I live less than a half of a mile from the mall. Although the mall is single story, meaning no escalators or elevators to the upper floor like certain malls, theres a lot of clothing stores, department stores, and even a sporting good store to shop in. One problem: there are about five or six vacant spots in the place, which is one reason why Port Huron has unemployment and poor job opportunities as the #1 concern. Anyways, the food court is excellent. The addition of Subway to replace the old Coney Island last year was great. The cinema on the south-end of the mall has movies that are always up-to-date, and it was excellent. I will always come back there whenever I have time.

I am a frequent mall walker. I have been very pleased with my mall experience until recently. In certain areas of the mall I must hold my breath and or cover my nose. I believe the smell is coming from the large flocks of seagulls. You can even smell it outside the entrance by the movies. The glass skylights are covered with bird droppings. There are times I leave with irritated eyes and throat. Hopefully the mall management will take measures to eliminate the smell and droppings.

We were saddened to see the loss of the smaller stores has continued to occur at Birchwood. The main anchor stores (ieTarget, JC Penny) are still evident and have great pricing. However many of the smaller stores have closed with no replacements. We hope the economy improves and Birchwood Mall is restored to its prior vibrant state. Still worth the visit but bring your walking shoes for the distance between the stores.

One word: Carousel - this is a must visit mall when you have little ones. The carousel is just delightful. Lots of other fun stuff in the court and great food selections. This is the only mall I shop at during the Christmas season, because the stores are stocked and the mall is not crowded. The movie theater has giant reclining seats and is super cheap on Tuesdays.

Really nice mall with lots of stores. Theyve made some nice mods to the mall recently, adding a little "theatre" were you can sit down for free and watch a movie with the family. Todays Wreck It Ralph was playing. Fairly clean facility, has a play area for kids, and the food court has an indoor merry-go-round. A nice place for cross boarder shopping.

Check their website frequently as the stores in the mall go out of business quite often. The Garfields restaurant can help ease the pain of shopping in the dive mall and fighting off the Canadian drivers by serving you cold beer. They open late on Sundays and lock the halls at night so park according if you see a movie or youll never escape.

A small mall with a good selection. A lot of unruly teens are dropped off for purposes of lazy parenting, so avoid it on weekends unless you want the annoyance of un-monitored teens, and that can get annoying at times. But the shops are quaint and theres always a Target attached if you dont find what youre looking for inside the mall.

I like it but it needs to be updated and honestly if I was the owner Id knock it down and make it and outside shopping area like Partridge Creek. It could be so beautiful. Standard malls are going obsolete, time to do something and make some $$$$!! We could see the potential in the area and bring so many stores back and more in.

Restrooms are usually clean, love that they have a nursing spot and two free childrens areas, free Wi-Fi in the mall, and a vintage merry-go-round! The merry-go-round is only $1 and parents ride free with their child. Buy one get one free fares on Tuesdays too. Store selection is fairly standard, if a little on the slim side.

Birchwood is Fort Gratiot / Port Hurons local mall. It is nothing special. It is fairly small. It has most of the stores that a person needs. It even has a movie theater and food court. If you need to get some walking done and stay warm in the winter time I would suggest the mall as it is a nice place to walk around.

There are a lot of unique shops that keep popping up in the mall! Theres a tattoo shop, and herbal store, and a few other shops with oddities and things to support the local alternative community. However, the big anchor stores keep closing and things are kind of pricy, which is typical for an indoor mall.

I used to love Burchwood mall. But poor management and all the stores moving out has made it a less desirable destination. Seems like the management company has given up on the mall since Sears left. What they should be doing is trying to attract another anchor where Sears used to be.

Havent walked through the entire place, I have only been to planet fitness and the food court (hehe). Planet fitness is wonderful, it is a great atmosphere and gets you pumped up just being in there. The food court is bigger than expected, and the Chinese food there is okay.

Not a whole lot of stores but its better than no stores at all. Its usually clean and tidy. Easy access to all stores. Mostly friendly staff. Has a food court and movie theater as well. Its no Mall of America but it serves its purpose and does so admirably.

A pretty good selection of stores for a mall of its size. Has 3 large anchor stores (JCPenney, Macys, and Target) as well as an assortment of outlet stores. Fairly wide selection of eating in the food court, an indoor carousel, and a Planet Fitness gym.

Not that much to do. The only stores I care about are Hot Topic and Bath & Body Works sometimes Yankee Candle and Target. Spencers once in awhile. Other than that I rarely go to any other store in there. But my new favorite is definitely Five Below.

Love shopping here lots of variety for families with children. But Im confused why they would take out play area for kids as it was well used and valued by parents which based on their store target markets would be whom they needed to keep happy.

Ive always enjoyed mall style locations. I enjoy window shopping as well as shopping with purpose. I am saddened by the lack of stores being opened in this mall. Im unsure as to the reasons behind it, but there needs to be a turn around.

What options do you have in PH? Its a cookie cutter mall with cookie cutter merchandise. Its not their fault. If there were more diverse cultures in the area there would be more uniqueness. Its a great place for your generic needs.

Place is going down hill So many empty stores. Big box stores leaving. Its sad to see it going down. Hope they can bring it back. Still has some good stores and is maintained well. Movie theater is all remodeled with recliners.

This mall is going down hill fast. I hate to admit it, but I expect it to go out of business very soon. Moat of the stores that are left are the tacky startups and food places. Sears and many other big names moved out recently.

Great place to shop. Too bad that the retail industry is suffering causing some nice store to close there. I have been to Lakeside Mall and they have many stores closing inside as well. Hopefully things will turn around soon.
