I ordered shoes for my son in the store. The man told me I could get them the next business day for 5 dollars. This was on a Saturday. My order confirmation showed 1 business as the shipment method. We received them on the following Friday. The online chat associate said the order was processed on 6/5 and FedEx ground is 5 days. I said my order shows 1 business day as the shipping method so an order processed on 6/5 should be delivered 6/6. She wouldnt respond after that and the chat was stopped due to inactivity

Academy s online sales is a joke almost impossible to get any information on store availability. When you do find a # to call you get someone that doesnt speak any English and doesnt know what youre calling about. Your better off calling the specific store directly and asking that specific department the question of availability. They are reasonably priced and great in store attitude. Their online portion needs some work. Hope this helps someone. Thanks

This is now the place I go when I need a new pair of shoes, huge selection and great prices. They also carry a very nice selection of clothing. When they have sales you can really find some good buys! They carry a huge selection of ammunition and during the 2013 shortage I had the most luck finding ammunition at Academy. They have a large selection of firearms with some of the best prices I have found.

Very clean and had plenty of varieties but staff wasnt very friendly. We stopped on our way to our camping destination to browse and stretch our legs and I had to ask three different employees to direct me to the bathroom before one of them actually pointed me in the correct direction. Im hoping by chance I ran into two new employees that werent familiar with the lay of the store just yet.

The store is large and roomy, and has anything sporting goods you could possibly need. The staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. Ive never had a bad experience here. What I dont like though is how hard it can be to find exactly what youre looking for, because they have so much. But Id rather them have too much than not have what I need and force me to go somewhere else.

Weve always been treated with professional courtesy. Good to high quality products at very reasonable prices. If they didnt have what we were looking for they ordered it and had it shipped to our house. Today we bought a camp stove and a marine grade ice cooler and both were a few dollars cheaper than on Amazon, so we felt better about spending money in our community.

Normally the prices are cheaper them bass pro or Cabelas and in Springfield you only have bass pro as an option so academy sports helps keep prices down and more accurate. I like how they back up everything they sell including their shoes with a lifetime warranty. If the item does not work properly they do take it back and they work well with all the customers.

Asked the gal behind the watch counter to tell me about a watch. She looked at the outside of the box, did not attempt to look at anything inside and read it to me. I asked a specific question about the item and she acted as if I was putting her out and wasting her time. I handed her back the watch and left. Ill buy something from a retailer who cares.

This is my go to place for shoes. We have three children and other places shoes fall apart too fast. Just better quality here. And if you do have a issue they have a no questions asked return policy to make it right. The selection in each department is great and if they dont your size or product they will order it in from a store that does.

An outstanding selection of sporting goods and wear. Their end of season/beginning of season sales are good. Nice selection of ammunition, with reasonable prices on firearms. A good one-stop-shop for outdoor enthusiasts who dont want to pay Bass Pro prices.

I can hardly ever find what I need here. It is always packed on the weekends, youd think they were giving stuff away when in fact their prices are always more expensive. Only reason I have them 2 stars is that their employees are normally halfway helpful.

So go in to buy two of the same pistols. The manager didnt think much of me. She thought for sure I didnt have enough money. She was assuming I didnt have the funds. What a terd of a person. Wheres the love Academy Sports and Outdoos???

Unlike many (if not ALL) stores Ive been to in the past, Academys prices are almost always at or below the price if the same item online. My only complaint is that the service from associates is less than stellar most of the time.

Always in stock and decent prices for sporting goods. Clothing selection for women is for those who want to look cute in the gym rather than those who need quality clothes for cycling or hiking. Good athletics shoes selection.

Love this store, it rocks! Its basically Walmart for everything badass, but one thing, the toilet paper sucks! I mean give me a break, crapping their is a nightmare! I finished my shopping trip feeling like i was wet sanded.

Who, Us?

They have a good selection, but I have to say that customer service makes the experience. When my question is answered with, "Uhh... I dunno... Check over there." I feel like that is not quality customer service.

The store seemed unorganized when we would ask where something was they would just point so we had to search outself then we paid had to go back and ask for our receipt we had bought shoes and were unsure of size

Very reasonably priced items of good quality. Some of the shelves though can be disorganized because of other customers but not fixed for a while so always be sure the price is for what youre grabbing.

Selection is good. Pricing is lower than most big box stores, especially on hunting/ammunition. Customer service could be better, but I understand its hard to always weed out the poor employees.
