I must say, im extremely unimpressed with their service thus far. My girlfriend ordered me a power noodle from Thorne Brothers, but they seem to be having trouble with their blanks. Winter comes each year; to be unprepared to sell a popular rod just before Christmas, when ice fishing is in the back of every fishermans mind, seems like a complete oversight by the guys at Thorne Bros. Youd think they would have hundreds of these made by October, just prepping for the winter season, but it seems like thats not how they run their business. The customer service has also been a nightmare; they never reached out to us to let us know they were having problems getting the Power Noodle blanks this year. My girlfriend had to call them two weeks following her order (which was placed on Dec. 6th) to see if shed even have this gift in time for Christmas, since she had heard nothing from them after placing the order. They said she would NOT have it for Christmas, but that shed absolutely have it within 3 weeks (of Dec 19th). Three weeks go by, then four; not a word from Thorne Bros. Finally she emails them again after not hearing anything and they say they can switch the order or cancel it. Wonderful. Would not do business with them again. Customer service matters. Please learn that.

Sent a reel to be worked on, and after a month I contacted the maintenance guy and he said he was waiting for parts. 2 months later they called me once to ask for payment and to send my reel back, but my inbox must have been full because they said they were unable to leave a message. I finally had to contact them 2 months later to get them to send me my reel to use on a fishing trip I was packing for. They wrote down the wrong address and had to send it twice, to get it to me. In the long run they returned my reel before I was to leave on my annual Canadian fishing trip, but they were not easy to deal with and did not seem organized at all. Cant speak towards the workmanship yet, but perhaps Ill update the review later. **update to previous review. As I kind of expected, there was no improvement in my reel after getting it back from Thorne Bros. I took it on my Canadian fishing trip, and much like before it bound up after I landed my first fish. You can believe my disappointment. I cannot speak towards their sales staff, but you can be sure that Tom at Thorne Bros will never be touching my Shimano again. Very disorganized and ineffective.

Been a returning customer for a few years now. Its a good tackle shop but the live bait scoops have become incredibly small. Twice now this season I have had to purchase two scoops to get the amount of one scoop from any other bait store I support. Different employees with each Thorne Bros visit. One scoop of crappie minnows is 20 at most, No exaggeration. Really frustrating when you need to buy two scoops just to get an actual scoop. Had polite brief conversations about the scoops but I needed to purchase a third if I wanted more. Its a business, I understand this but they sure would not be happy if I was the one skimping on the scoops.

Employees are friendly, honest and know their stuff. Absolutely the best custom rods with decent prices on reels and tackle- best tackle slection in MN. Release tools are kind of expensive but they have everything youll need to GET PREPARED for muskie fishing wich is very important!!! Practice CATCH AND RELEASE! Handle the fish like a baby so it can survive, grow, reproduce. Muskie stocking is important! They keep smaller game fish population in check so there isnt tons of small game fish wich allows walleyes and other fish to grow large

I brought my reels in 3 weeks prior to me finally picking them up, I asked for a bid for one on my reels that didnt work and the other two were just cleanings. I never got a phone call, "Tom" said he called me and left a message, this was not the case. When I asked him what was wrong with it he said he didnt even look at it...so why would he even have called me? I hate liars and I refuse to bring business to liars. I will not bring any reels there for service again.

Thorne Bros is without a doubt the best fish shop I have ever dealt with. I have purchased now multiple sonar units, many reels, rods, and tackle over the last 2 years. I have interacted with many of their staff at the fish expos and through phone and email correspondence. They are always professional and accommodating. They have helped with a couple different product issues, in which they went above and beyond for me. Thanks for everything!

Terrible costumer service! Out hundreds and hundreds of dollars! Scam artists and Liars! Dont ever order from them if ordering from a far or to Canada. If your product doesnt arrive in 30 days you get scammed!! Product got lost and they got reimbursed and kept my money. Asked very very politely to get the problem resolved and just got rude ignorant replies.

Josh and John let us use that space for free. If you ever need anything fishing related i would strongly recommend for you to shop at Thorne Brothers.

Called and asked of they had a product that cabelas didnt have ( Otter magnum sled cover) and they had a lot in Stock. In that aspect there great Went last year looking at flashers and they were a little pushy towards the more expensive Marcums

Love the selection of baits! Not to pricey, although you know how fishing goes! Everything is very neat in the store. Friendly staff except for one occasion when I was getting line spooled on, the man seemed to have no interest in being there.

Perfect stop for your fishing and more importantly ice fishing. The staff knows what they are talking about, they are pretty helpful. I gave them 4 stars because the one guy helping me was paying more attention to the vikings game than me.

If buying gear (rods, reels, electronics or baits etc...) from people that actually know how to use, install or fish them...this is THE spot to go. You will not find a more knowledgeable group of anglers or better gear anywhere.
