My dog Calvin just stayed the weekend in the Pets Hotel and what a great experience it was for him! You can bring whatever toys/items of your dogs youd like, and you can bring your own food too. They ask you a couple questions about their personality and demeanor and ask for your pets vaccination records for their protection and the protection of other dogs, which to me is one of the most important things. And then when you pick your dog up they give you a "Pawgress Report" they filled out, telling you how your dog did! If he ate his food at each meal, if he went potty regularly, if he slept good at night and played good and if he was overall content. I actually watched Calvin in the play area through the glass wall for a minute before I asked them to bring him out to me, and he was in there with about ten other dogs and an employee and everyone was enjoying themselves! I just know my boy had a great time I cant wait to bring him back again. It was a little pricey, but it was worth it. And the employees all loved Calvin, we shop there pretty regularly so they have come to know him! Thanks Petsmart for being a great place for pets!

I had a funeral to go to and my usual dog-sitter was busy, so I wound up bringing my 8/9 Month old Lab mix "Edison" to the PetsHotel service they offer, he stayed two days one night and took part of their day-camp. Ed liked the staff when I brought him in and when I left. They had no problems with him either, though he did have an accident and went potty on/near one of his toys, there are many possible reasons for this though. My only real concern is that Ed was absolutely exhausted/sore when I picked him up, he wound up sleeping a good 12+ hours and has been taking it easy since we got up this morning. Other than that, Ill be bringing him back for Day-Camp or for any future overnight stays. Edit: While I do not blame the staff here, I have had an issue with fleas ever since picking my dog up, these fleas are very resilient and so far the only way to get rid of them has been a flea dip and two different kinds of flea meds

My go-to stop for grooming and boarding and its 2+ hours from home! The store is close to the international airport, as well as the major expressways for western Michigan US 31, US 131 and I 96 - so if Im going anywhere, this kennel is pretty much along the way. All-indoor kennel is a nice idea - no chance of escape into busy Grand Rapids, no bugs, ok maybe my dog misses playing in the snow. The PetsHotel staff are all very friendly and accommodating. My dog Keyush is always overjoyed to visit with them. Hes old and kind of grumpy around younger energetic dogs, and the staff take the time to play with him one on one. Hes always tired when I pick him up after boarding. The groomers are also top notch. Theyre patient with this big old dog thats not crazy about getting wet, but he does like a good massage and brushing. Every now and then the Hills rep is there, and you can score big $$$ off Science Diet food.

Just picked up my german shepherd after five days and shes worn out and acting totally normally. We received a very nice report card that included personal touches. They also returned the leftover food - much appreciated! I recommend booking through the local store staff if its a last minute trip as the online booking system takes a few days to sync and you could show up before the store knows you are coming. (Selecting hotel reservations on the phone system routes you to corporate also, so get the local store number). When this happened to me they were more than willing to register as a walk in - just takes a little longer to complete the paperwork. Anyway! staff were extremely nice and willing to accommodate my less dog-friendly pup. Also great job with clipping nails short and cleaning her ears. Thanks, Sarah and Dawn!

Worst place to buy guinea pigs. EVER. This is the second time in the past 3 years I brought a guinea pig home from petsmart and it had ringworm! Either their facility is dirty or its the breeder. The first time I bought one And realized she had ringworm i returned her. This time I brought this pig right to the vet at cascade animal hospital who said he had an upper respiratory issue and then the labs came back positive for ringworm. Ive had the animal for 10 days and Ive spent money getting rid of uri which he is improving on. No way am I bringing him back to that place to have them treat. I can do it better myself. But Im never ever buying another animal from this location again.

We had the worst experience with the new Pets Hotel on 28th st. Our 8 month old puppy came home sick, she had four bowel movements when we got her home. We called the hotel back and spoke with the manager, they stated that it was her fault for not going when they brought her outside, she was there all weekend, you would think that they would spend a little more time trying to get her to go. They said the checked on her every hour but that they couldnt tell if she really needed to go out or if she just wanted to get out of her cage. We will never bring our dog back there nor will we recommend them to anyone.

Had to use there services a few times as a last resort...they are one of the only walk in services in town. Every time I would pick up my dogs I would get chewed out for "how naughty my pets were, and that they didnt like to be groomed", like it was my fault! So I stayed a few times to assist and I honestly was shocked how mean THEY were to the dogs. Of course the dogs arent going to respond well to a nasty/frustrated human. The groomers clearly hate their jobs! I have since found a wonderful caring groomer in Caledonia, who tells me that my dog is not a problem at all! Never again.....

I am 100% outraged and very upset with Petsmart Hotel. I am a pet sitter and veterinary technician myself and am looking for a comfortable and safe place to board my dogs while I am away for my honey moon. When asking for a price quote they will not allow my dogs to stay together because one of them is a pit mix. They have lived together and slept side by side since they were both puppies, in this case that makes almost 4 years. Breed discrimination is just as bad as human race discrimination. I can assure you that this pitbull owner will no longer shop in this store.

While I am not a fan of PetSmart in general, this location hits the bottom. PetSmart as a whole is rather pricey for most of their products, and generally keeps well informed staff and a very "posh" appearance. This location felt like a grungy warehouse, and most of the employees were just as uniformed. Their are a couple of groomers that I do respect, and would go back to however the cashiers are cashiers (dont expect any sound pet advice) and the day care is closer to a holding facility. Not a great chain, and a bad location on top of it.
