I recently had a poor experience with selling magic the gathering cards at BC Comix in Fenton. I spent many hours pricing out my cards based on the published buy lists from BC Comix and also CoolStuffInc (I like buying board games from CoolStuffInc). I ended up with two stacks of cards - with intention that I wanted to sell the stack to BC Comix for cash and the other stack for store credit at CoolStuffInc. I should note that both stacks contained cards from the same sets and in similar condition (same binders, same history). They were chosen based on maximizing value. My cash price from adding all the cards into my cart on BC Comixs website was about $650 and that was the ballpark number that I was expecting when I drove from Ann Arbor to Fenton (40 minute drive). My expecation is that the cards I brought in would be priced based on the posted buy list and then final value per card would be determined based on the condition of each. The first offer that I received was in the $400s. I was dismayed to find out that the posted buy list values were not used when my cards were priced. In my case, this was detrimental. What happens is they sort all of the cards onto a store credit mat - which I originally thought was cash value, since the values lined up approximately with the buy list. Unfortunately, the cash value is only about 70% of what the store credit is. I did not make it a mystery that I priced my cards from their posted buy list. I also questioned many of the placements of the cards because they didnt make sense. For one, Trinisphere, I was told point blank that the buy list was wrong and would not be honored. I should add that I brought in other cards with me that their buy list didnt show as actively buying, just in case. I would estimate an additional $30 or so were added and the offer was still in the $400s. The offer in the $400s was upped to $500, due to me saying "hey wait - when I priced with you buy list it was $650", but I was told "only with approval from the owner". Apparently this was given, but the numbers still didnt work out. Another employee then went through all of the cards - along the way I was told that none of my cards would be valued at near mint and instead would be valued as moderately played - so not even valued as lightly played!! This is despite the fact that all of my cards being valued were stored in a binder and untouched for the last 10 years. I treat all of my cards with great care. At this stage, Ive used up about 3 hours of my Sunday afternoon. Long story short, the (technically third) offer was $505 and that was with me holding back two cards to send over to CoolStuffInc, instead (~$20). I accepted, but I regret it. More than anything I accepted because I didnt want to have nothing to show for my entire Sunday afternoon. To me there are two main problems: 1. The buy list was not used to value my cards. 2. The cards were not graded appropriately. The combination of these two resulted in me losing out on about 25% of the cards value (~$150) and a big waste of my time. Ok. So what happened with the cards I sent out to CoolStuffInc? I ended up sending 180 cards to CoolStuffInc and 173 were accepted as "near mint" condition and 7 were valued as "played" (25% less than near mint price) for a total of $421.59 store credit. To recap, each stack of cards were from similar sets (mostly mirrodin block), priced based on near mint values on each site, and organised based on which site theoretically offered more. CoolStuffInc: 96% of the cards were accepted as near mint, 4% as played. BC Comix Fenton: 0% accepted as near mint. I attempted to express my concerns with the owner, but they either do not understand my concerns or dont care.

use to be a cool place, but they killed there magic card selection with their online store being combined with their brick and mortar store selection. nothing to buy, unless your into standard. Further more, judges have made bad rulings against me, I play lots of combo decks and more than 1, 1 in a blue moon situation happened that was overtly complicated and for sake of saving time ruled against me with BS. when after a long search or consulting judges online it turned out I was right, they were wrong.

Im a fairly casual Magic player but I cannot imagine doing Prereleases at a better place. Everyone, even just regulars, are the nicest of people, eager to help or give suggestions. Ownership and employees is the highest level. Kinda sad I have to give up the hobby but if I ever want to get back in, Im coming back here. Plus the location is perfect, with tons of awesome food nearby.

As a returning gamer (now that my kids are old enough to enjoy it), its been fantastic to find a local shop that is family-friendly and down to earth. My two oldest sons and I recently played a Magic tournament at B.C. Comix, and everyone was welcoming and pleasant. Shop local AND save money.

Bob, the owner, is one of the best people I know. One of the premiere places in SE Michigan especially for Magic. They have a large selection of comics and board games. The miniatures community is the best Ive ever seen across 3 states. Its smallish, but the people are great.

This is my new LCS and I couldnt be happier about it. Everyone is really friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. In addition to comics they also feature a slew of tabletop games and host competitions. I highly recommend checking this store out.

A local gaming & comic shop with friendly staff and a welcoming social atmosphere. I am particularly pleased with their Magic cards. They have a good variety for browsing and very generous custom pricing when buying multiple singles.

This is hands down the best comic and game shop in the region. This place is under amazing ownership and management. Very inclusive which is a nice change from many similar shops where I have found a lot of prejudice.

It is a nice, friendly place. The staff are all well educated and are willing to help newcomers. Is a great place to play in local Magic, also has everything needed to play table tops such as D&D and warhammer.

Its good if youre into Magic the Gathering. But they have way too few comics to be called a comic shop.
