I walked into KLM with some semblance of what I wanted to get in a bike, but still pretty ignorant about the sport of cycling in general (Im trying to get into triathlons). As soon as I walked through the door I was very pleased with the teams receptiveness to what I wanted with my bike, and their ability to fill in the gaps, not exploit, what I didnt know. Tim, the gentleman who helped me, was very reasonable in his explanations of the bikes, and was able to pinpoint what model would be best for my stature and cycling ambitions. He did not go out of his way to try and upgrade me to the newest carbon fiber frame, etc. I gave him my price point, and Tim took time to work with me and make a recommendation well within this range. Going into a bike store to buy your first serious road bike can be really daunting, even with prior research, which I tried before talking to the KLM team. Although the price point of the bikes at KLM was higher than youll find on the internet Im happy to have done business with this local company- the service and warranty options available at KLM levels the playing field. The bike assembly was flawless and the team at KLM was great about putting on any add- ons to the bike I bought (i.e. pedals, water bottle holder, saddle bag, etc.) The additional service available for the bike after I took it out of the store is an additional plus. I will be sure to recommend this store to anyone interested in getting started with serious cycling, not only for the purchase of equipment, but also learning how to ride with the great selection of group rides that KLM hosts every week. An A+ business....thanks to Tim and the rest of the KLM team, I will be back!

I went to KLM because I was in the market for a mountain bike. I was greeted by Ben; who was a nice enough kid, but could really benefit from some customer service courses because he didnt pay attention to a word I said. I explained that I was a novice to the sport, so I wasnt looking for anything fancy. He proceeded to show me a bike that "wouldnt break my budget". The bike he showed me was over $900. I wasnt looking to spend that much so I told him what my budget was. I immediately sensed he was already thinking of his next customer, which I basically confirmed when I asked if they made commission from the sale. Fortunately for us both, I found a bike I liked at a reasonable price. I explained that I needed a kickstand, so Ben mentioned a package they offered that includes a kickstand, a bag (for a phone, wallet, etc) bottle holder, and pedometer. I purchased the package. When I picked up the bike, Ben said they couldnt install the kickstand on my model, so they threw in an additional bottle holder instead. He totally missed my point about needing the kickstand, which being the salesman, he should have known couldnt be installed on that model. In fact, he didnt go over anything related to the bike, nor did I get an instruction manual for the bike or accessories. I learned later, after doing some research online, that I should have been fitted for/on the bike, which wasnt even offered at the time. Sure, I could go back to KLM to get these things, but my experience was so poor that Id rather just go to a shop closer to home.

I love KLM. They are the only LBS that I will trust any day of the week. I have purchased two mountain bikes, countless accessories ordered that were not stocked in store and some of the best bike service ever. The mechanics in the back are down right awesome. Brought my MTB in to have the disc brakes bled. They asked if I needed it done in a day or if I could wait for their super guru brake bleeder to come back from vacation. They told me up front that they could do it, but if I could wait I would be much happier. Incredible service right there. Brought in a bike that I had bought from an online store and pieces together. I ran out of time to put it together and brought it to KLM to be assembled. They didnt mind at all. They prestreched all my cables and after a year of serious riding, I have only had to make one minor adjustment to a derailleur. Brought in an old wheel set to see if they could save them. Ended up being asked by another mechanic what size wheels they were as the first mechanic was taking a look at the wheels. Ended up scrapping the old wheels and purchased a better set than what I had. All of this ended up being cheaper than what it would have cost to true the old wheels. Down right nice honest people at KLM. I wouldnt go anywhere else. Thankfully I had a bad experience at the Trek store just down the road because I love these guys. My roommate had a similar bad experience at the same Trek store and became a KLM fan himself.

This place is absolutely awful. Under no circumstances should you go here. We were moving and dropped off our bikes just to be cleaned and tuned up and they flat out LOST THEM! So they offered us a deal on new bikes, which was not what we wanted and was not money we were looking to spend. They told us they would sell them to us at the price they buy them at from the manufacturers, but that was another lie! They still marked it up! When we decided to shop for new bikes (because we did not have bikes any longer) the person was just confusing, and not very helpful for the average person who wants an average bike. Then when they were rolling the bikes away that we picked out I saw the guy do a wheelie and leave a black mark on the floor with the bike we had JUST PURCHASED! What the heck!? And it does not even end there. When we picked up the bikes they had totally F-ed up everything we asked to put on the bikes. We selected a comfier seat for one bike, and they put it on both! And charged for it! Then they said did not have the original seat and were about to give us this scuffed up one that didnt even match! They put this electronic monitor on one of the bikes and part of a package they do, when we explicitly chose not to do the package, and they forgot to put a kickstand on one of the bikes. How one place could mess up so many times with just one customer is beyond me. This place is a horrible horrible nightmare.

DISGRACEFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Ive been shopping bikes for my son and really wanted to support a local shop. When we walked in we noticed HELP WANTED signs on the door, I asked my son if he would be interested he shrugged his shoulders and went on to look at bikes. We were in there for probably less than 90 seconds when I heard the manager ZAK screaming at an employee!! I couldnt figure what he was yelling about the guy looked so scary, it sounded like he was telling the employee he was taking too long with a customer!! Ive never heard of such a thing. I was shaking by the time we left there I truly hope the employee he was screaming at still has some dignity. Needless to say we went down the street to another local bike shop to a much calmer environment.
