Good Morning, For the record, I consider English Garden to be a top-notch nursery. Nevertheless, it is my opinion that english gardens prices are much higher then other nurserys and stores in the West Bloomfield area. That is okay due to the quality, presentation and English Gardens return policy. However, I think with the high prices english garden should have knowledgeable employees working in their stores. On more than 10 occassions when I ask questions regarding flowers, plants etc the person had no knowledge of flowers or gardening. This morning i called and requested information regarding SunPatients, the person I talked to this morning at approx. 9:00 a.m. indicated that English Gardens does carry them. Then, when I called back to determine if English Gardens would be carrying regluar impatients this season, Scott had to refer to Jodi for answers. Unfortunately, Jodi said that they would not be carrying Sunpatients only New Guinea Impatients. Initially, Scott did not want to reveal Jodis name when asked and when he finally did and I ask to speak to her, I was told she was in a meeting. Jodi, is a wonderful manager she is always helpful and knowledgeable.

The one star reviews are simply B.S. English Gardens is by far the best nursery on this side of town. Farmer Johns is also pretty good but its been awhile since Ive been there. Bordines is the only place I know of which is better but that store is in Rochester. Prices are definitely higher but the plants and other products are of a significantly higher quality and it carries many items you cant find at Lowes or Home Depot. As for service, there are usually staff available who are fairly knowledgeable but one cant expect expert advice from seasonal help.

This is one of two of my sure bet places to get my annuals. The flowers are always healthy, there is an amazing selection, and throughout the entire summer they stand out, compared to flowers bought elsewhere. They have a selection of ceramic pots that is second to none in my opinion. If you sign up for their emails, throughout spring and early summer, there is always something on sale on Wednesdays, usually 50% off. I always get my begonias then. Make sure you have an hour to spare when you go, there is so much to see.

Worst ever. Do not recommend it at all. It was my wifes birthday and they had promised to get the flowers delivered to her but they could not find her at her place of work (when the cell phone was in the order). The customer service is even worst. They dont have attitude to make the customer happy. They ruined my day and a special occasion for us. Will never use them again.

Wonderful service -- and flower arrangement. I called from Massachusetts after noon on a Saturday, asking if they could deliver flowers that day to my aunt for her 100th(!) birthday. They could have refused this one-time customer, or sent her the dregs of the day, but instead put together and delivered a wonderful arrangement. Thanks from everyone in our family!

For outdoor plants and trees, the prices are quite high at the beginning of the season, but go to 1/2 in the fall. If you go in the AM on a weekday, there is usually knowledgeable help available. There are cheaper items at the "Big Box" stores, but E G has many of the more unusual varieties .Just wait until fall, when the prices drop to reasonable amounts.

Was looking for raised patio planter for some small pots. The nice one I liked was $160!! I saw a few smaller ones for $60-80 that cheaply made, wobbly and the screws holding it together were visibly rusted just sitting in the store. Disappointing. Im still giving them 3 stars only because they had a large selection.

Amazing service when I visited. Multiple employees asked me how I was doing and if I needed help. The hydrangea selection is great. The blond girl in the nursery was extremely helpful, telling me the differences between the different types and helping me pick out the best variety for me. Would recommend to all!

Terrible prices on perennials. Absolute GOUGING on other items ($499 for a small buddha, $2500 for a cheap outdoor set, $599 Weber spirit).... on top of this the place has 15 employees on the floor and the service is still lacking and rude.

Went to English Gardens yesterday for the 1st time for help with a major gardening project......everyone was too busy with tasks in the store to help. Wont be back and will take my business elsewhere.

Go on a weekday morning at 10 and its empty and the help is splendid. Prices are high unless you look carefully. Buy trees, furniture at end of Fall etc. Top notch plants for landscaping.

Great selection, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Great alternative for someone looking for more than the what the "big box" store has to offer.

Knowledgeable and very helpful staff. Relatively decent prices. All types of flora, with cut flowers in the front, as well.
