I had the most unfortunate experience at Ufuri. I had really really wanted to support a locally owned business rather than a big box store. I stopped in without my dogs a couple of weeks earlier to check out the place and all seemed pretty good. I made my appointments and arrived a couple of minutes early. It was nearly 10 minutes between the time I walked in the door and then walked back out - that is how long it took to get my dogs checked in. I was told it would take between 2 and 4 hours... a large window but it usually takes at least 3 hours from my experience. After 4 1/2 hours, I call the salon and was told they were just finishing up my dogs. It would take 10-20 MORE minutes but please give them 30 to be safe. When I arrived at the requested 30 minutes, both of my dogs were still being groomed. This was now pushing 5 hours! What were my dogs doing for the majority of those 5 hours??? they were in a crate!!! After I got them home and inspected their cuts, I can only say they were the worst grooms I have ever had. While I REALLY REALLY Wanted to support small business, I will NEVER be taking my dogs there again. There are NO reasons why a (crappy) groom should take 5 hours. If the salon does not have enough help to do a good job in a reasonable amount of time, the customer should be given the option of rescheduling. Originally I was told the reason for the delay was that they had a groomer quit that morning. In the owners response below, it seems the reason is now because of a water leak. Regardless, dogs do not need to be stressed for 5 hours in a crate.

Not impressed At. All. Ive never had a worse groom for my dog......ever. I asked for her to be shaved, she wasnt. She was there for over 4 hours before she was groomed, and my dog wasnt even started when I went to pick her up. Found another groomer who re-groomed my dog 3 weeks later, and what a difference!!!!!! Save your money.

I have the wonderful oppertunity to start working their knowledge is the number one thing that is stressed here. She knows so much about grooming and animals it amazes me. Her groomers are expected to know just as much. The caliber of work that comes out is show dog professional. Even when the dog is a designer dog.
