Nintendo makes fun games, Disney makes family movies, and The North Face makes quality jackets. These are facts of life. I came here to return a jacket I ordered online and look at a new liner. A lady processed my return and we had a very pleasant conversation. I dont like that they sell any down products, as its no longer necessary. As an alternative, their ThermoBall synthetic insulation saves animals the suffering of being plucked alive, as people often do to harvest down. The Summit series is a further development of this synthetic material and looks to compete fully with down in every category. I tried out the ThermoBall liner and went with the hooded version, as it helps retain heat in the head. When I checked out they noted their incredible lifetime warranty. Read stories online about the lengths to which they go to help people with their products. It makes their jackets worth the added price. The high quality, accommodating service, and smart styling make The North Face the best place to buy a jacket. Update (November 2016): I had an astoundingly awesome experience with Will, who is a supervisor. He answered all my questions to 110%. Hes an expert on all of their product lines and has used them himself. He can thus provide great context on what works for what. He knows every little feature of the products, inside and out. He is whip smart and knows how the technologies in the products work. He is one of the best retail employees I have ever worked with. Kudos to Will, he provides the kind of service everyone can aspire to.

Top notch customer service. I brought back a pair of boots which I ordered online and was returning due to them arriving damaged and not fitting. I originally used paypal to pay which made the whole situation complicated but they were very gracious and got the return sorted out without any questions.

Drove to the downtown Seattle store to return before hours say closed at 8 and the folks decided to close the store early at 7:30pm and wouldnt let my girlfriend and I both in to exchange our new summit series coats. What corporate store closes early a few days after Christmas?

Check out end of season sales! High prices become very reasonable for North Face Gear. The selection is ok. I have seen better in Wisconsin of all places. Lacks a lot of NF goods but coat and pack selection is great.
