Ive been going to this bike shop for 10 years on and off. I have not purchased a LOT there until recently, but now that my 4 kids are ready for mountain bikes, I bought them there. I am knowledgable on bikes and worked in a shop 20 years ago. They got me up to speed on the current status of bikes and components and steered me in the right direction quickly, and gave me as good as internet pricing on the 4 bikes. This shop has switched managers a few times over the 10 years, but the "new guy" has always been good. TJ is the current manager as far as I know. He is smart, nice, knowledgable, and used to race bikes. He finds the right fit for you, not the right fit for them to sell to you. They demo Giant and Specialized high end bikes. I had a Giant Anthem X1, a Giant Trance, and a Specialzed 5" full suspension bike for 2 days each a couple years ago. These were all $1500-$2500 bikes. I did not buy at the time, and that did not cause any "What do you mean youre not buying a bike?!" type weirdness. I just wasnt ready to buy. But Im back now and Im glad a shop like this exists in my area. They carry high end stuff but make most of their sales on lower end bikes just like everyone else, so they have the good stuff without being so high-brow you cant talk to them about the less expensive bikes like other shops Ive been in. My kids wound up with two Giant Revel 1s, a Revel 2 and one Specialized Hot Rock. Im almost jealous of my 2 older sons Revel 1s compared to my 18 year old Specialized I paid $1800 for. My only consolation is my bike is still a few pounds lighter, but theirs are more comfortable and shift better. Great bikes for a great price!! Cant wait for the weather to warm up so we can all hit the trail this spring. No more video games and couch potato act for us. My wife is thrilled! I visited KLM in Rochester recently, and these two shops are similar in my opinion. Pricing might be a bit better at Main Street than KLM, but I didnt get into much negotiation with KLM. I highly suggest you "ask for a better deal" no matter where you go. MSRP is for suckers.

The guys are nice. Your service depends on who you get to help you. Some kids working here. While I was standing at the counter waiting for service I saw one of their mechanics drop a brand new stem on the floor THREE TIMES before he got it installed. He just laughed about it and said "one of those days!" Got a tune up and it was poor. Really dirty still, like other reviews stated. When I picked it up a note on the tag said I needed a new chain and rear cassette. Maybe let me know that before I come pick it up? When I rode the bike after the tune several gears were slipping badly, obviously I needed new components, not just a tune up. Thought I could trust experts to give me advice on this. To top it off, I picked up the bike and noticed after I got home that the stem was crooked. I had to loosen and straighten it myself. Nice. But, like I said, the guys are really nice. Theyve installed headset cups and a bottom bracket on short notice for really cheap.

I purchased a mountain(ish) bike for my daughter. I got a past year model for a sale price, so I was happy with that. After getting the bike home, I saw something that needed adjusting so I took it back, I also mentioned the pedals were kind of slippery and they put on another pair (used, but free) for me. Also gave me a free kickstand. After myself and 2 kids rode the bike a little at home, I noticed it had a bit of drag and that it might not have been the best choice for my daughter. They said to bring it back and see what else we had. My kid still really liked the bike, so they said they could swap out the tires for free, as it was the heavy, thick tires slowing her down. So, they were very helpful when they just could have told me tough luck, deal with the bike you bought. They have my business now.

I havent owned a bike in thirty-five years and got hooked after borrowing my friends bike for some exercise. Main Street Bikes are right across the street so I just dropped in to check out their stock, not intending really to purchase anything...The staff was really friendly and patiently answered all my questions..They didnt try to sell me the most expensive product in the store, just one that would fit my needs... After test riding one, I left with a bike that day...Really happy with my Giant Roam 3...The advancements in technology are a far cry from the one-speed Huffy I had years ago! And their convenient location is another plus...Friendly staff and great service. What more could one ask?Highly recommend this place for all your bike needs...

We recently purchased two nice Specialized Hybrid bikes from the guys (and gal) at Main Street in Lake Orion. They did a great job in setting up the bikes for us and describing how to use all of the features of the bikes. We bought the bikes in the spring, their busiest time, so it took a while to get an appointment to get in for the set up. But since the weather was so cold this year, we didnt mind. They are a little bit disorganized when it comes to placing orders and transferring things like shoes from their other store. But, they are much better than some of the other bike shops in the area. I have put quite a few miles on my bike. The set up that Main Street Bicycles did makes the bike really enjoyable to ride.

I was terribly unimpressed by their service. I brought my bikes in for tune ups. Most bike shops give a thorough cleaning, adjustments and look for repairs they the bike may need. Here, they barely cleaned, barely adjusted and I just do not feel like I was given my moneys worth. If you are putting more than a hundred dollars into a tune up, it should look and act like gold. I had to point out a few things they missed and they were not terribly clean at all. They only cleaned the frame, nothing else. A bit disappointed. I really had high hopes after reading other reviews. I would recommend calling around before committing to a tune up here.

The Lake Orion staff is always super helpful. They are interested in making sure you get the right bike for your needs and walk out with a setup you will enjoy. They do not try to make the easy sale or push more expensive models. You can tell by talking to them that the whole staff has a passion for biking and are very knowledgeable. With a couple of short discussions they were able to fit me to the perfect bike!

Ive purchased all of my accessories from them. I plan on purchasing a kayak through them soon. The manager, Alex - really knows his stuff. You can tell hes really passionate about the products and services he offers. You dont find that too often anymore and thats why I repeatedly bring them my business. 5-stars!
