Pros: Local Shop, Good Selection, Local Team Attire and Accessible to Neighborhood Cons: Product Quality, Customer Service Until recently, I have left generally satisfied with the several small purchases I have made from St Mane. That satisfaction level changed this week when I purchased a top of the line D-Gel DNA Control aluminum broomball stick from their Minneapolis Nokomis area store. As a tall person, I chose to buy the D-Gel because it is the longest broomball stick I have seen sold in the metro-area and considerably longer than the Acacia and Forest Ice brand aluminum sticks I have used for the past four seasons. The same day as my purchase, I used the D-Gel in warm ups and unfortunately had the shaft bend noticeably within the first 10 shots I took with it. Given that this had never happened with the Acacia or Forest Ice aluminum sticks I play with (which sell for half the price of the D-Gel) I quit using it immediately and contacted St. Mane the following day to see what they could do about the damaged product. The folks at St Mane contacted D-Gel directly and were told by the manufacturer that they would not honor a warranty on the stick to St Mane and therefore St Mane chose not to offer an exchange, replacement or refund to me. The sales person, who recognized me from buying the stick the day before, said he ran it past the owner and that there was nothing they could do. He justified it by informing me that buying an aluminum broomball stick was like purchasing a wooden baseball bat and that you run the risk of breaking it even if it is on the first use. Its unfortunate I bought a lemon and my fault I did not fully understand St. Manes return policy on a brand of product I had never used before. I am a proponent of shopping locally and supporting small businesses, which is why I chose St Mane over a Dicks, Sports Authority or another Big Box Store. I will chalk this one up to a lesson learned and moving forward will always make sure to fully understand a shops return policy and whether or not they are willing to back the products they sell to their customers. I gave a 2 out of 5 rating because the St. Mane folks didn’t do anything malicious or cruel, they just didn’t sell me a quality product or do right by a customer when both parties acknowledged that the product was a poor. With that said, the sales person did apologize for the product issues and told me to have a nice day.

Worst place to get any Sporting Goods or over priced low quality letterman jackets. I originally ordered a jacket on January 17th. When I order it if they had it in stock at the warehouse which they called and found out they did it would be no more than 2 to 3 weeks. A month-and-a-half later they call me and tell me my jacket that I ordered was in remember I ordered a black jacket with red lettering when I got there they had a brown jacket with no lettering because the order form for the lettering was lost they told me to come back 2 weeks. I did so after being pissed off that I was lied to in the first place. The second time to finally retrieve my jacket almost 2 months after I ordered the seems were coming apart and stitching was messed up and when I called about it and asked for the owner to call me to correct the problem the young High School Punk behind the counter had absolutely no recollection of what good customer service was and instead of taking my number for the owner to call me back he told me that after they messed my jacket up and I prepaid for that they no longer want to do business. Funny how a high school punk can have a say on who the company he works for dose business with good thing I paid for it with a credit card so I can dispute the charges and hopfull they train there employees better so they can get a good review some day. I hope the owner will see this and call me to make it right so the BBB dont have to get involved

I own the store in this review left by cory It is unfortunate that the customer that wrote this review does not realize that if the manufacturer of the product does not warranty a piece of equipment the store does not also. There is a sigh right next to all broomball shoes sticks and protective equipment that clearly states: unfortunately with broomball there is no warrenty on balls or sticks that have been hit once or more. This is not our warrenty but is the manufacturers warranty. This manufacturers non warrenty is given to all retaill and online stores Throughout North America Bob St.Mane St.Mane Sporting Goods
