Would be zero stars if I could, thanks to the manager- employees should get 4 stars (they were nice) I went to the Woburn Staples today with the anticipation of purchasing school supplies and organization items in advance of the Fall semester and my Staples rewards email included a 25% off Teacher Appreciation coupon for use 8/1-8/3. I purposefully delayed my purchase of these needed items because this offer would be available soon. Unfortunately, my interaction with the store manager at the register would result in this complaint and my future business transactions being handled elsewhere When I entered the store, the associates were busy stocking and organizing and were all friendly and helpful. The store itself had all merchandise I was looking for and more with the one exception of the remote presenter I was in the market for. I had approximately $75 worth of items in my cart when I approached the register and a friendly cashier looked up my rewards number and scanned all my items. He attempted to scan the Teacher Rewards coupon but when he did it came up as already used for $25 in nashua on 7/26. I had not used this coupon nor could I have since the coupon was not valid UNTIL AUGUST 1. The cashier told me that he summoned the manager who could override the problem. The manager arrived quickly (Bill or Rob- squirrely little man wearing an easy tech shirt) and immediately told me he could not override because I had used the coupon. I told him I had not and could not have used it- recall this coupon was not valid until August 1. He told me maybe someone hacked into my account, which I found ridiculous seeing as, if someone had hacked into my account, surely they would have used my stored credit card, not stolen my COUPON. Additionally, he told me "I will not override a coupon YOU (emphasis mine) already used" and that I would need to contact the rewards people. He was rude, arrogant, and all but accused me of trying to steal from them for trying to use my reward. I am appalled at the behavior of this manager and his insistence that I was trying to take advantage. I am an educated woman, an educator in higher education, and a former retail employee. I did not deserve his attitude. As a loyal Staples customer since I was a child, I am at the point where I will take my business to Target or Amazon to avoid going to this store ever again. This manager let me walk out without completing my purchase. His arrogance is the ONLY reason I walked out of this store. The story takes another twist. Upon my departure, I called the Burlington store and the customer service rep who answered told me they would be happy to honor my reward and that there was a known error with this coupon. A known error!! Not 5 minutes before, the manager treated me like a thief, but there was a known problem with the coupon. Ten minutes later, I arrived at the Burlington store, found only some of the storage items I initially wanted, the pencil cases were 50% cheaper, and the presenter I was looking for. Sadly, I couldnt find the things I needed and had found 30min before in Woburn. I was able to use my reward, but I am left with a very sore taste in my mouth after my interaction at the Woburn store. Staples management should be ashamed of themselves for allowing a manager to behave in such a manner and allow a customer to leave dissatisfied and insulted.

absolutely 0 star if I could choose. Terrible experience with the manager "Dhruv Patel". This guy is very rude and uneducated. When I checked out two calculators this guy just run and shout impolitely"What do you use with it, show me your teacher id or student id", what a shock, it is absolutely a discrimination. I havent had any similar experience in any store, and I didnt see anyone in this store had been asked for this unreasonable request. Then I asked him why I should show the id, it is not alcohol or cigarette, this arrogant manager just shout "This is my store, I can do what I want to do". What a shame staples employed this kind of person, and got promoted to manager...Can not believe. This guy is really a shame for staples, and is harmful for staples reputation and business. It is wise to fire it immediately. And by the way, this guy seems be from India originally, and hate east Asian people. I dont know what happened to him during his life. It is really not professional to hire a person like this.

Just bought some pens which the store sign listed as on sale. The price rung up incorrectly. When I inquired about the discrepancy I was met with silence from the clerk. Not stony silence, mind you, but silence still. I double checked the price myself and informed the clerk again about the discrepancy. Again she said nothing to me, but did inquire over her headset to another employee. I could see two other employees go check the price sign. One returned to the cashier with the sale sign which she used to ring in the correct price. She refunded me the difference, but no apology was made for the error and no one thanked me for my purchase. I was made to feel as if I was an annoyance, which I suppose I was, but not because of any inappropriate behavior on my part, but because I had made them go out of their way for the stores malfunction. I will return there because it is a convenient location, but, man, a little courtesy would go a long way.

I had a wonderful experience at Staples yesterday. My father whom past two years ago served in the US Air Force in the 1950s plus. VFW magazine is running a story about my Dad and wanted pictures of him while he was in service. For obvious reasons, I am very protective of the 60 year old photographs of my dad in the service. VFW magazine would take a high resolution scanned copy and staples helped me do this. The care and the time Peter Harding, Production planner at Staples in Woburn, took with the worn photo album pages was truly appreciated. Peter also downloaded the scanned images to my camera memory card and all of this was done at no cost. I was shocked and so appreciative and upon leaving the store was in tears that my father years after his service to his country was still recognized. A heartfelt Thank you and I will always take my business to Staples in Woburn.

Had an unpleasant chat with the "manager/supervisor" at the Woburn store, who was impolite, not helpful, and sounded as if he could care less over a computer we purchased yesterday, a Sunday, and was told the simple upload from our old laptop hard drive to the new laptop that we purchased ($650) would be ready Monday morning. Hours are 8:00 am to 9:00pm, its 5:00 pm now. No phone call etc. His response to my inquiry was blah blah...then finally itll be done by 9:00 pm. I told him Im in Quincy and Im to wait til they "call" me at 9:00? Riiiight! Im upset and considering calling my bank and cancelling! Too many places to buy a laptop without having to deal with this caricature of a manager.
