5/24/2014 - Just had to replace the catalytic converter and two more wheel bearings. I went to trade in the vehicle at a dealership to find out that the Carfax Lane Car Company presented me was bogus. Carfax found mileage inconsistency. The mileage was rolled back 8k before Lane took ownership. How convenient. Now Im stuck with this truck. Thanks for not disclosing this information to me. Im pretty sure thats illegal. Im now looking into this issue further... 1/27/14 - Now the engine is going. I bought the truck for $11, 500. After this...I will have paid nearly just as much in repairs. This is complete bullshit. I wanna drive this truck through their front door. 1/20/14 - I purchased a Yukon Denali from these guys about a year and a half ago. Since then, Ive had to replace all brakes, calipers, pads, just replaced the brake lines, the transmission went not even 6 months after purchasing the vehicle, driver side heated seats no longer work, had to replace the air suspension and compressor, the Bose sound system just went out three weeks ago and now theres a leak in the manifold.... I didnt think I was getting into this. This truck is like brand new now, and after dumping an additional nearly five-thousand dollars into it...I wont be getting rid of it anytime soon. I will NEVER recommend this dealership to anyone. I understand what "SOLD AS-IS" means, but i didnt expect THIS. Im a fool for purchasing a vehicle here. Close your doors.

BUYERS BEWARE!! Very bad business ethics/morals - pushy sales strategies and scam techniques. Took off original car parts and switched with cheap, less expensive ones! This has to be the worst dealership in the country, I do not believe anyone could do worse! DO NOT set foot in this dealership or call them or your worst nightmare will come true and you will lose tons of money!! It all started when I seen an ad on Craigslist for a decent priced car that appeared to have a good CarFax Report. I gave them a call to inquire about more information on the vehicle. I was not sure if I was going to purchase or not. They literally called me every single day pressuring me into "just taking a look at the car" and going for a test ride. After a test ride I decided I liked the way the vehicle drove and purchase it. The very next day my cars battery died. I opened the hood to find an old small rusty battery from 1998 yet my car was a 2007!! They purposely switched batteries to save money, also the transmission dropped a month later and then I found out that they switched the original car tires from the 2007 model to less expensive tires from a 1990 something vehicle. When I called to question them, they simply said the car was sold "AS IS" and it was not their problem. Very dishonest ethics at this dealership that take off original car parts and put cheaper ones on to make more money! Hopefully one day they will be on Fox News Crime Stoppers!

My son stopped at Lane Car Company to "look" what they had during their huge inventory clearance sale. He was worked over by two different salesmen for over 3 hours. He told them he didnt want the car but they prevented him from leaving by keeping his car keys after evaluating his trade. After wearing him out, they finally made a deal at $14.500 for a $12,000 car but when they wrote up the contract, they put down $17,500 and tacked on a $2000 service contract he told them he didnt want several times. With financing, he walked out with a $24,000 deal, twice what the car was worth. After repeatedly calling the company and asking to talk directly to Jim Lane (and always given the brush off - nothing they could do now). I went to Michigan and visited Lane Car (I live in another state) and finally got to talk to Jim Lane. He was angry because we had filed a complaint with the consumer protection department (after 3 months of trying to talk to him) and just wanted to argue that the car was worth it, the trade-in was garbage, and he would do NOTHING to make this right. He couldnt even tell me (apparently they didnt have a record of it) who the two salesmen were. Your hometown dealer? He told me he didnt want to talk to me because the car wasnt mine but now that Ive taken out a second mortgage on my home to pay for it, I guess it is! Thanks Jim.

Buyer Beware!! It looks like a lot of 5 star reviews below are fake, simple one sentence reviews with the employees names plastered like they are or their family members are writing them. Foolishly attempted to purchase a Jeep in 2012 and not doing so was the best decision I made... Watch your credit! They ran my numbers through 10 different banks at the same time to get me approved which all were hard hits on my credit score. Never told me about it until I was approved at some astronomical interest rate, and my credit is not even remotely bad. Their power went out due to an ice storm and thankfully I hadnt signed anything yet, but put a security deposit down on the Jeep and took it to my mechanic who immediately asked if I had bought it already. Hoisted it up and....RUST EVERYWHERE!!! These guys are like Danny DeVitos character in the movie Matilda, doing the bare minimum to make the car look presentable knowing it will crap out shortly afterwards. Very displeased with everything, I asked for my security deposit back and the head hancho came out to try and talk me down, but instead ended up cussing me out when I wouldnt shake his hand. 3 strikes youre out Lane Car Co.

I wished I would have read more of the reviews besides just the overall score. Obviously there are some doctored reviews as a majority are "A google user". I purchased 2 cars from the dealership and immediately started having problems with both. I purchased the cars last year and have sunk over $3,000 in to both of them in repairs. Each car had low miles (39k and 50K) and was said to have been looked over but apparently not very well. One of which was the rear windshield wiper didnt work. That is basic stuff not anything you have to look deep for. When we test drove the vehicle the brakes would shake when stopping. We assumed it was the rotors and brought it up to the salesman before we purchased the car. He said it would be fixed before we picked up the car. We took the car back to the dealership because it was not resolved. It still took two trips after to get it resolved. They do the least amount of work to sell junk cars. BEWARE!!!!!!

The service was good and everyone was friendly. There was also a problem with the cruse control that they fixed. However, they are not to be trusted. I was told that they check their cars from top to bottom. They even gave me an off brand carfax report which showed that the car had never had any problems. In good faith, I bought the car because it fit my needs and I liked giving my business to the "hometown" dealer. A few months later, I have discovered that one of the rear coil springs was broken, the engine is leaking oil and the front struts are on their last leg. I have also discovered that the car has been in an accident. The long and short of it is that I was a sucker and trusted them. They are the stereotypical used car salesman. I will not be buying another car from them and I will be telling my friends NOT to buy from them.
