BEWARE! SHADY OFFICE STAFF - CONFUSING and UNEXPECTED FEES! My low rating is due to the office staff/billing people, not the eye care I received. I was a first time customer with a contact check appointment this past Tuesday. When I arrived, I asked several times what my co-pay would be (I wanted to understand what Id be charged before proceeding). The office assistant I spoke to told me that I do NOT have a co-pay... I questioned this and she spoke to another office woman to confirm that I would NOT be charged any fees. I questioned this SEVERAL more times, but both were adamant that my insurance covers the whole cost. After my contact check (thank you, Dr. Iceberg!), I spoke to the same office assistant about next steps. At this point, she brought over a man (I think he was a doctor who seemed more familiar with the billing system) who then told me my charge was over $60. WHAT?! I just went over this SEVERAL times with both office people! The one office assistant stood there and didnt say a word... in fact, she eventually slipped away from the room. She didnt confirm our earlier conversation or speak up for her mistakes at all. I told the man that I was told many times earlier that I would NOT be charged. He said I think there was a misunderstanding. You owe $60+." He apologized, but still charged me. I was clearly upset. I paid the fee because I felt I had no other choice. Im still VERY frustrated that I was so obviously misled and nothing was done about it. Your staff says one thing, but then does another. That hurts your business, your customers and is VERY disrespectful. Show some integrity and stick to your word - it was your staffs mistake not mine. You should have waved the charges, or at least offered a discount for the misleading information.

Dr. Iceburg gave me the most thorough and comprehensive eye exam Ive ever had and was calm and kind throughout. Every member of the office staff were helpful and courteous. Susan, Eric, and especially Laurie who I worked with the most, went above and beyond. They have a wide variety of frames and help guide you towards ones that compliment your face. They also found an excellent alternative that was more affordable for me. It might be helpful to others who read the previous review that slams the staff for hidden fees for them to consider that the woman who posted it states this was her first eye exam. New to the process, most people do not realize all the fees involved and that glasses or contacts, even when covered by insurance, still end up costing hundreds.

So I am not a big reviewer, but was motivated enough by my experience here that I wanted to post. I found optical design off of the web when I was looking for a place to get an eye exam and get glasses. The doctor I met with was excellent- I have an eye condition from childhood and he was very aware of the condition and how to treat it. Michelle in the glasses department was great. She helped me find a pair that I loved and that suited my face. She wasnt afraid to tell me her opinion, which I really appreciated. I have told several colleagues and friends to come here. I will definitely be coming back. Good job guys.

We have been using Medical Village Optical Designs for several years. Our family has always been treated with a welcome smile, no matter how small the requests. Many times we pop in just to have glasses adjusted (active boy!). One of my children has a medical condition, which Michelle researched prior to his eye exam so the staff would be educated. The staff works with our insurance, which is a huge deal in todays economy. I definitely recommend Medical Village Optical!!

In this brave new world of assembly line care, optical service is a rarity in providing personalized service and expertise! I recognize each technician and know that whatever time necessary for a perfect fit will be taken to make my vision the best it can be. They work with me on pricing alternatives and give me advice on newer enhancements as needed. Family owned. I drive from West Bloomfield because I know that I am in the best of hands when I enter their store.

The employee Eric went above and beyond what was required. Iccame in about 5:30 pm with no appointment and needed an emergency pair of glasses. He not only helped me past business hours in shopping for a pair but even fit my old lenses into the new frame while I was there. He had a friendly demeanour the entire time and even answered questions and concerns. I was out the door at 6:30 with a brand new frame and feeling confident. I see the reviews were no lie.

We have been getting my daughters glasses here since she was 10 months old (she is now 13 years of age). She has a very strong script, but the team at Medical Village Optical was able to make her glasses look as good as mine. They are extremely knowledgeable and caring, and help us every step of the way through our vision journey. Probably sounds sappy, but its very true. I cant recommend them enough. You will be in good professional hands here!

We had a very friendly and professional visit. We live in Davison, MI and went to a local eye doctor. We really didnt get a good prescription. So we went on the internet to find Dr. Iceburg who we went to before Optiview closed. It is wonderful to be happy with our glasses and confident in our eye practice again. We would recommend Medical Village Optical Designs to anyone looking for a great experience and quality service.

Only good things to say about Medical Village Optical Designs. Staff is very friendly and personable. The location is small and homey, but with a large selection of glasses and sample contact lenses. I always feel well-taken-care-of there, much more so than in a large place like Costco or through a hospital system. Easy to reach, easy to talk to, and theyll actually known who you are and remember you.

I just got screwed by another eye doctor (missed diagnosis of an eye infection, a script for space exploration, not driving glasses)...and then went to Opti Des. What a difference. I can not give higher praises to Opti Des. You are guaranteed excellent eye care.

First time visiting Medical Village Optical and I will definitely go back-- great service from Dr. Coscione. She took took the time to explain everything to me and I felt very comfortable during the whole visit. Their evening hours are convenient too.
