TOLD THAT MY BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE VERY BAD (they werent in immediate need of replacement) and an hour and a half for an oil change and tire rotation... I have been going to the same location for 15 or more years - before, when it was owned by Jim Waldron, and since it has been purchased by Todd Wenzel. The difference is night and day. The other day I took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation - the vehicle was purchased from Jim Waldron and every oil change has been performed there. I get full synthetic oil at top dollar (about $60 or so) and was told that now tire rotation costs $10, but the service person had a coupon for $5 off. Well, okay. There was no other car waiting in the oil change area - another vehicle was being finished and other than that it was just my car. I forgot to leave my keys in the vehicle and it took ten minutes for anyone to come looking for them. All told, IT TOOK AN HOUR AND A HALF. Each time I checked I was told that it wouldnt be much longer... When they finally finished, a service technician told me that both my front and rear brakes were "very bad" and needed to be replaced "right away". I was told that the pads were down to 3mm in the front and 4mm in the back and the rotors would have to be replaced as well "at this point" and then he said something about how the brakes and rotors are now designed so that when the brakes go the rotors need to be replaced as well. The tech told me that brakes and rotors would cost $550 and we needed to get it scheduled. I had experienced absolutely zero issues with the brakes - no grinding, nothing. I said thanks, but my brother in law is a licensed mechanic with 30+ years of experience (and is employed directly by General Motors) and he does our repair work. I drove around all day worried that my car was unsafe. My brother in law changed the brakes over the weekend - both the front and back brakes were at 4mm and he said that I had probably another year left in them as I drive very gently. He is extremely conscientious with the familys vehicles and I have never had any cause to doubt his word. Zero issues with the rotors. Premium brake pads cost less than $95. On Monday I tried to call the Service Manager and had to leave a message. Later that day I received a call from his assistant, John (no last name was provided). I related that I had spent an hour and a half waiting for an oil change and tire rotation when there were no customers before me and he made absolutely no comment. What I was most concerned about was that I have always trusted the dealership to be honest about work that needed to be done and I felt that I was pressured to have work done that wasnt yet necessary. I wasnt simply told that the brakes were worn - I was told that they were "very bad". John indicated that this also concerned him and asked me if I had saved the old brake pads. Honestly, I never thought to and I was up north over the weekend and left my husband and his brother to handle the brakes (they had gone out in the trash the same day). His response was that he sure wished that he had the old ones to "use as an example". What? He indicated that there is something or other that triggers a warning when the brake pads get to 3mm - but the pads were all actually at 4mm, so I dont know why that should have happened. My brother in law didnt eyeball the amount of pad remaining, he measured it in the manner that any licensed mechanic would. John indicated that I would definitely be receiving a follow-up call that day. It has been several days and I am still waiting for that call. I will never use Wenzel again for anything - a dishonest mechanic is to be avoided if at all possible and Hank Graff Chevrolet down the street will be happy to provide me with a premium oil change. My concern is for the elderly and folks who have nothing to rely on but the word of the mechanic that a repair needs to be done.

We bought our 2011 Acadia and the sales team were great. When it came to the service department I was instantly brought to tears by how I was talked to and treated by some of the service department men. My vehicle was brought in to have things fixed upon buying it and some were never even fixed. My vehicle has been brought in many times to have fixed and we are a preferred platinum customer and it was like getting a rental you were scolded and talked to like it was an inconvenience for them. My husband worked for a huge dealership in Lake Orion for many years in the service department and spending a lot of time there and seeing how they were compared to your service department was highly disappointing. I had my vehicle in there many times for days and still the chip in my window was never fixed and now have a huge crack along the windshield and getting a hold of someone is seriously a joke. I had a safety seatbelt recall fixed and now the seatbelt does not even work. Keeping customers coming back should be a concern, but from my experience sadly it is not. This was my first car purchase from a dealership and it was horrible experience to say the least. I will never go back there and I am thankful that the Davison dealership is not ran like the one in Grand Rapids or else we would of traded or car in with another dealership just to not have nothing to do with this dealership. Its very obvious many people are having issues with the service department. Maybe you should really try fixing the problems, if your concerned about having returning customers because the sales team are great!

I purchased a 2015 GMC Terrain in July of 2015. During the signing of all the papers I was presented with the "opportunity" to buy their platinum club membership. The membership cost $3300 and it supposedly gave me a full coverage maintenance program. This program was good for 100,000 miles and if anything went wrong with my vehicle then it would be covered. Today I find out that it only gives me the first 4 oil changes free and after that I get a discount on oil changes. I also get free car washes by appointment only during work hours Monday thru Friday and must be scheduled a week in advance. Well as a trauma rep with no set schedule this does not work for me because I have no idea when someone will trip and break a bone or get in a car accident. So basically I have paid $3300 dollars to get oil changes for my car at a discounted rate. Still costing me $25 This is the biggest scam I have ever seen. I would not recommend this company to anyone. If this plan was presented to me for what it really was and I had not been lied to then I would never have bought it. I feel like this company has stolen $3300 dollars from me. Do Not Go Here!!!! If for whatever reason you wish to go here, which I dont know why you would want to after reading mine and everyone elses review, do not get scammed into buying their platinum membership it is a complete scam.
