue with a copy & print order that was partly my fault. The people in this department and the manager especially worked with me to ensure that the order was completed and of high quality. Caring for their customers is their top priority. It is difficult to find customer service like this anymore.

The staff is extremely unhelpful. My husband and I recently purchased a desk from this Office Max. No one offered to help us the desk into our car until I asked the manager. The employee who did assist us was very rude and insulting to my husband. Will not shop at this store again.

I think the staff is friendly and helpful. I just dont like being up-sold on protection plans. This is likely a corporate-driven initiative and I realize they arent the only retailer that does this. I just dont like this practice in general.

Bought a desk to be delivered and had to sit and wait over 20 minutes because they couldnt print a damn receipt. Youd think an office supply store would be able to accomplish such a small task.
