WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. This store and its employees are a complete joke. The first time was asked if we wanted to open a store card, upon replying yes - the "salesman" stated he actually didnt know how to complete that transaction and that we would have to step aside and wait for someone - we declined. Second visit was to purchase some hunting gear - since absolutely no one was around to check on sizes we walked around to find a rep only to be told that he only deals with shoe purchase and is new and walked away. Finally found another rep and waited 30 minutes only to be told that they didnt have the size we were requesting and they didnt feel like going through the big shipment that just came in so to call back in the middle of the week. Finally - we went in tonight asking if I could purchase a gift card for 50, pay with another gift card of 20 and pay the remaining balance. Seems easy enough, right?! It took three people to figure it out after being told no multiple times and having to ask why it was problem - finally when we were told that we could complete this purchase - the woman (Sue) "helping" us mocked me saying that wasnt my original request. Everyone I have ever encountered here has been totally rude and condescending. I will never step foot in this store again and, like the other unsatisfied customer who posted below, will tell all of my friends and family the same. Please learn to hire more competent staff.

My boyfriend and I stopped in Gander 9/25 to look at possibly buying a new shotgun. When we got there, there were quite a few people standing around waiting but the men behind the counter made sure to greet and let each customer know theyll be right with them. We waited maybe 10 minutes and were helped by a gentleman, I didnt catch his name, he was very helpful and fully admitted that he knew more about handguns than shotguns when my boyfriend was asking specific questions regarding the difference between a couple brands. He brought Mike over to better answer our questions and he was a great help! Mike was very knowledgeable and helped Andy decide on which gun best suited his needs. We were there until almost close purchasing these guns and met many of Mikes coworkers, which were all very friendly. We had a very good experience with our gun shopping and are very pleased with our purchase. We will definitely send our friends over to Mike for any of their shotgun needs. Thank you! -Andy & Ashley

I originally bought a used bersa thunder .45 from the Woodbury mn location and went to shoot it with in days! The damn thing didnt eject 95% of the shells(only put maybe 15-20 rounds through it). So I had to drive from Hastings mn to Blaine to have it serviced under the 30 day warranty (because of the Woodbury location being shut down)! I have had my pistol in there for about roughly 1.5-2 months! I have called multiple times and was told waiting on parts. I called the other day and was told the part was in and it would be installed in the next day. The next day has come and gone and still no call saying it was ready! This place has zero communication skills and doesnt seem to wanna keep the customer informed on whats going on! Thank god they are going out of business so I never have to deal with them again! Lets hope I get my gun back before they are completely closed!

The customer service you receive here is just horrible. In all departments. Especially the gun department. They have a bad culture here and its just a bad environment to walk into. I will never spend another dollar at gander mountain. If you want this place to succeed hire better management and employees please. If you have a complaint your told you can probably file one online. Thats what james the "hardline manager" told me. Way to help your customers. I walked in with $1000 cash ready to spend. Now I will go to cabellas or my local gun shop. I tried to reach out to the DM ofcourse no luck. I know this place has a reputation for not being good at customer service but I did not expect to be treated so rudely. Maybe it was because how I looked. Cause I walked in with shorts and a old t shirt. Never judge a book by its cover.

Got a great price on some reloading brass especially with reloading stuff being 40% off at the moment. They have Top Brass, a fair amount of Hornady brass and some American Eagle 7.62 x 51 (aka Lake City) brass in stock. I even considered getting a second reloading press as they have a few left (Hornady Classic, RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme and a Lyman press). Also new guns are off by 25% but it seems like the selection is getting low. There is still one rack section full of ARs. Else a decent amount of handguns and hunting rifles take up the bulk. They got some nice clothes on sale as well. Dangerous for the wallet to stop here at the moment.

Rated 2 stars because customer service was no where to be found. Wife and I were looking to buy us each a pair of new hiking boots. An employee literally walked by us twice and did not ask if we needed help or if we need a certain size while browsing. We waited patiently and browsed through a great selection of boots, but I ended up trying to find an employee. Finally, I found a young lady to help us, but she did not seem happy at all for me to stop her just to help us in the shoes section. Luckily the sizes requested fit nicely and we didnt have to bother her again. Sadly this will be the first and last $300 I spend at Gander Mountain.

I went into use a gift card I received, picked out my merchandise and proceeded to the register to check out where I was told the gift card was no good because of the bankruptcy filing. Funny my money was good when it was purchased and in turn a promise of merchandise. Guess wrong!!! They tell me to file a claim with the courts. Spend more time and money to get maybe five cents on the dollar. They win, got there hand in my pocket and wont quit squeezeing!!!! I cant rate them as there is no minus. I gave them one star because I cant leave this post with out rating them.

Satisfaction guaranteed? Pft! My friend purchased me a $100 fishing reel for my birthday and I decided to return it for in store credit this past weekend because I already own one. Despite me having original receipt and product never been used, the whole experience felt as if I need to get "approval and permission" from a manager. Embarrassing, Id say. Prices are competitive but that doesnt change how the 1st cashier made me felt. Other then that, I went to customer service cashier (I forgot his name) but he was a much younger guy who took care of me.

horrible service. never do i feel like i am welcome in this store. came here more than once and always the same feeling. no customer service either. i tried to buy a scope for my boyfriend and waited about 30 min maybe more after i ask a worker for help. they told me they were busy and for me to wait so i was being polite and waited but all they did was chat with each other behind the gun counter so after 30 min or so i walk out and went to cabela. this place is now on my never go to list. advice to other shopper "STAY AWAY IF YOU LIKE CUSTOMER SERVICE"
